:02:06. > :02:09.the voters. Divisions over anti-Semitism in the party won't

:02:37. > :02:43.support has slumped. It hasn't moved very much. We know the polls were

:02:46. > :02:51.to maximise ourselves from now until ten o'clock tomorrow. There have
:02:52. > :02:57.been conservative divisions to over the EU. Welsh Tory leader Andrew RT
:02:58. > :03:01.Davies has been visiting target seats to try to talk about his
:03:02. > :03:05.policies. Like bringing back prescription charges for the bill
:03:06. > :03:09.any more than ?43,000 a year. We believe you have to invest in the

:04:39. > :04:42.ever could, especially the needs of our rural communities, we know that
:04:43. > :04:47.has not come to pass. They might have to be friendly to each other
:04:48. > :04:51.after the polls close. No one is expected to win outright control of
:04:52. > :04:53.the Assembly so it is likely that whoever wants to run Wales will need

:05:02. > :05:17.is in Cardiff Bay tonight. The last in the polls to be
:05:18. > :05:21.published. This is the last YouGov poll and it follows a trend that has
:05:22. > :05:27.done for a while, it was Labour's share of the constituency vote at
:05:28. > :05:30.33%. That is the lowest it has bends is 2010. It was then sitting above
:05:31. > :05:34.what many would consider a tipping point, the area where they could
:05:35. > :05:41.lose significant numbers of seats. As things stand, the authors of this
:05:42. > :05:45.report says could be Labour having 27 seats, that is just three below
:05:46. > :05:50.where they are now. The other trend is Plaid Cymru and the Tories are in
:05:51. > :05:56.a neck and neck battle for second place with neither party really
:05:57. > :05:59.pulling ahead. Strong support for Ukip and also some degree of
:06:00. > :06:04.resurgence in a for the Liberal Democrats indicating they will
:06:05. > :06:11.retain them in Basque political presence was the award of caution as

:06:58. > :07:00.parties of ad content with that. Through into the mix the steel
:07:01. > :07:10.crisis and as a result result part of the story has been about fears of
:07:11. > :07:15.a low turnout. We will have to see what happens tomorrow in terms of
:07:16. > :07:18.turnout, the weather will help. The political parties themselves have a
:07:19. > :07:22.responsibility to come out with policies that engage and infuse
:07:23. > :07:28.people. We will find out tomorrow whether they have done that.

:07:41. > :07:42.I want to talk to you now about how many seats are
:07:43. > :07:47.How different might this political map
:07:48. > :07:49.of Wales lock after the Assembly elections.
:07:50. > :07:52.I'll show you now the list of seats which are most marginal,
:07:53. > :07:53.the smallest majorities they have.
:07:54. > :07:56.Top of the list you will see Cardiff Central, Llanelli and
:07:57. > :07:58.Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.
:07:59. > :08:04.Currently held by Labour but only 38 votes ahead of the
:08:05. > :08:07.Liberal Democrats in second place after the last election.
:08:08. > :08:12.Then you come to Llanelli, again held by Labour.
:08:13. > :08:14.Plaid Cymru, the main challenger here.
:08:15. > :08:18.Certainly hoping to take that seat away from this year.
:08:19. > :08:21.Then we come further west again, Carmarthen West
:08:22. > :08:25.and South Pembrokeshire. Currently held by the Conservatives.
:08:26. > :08:29.What is interesting here is Plaid Cymru are also in the mix
:08:30. > :08:34.That is a three way key marginal seat.
:08:35. > :08:36.Always interesting on the night there.
:08:37. > :08:38.Elsewhere, places the Conservatives might well be
:08:39. > :08:41.They certainly will be looking at Cardiff North,
:08:42. > :08:45.They already hold that seat at a Parliamentary level in
:08:46. > :08:48.They will be hopeful of somewhere like
:08:49. > :08:52.A big scalp for them on the night because that is the seat
:08:53. > :08:55.of the leader of the Lib Dems in Wales, Kirsty Williams.
:08:56. > :08:58.The Conservatives will be hopeful in parts of north-east Wales,
:08:59. > :09:03.In the last general election, the UK election, they took the
:09:04. > :09:06.Vale of Clwyd so they will be hopeful there as well.
:09:07. > :09:09.Also places like Delyn and Wrexham, they might well
:09:10. > :09:14.Those are the seas that may well change hands.
:09:15. > :09:16.I haven't mentioned one party which is Ukip.
:09:17. > :09:20.That is because we're not expecting many changes on the
:09:21. > :09:26.The expectation is that they might make gains on the regions.
:09:27. > :09:30.Wales is split up into five regions when it comes
:09:31. > :09:33.to the Assembly, each sending four AMs to Cardiff Bay.
:09:34. > :09:37.After the 2011 election in North Wales, the
:09:38. > :09:40.Conservatives were doing quite well there, two seats
:09:41. > :09:45.Then you've got this huge Mid and West Wales region where
:09:46. > :09:48.Labour were doing better here in 2011.
:09:49. > :09:53.You've then got the smaller regions, South Wales West where the
:09:54. > :09:54.Conservatives were very strong as they were in
:09:55. > :09:59.In South Wales East, the final region,
:10:00. > :10:03.the Conservatives and Plaid Cymru sharing the votes.
:10:04. > :10:07.Actually, it is on these regions that the opinion
:10:08. > :10:10.polls are suggesting Ukip may well make gains.
:10:11. > :10:13.That will change the dynamic and colour of the political map
:10:14. > :10:16.of Wales and probably the Conservatives
:10:17. > :10:18.and Lib Dems may be the big losers if that were
:10:19. > :10:25.I say if because we don't know because the votes haven't been cast
:10:26. > :10:32.We won't know that until Thursday night.
:10:33. > :10:37.The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has said the Government is talking
:10:38. > :10:40.intensively with Tata steel to ensure there is a "serious sales
:10:41. > :10:43.process", but he conceded that it's a very short timetable.
:10:44. > :10:45.He was responding to questions from Aberavon MP, Stephen Kinnock,
:10:46. > :10:48.who asked what steps the Government was taking to make sure Tata
:10:49. > :10:54.was holding its promise to be a responsible seller.
:10:55. > :10:58.We need to work intensively with Tata and those buyers to get that
:10:59. > :11:01.list down to those who are really seriously intending
:11:02. > :11:05.But he is right, it is a very short timetable.
:11:06. > :11:07.He asks what we're doing, what we're doing is
:11:08. > :11:10.talking intensively with Tata to make sure they do everything they
:11:11. > :11:13.can to make sure this is a serious sales process.
:11:14. > :11:15.Six men, including former Wales international footballer
:11:16. > :11:18.Mark Aizlewood and former Cardiff City player Paul Sugrue,
:11:19. > :11:21.have been charged in connection with a fraud involving
:11:22. > :11:27.It's alleged Luis Michael Training Limited claimed payments
:11:28. > :11:30.from several Further Education Colleges and football clubs
:11:31. > :11:36.for training and education services it did not provide.
:11:37. > :11:48.Two GPs have gone on trial accused of the manslaughter
:11:49. > :11:54.The Newport councillor's suspension comes after trees hero two years ago
:11:55. > :11:56.came to light in which he was critical of some juice people. The
:11:57. > :11:58.council says they are investigating the claims.
:11:59. > :12:01.Six men, including former Wales international footballer
:12:02. > :12:03.Two GPs have gone on trial accused of the manslaughter
:12:04. > :12:06.Ryan Morse, from Brynithel near Abertillery, died in December
:12:07. > :12:09.Cardiff Crown Court heard how Dr Lindsey Thomas
:12:10. > :12:11.and Dr Joanne Rudling failed to diagnose the condition.
:12:12. > :12:18.Ryan Morse was just days away from his 13th birthday when he died
:12:19. > :12:23.Cardiff Crown Court heard how he was fit and healthy.
:12:24. > :12:26.That was until the summer of 2012 when he started complaining
:12:27. > :12:31.of a bad head, a sore throat and aching legs.
:12:32. > :12:34.The court also heard his skin had become very discoloured.
:12:35. > :12:35.Ryan's mother, Carol, made several appointments at
:12:36. > :12:37.Abernant surgery in Abertillery but his doctors failed
:12:38. > :12:42.The day before he died the jury heard she phoned the
:12:43. > :12:45.surgery twice to say his symptoms had become worse and he was unable
:12:46. > :12:52.He weighed just four stone and 11 pounds when he died.
:12:53. > :12:55.Two of his GPs, Dr Lindsey Thomas and Dr Joanne Rudling, are accused
:12:56. > :12:58.of manslaughter through gross negligence.
:12:59. > :13:01.Dr Rudling is also accused of altering Ryan's
:13:02. > :13:04.medical records in the days after his death.
:13:05. > :13:05.John Price QC, the prosecuting barrister,
:13:06. > :13:10.told the court Addison's disease is difficult to diagnose but he said
:13:11. > :13:12.the two doctors on duty that day should have
:13:13. > :13:16.Had they done that, he said, they would have
:13:17. > :13:18.confirmed the severity of the situation, they would have
:13:19. > :13:21.seen a very sick child in need of immediate attention.
:13:22. > :13:31.The trial is expected to last four weeks.
:13:32. > :13:34.Still to come tonight: A special report into claims that many
:13:35. > :13:37.disabled people in Wales are being let down
:13:38. > :13:42.And back in the nest three years after migrating, Clarach
:13:43. > :13:52.Conservationists describe it as a milestone.
:13:53. > :13:55.It's being called one of the most significant archaeological finds
:13:56. > :14:00.A research team from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David
:14:01. > :14:04.are currently examining a set of antlers found on Borth beach,
:14:05. > :14:08.which they believe could be between 4,000 and 6,000 years old.
:14:09. > :14:14.Amazingly preserved, a set of red deer antlers
:14:15. > :14:17.which scientists believe dates back to the dawn of
:14:18. > :14:23.They were discovered here on Borth beach in Ceredigion.
:14:24. > :14:26.Geoarchaeologist, Doctor Martin Bates, leads his team
:14:27. > :14:31.to try and find out more about this rocky and sandy beach.
:14:32. > :14:34.But it is believed thousands of years ago this
:14:35. > :14:37.was a forest with an estuary running through it where the deer would have
:14:38. > :14:44.I've spent the last five or six years studying the geological
:14:45. > :14:46.deposits along the beach in Borth where there is this forest.
:14:47. > :14:50.Cutting through the forest is a channel and it is from
:14:51. > :14:53.this channel these remains have come.
:14:54. > :15:00.The forest dates between 4000 and 6000 years ago.
:15:01. > :15:03.I think this channel is contemporary with that, of the same age.
:15:04. > :15:05.The antlers were spotted by holiday-makers visiting
:15:06. > :15:10.They photographed them from a distance as they were still
:15:11. > :15:14.They are now being examined by an archaeological research
:15:15. > :15:16.team at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David's
:15:17. > :15:20.Much of the material we get that is eroded of the
:15:21. > :15:23.beach, out of the estuaries around Wales largely due to storms.
:15:24. > :15:26.They expose bones but bones often get rolled about.
:15:27. > :15:30.They often get washed out to sea, so we are very lucky to find them
:15:31. > :15:35.and very lucky to find them in such good condition.
:15:36. > :15:39.A tiny fragment of the antlers has been sent off to a laboratory in
:15:40. > :15:42.Florida to be radiocarbon dated to help age them.
:15:43. > :15:45.The archaeological team here believe this is already
:15:46. > :15:51.one of the most significant finds in the area in around 60 years.
:15:52. > :15:54.Tomorrow, thousands of people across Wales will be
:15:55. > :15:56.heading to polling stations to cast their votes
:15:57. > :15:59.in the Assembly and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
:16:00. > :16:02.However, it's being claimed that disabled people are being treated
:16:03. > :16:05.like second class citizens when it comes to casting their vote.
:16:06. > :16:09.The organisation, Disability Wales says many people with physical,
:16:10. > :16:12.sensory and learning disabilities are being let down
:16:13. > :16:16.The author and campaigner, Melanie Davies, has
:16:17. > :16:23.Tomorrow thousands of us will go to our nearby
:16:24. > :16:27.But for many disabled people the democratic process
:16:28. > :16:31.According to the Equalities and Human Rights Commission,
:16:32. > :16:34.disabled people should not be disadvantaged when it comes to
:16:35. > :16:39.Local authorities have a duty to make sure that
:16:40. > :16:45.polling stations such as this are fully accessible for everyone.
:16:46. > :16:50.In last year's general election, Damien tied
:16:51. > :16:55.to vote at his local polling station here in the Vale of Glamorgan.
:16:56. > :16:59.The polling booth is set too high for somebody in a wheelchair,
:17:00. > :17:02.to the point where I actually had to ask somebody to
:17:03. > :17:06.come and help me use the polling station.
:17:07. > :17:09.They just did not understand that, actually, your vote
:17:10. > :17:14.In Wales, disabled people make up over
:17:15. > :17:21.But last year, a survey found almost a quarter of them experienced
:17:22. > :17:25.difficulties voting in person in the general election.
:17:26. > :17:28.That is something Nicky and Marilyn know all about.
:17:29. > :17:33.They both need visual aids to help them put their cross in the box.
:17:34. > :17:38.We went to get my ballot paper and I asked for the tactile
:17:39. > :17:43.device which is supposed to help me to vote.
:17:44. > :17:52.I said, I will have to take my support worker
:17:53. > :17:58.I opted for postal vote this year but I couldn't put it
:17:59. > :18:01.back in into the envelope because you have to fold at a certain way.
:18:02. > :18:04.You have to make sure that envelope A has got voting slip A.
:18:05. > :18:06.It is all just a huge inconvenience for
:18:07. > :18:10.something that is so simple and can be made so simple.
:18:11. > :18:13.Across Wales, charities are working hard to make sure
:18:14. > :18:15.the voices of disabled people are heard.
:18:16. > :18:19.We have seen major improvements over the years.
:18:20. > :18:22.Yet, quite often, disabled people are left to feel
:18:23. > :18:25.second-class citizens and we want to see radical action
:18:26. > :18:30.taken by national government and locally to ensure all accessible
:18:31. > :18:34.polling stations are available to all disabled people, and disabled
:18:35. > :18:38.people can access and cast their vote along with everybody else.
:18:39. > :18:41.Would you know what this is all about?
:18:42. > :18:43.Charlie is one of 65,000 people in Wales who have
:18:44. > :18:49.In the last Assembly elections only one in five people
:18:50. > :18:57.I won't be voting because on the ballot paper words
:18:58. > :19:06.Make it easier for me, the ballot papers,
:19:07. > :19:10.is to explain a bit more how to do it.
:19:11. > :19:13.Many of the decisions that affect disabled people are made
:19:14. > :19:18.by elected politicians but charities say there is still inequalities
:19:19. > :19:21.in the voting system, denying disabled people
:19:22. > :19:28.the right to a private, independent vote.
:19:29. > :19:33.The election campaign's nearly over, but we've still got a couple
:19:34. > :19:35.of My Manifesto stories to bring you.
:19:36. > :19:38.Over the past few weeks we've been asking people what they'd do
:19:39. > :19:44.We've been to see Teifi Davies from Ceredigion, he says he'd
:19:45. > :19:49.support farmers to keep rural communities alive.
:19:50. > :19:52.Teifi Davies used to be a dairy farmer but couldn't make a profit
:19:53. > :19:56.He changed tack and now sells his own beef and
:19:57. > :19:59.vegetables alongside other local produce at his farm shop near
:20:00. > :20:04.He tweeted us to say what he would do if he was
:20:05. > :20:09.Help rural Wales especially farming and tourism.
:20:10. > :20:12.Teifi still farms over 100 acres and says it is
:20:13. > :20:16.a tough time for those still in the milk business.
:20:17. > :20:18.Prices are as low as 10p a litre while we
:20:19. > :20:24.were getting twice that much and more in the '80s and '90s.
:20:25. > :20:26.If you have a reasonable prosperous farmer,
:20:27. > :20:31.he will spend his money in the local countryside and up to 60 other
:20:32. > :20:36.Farmers haven't got money, the countryside suffers.
:20:37. > :20:41.Over in Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan,
:20:42. > :20:46.The price of sheep is at the top of the agenda.
:20:47. > :20:48.From week to week it has been difficult.
:20:49. > :20:51.Farmers don't know when they come to market what they are
:20:52. > :20:55.How does the price compare this year to last year?
:20:56. > :20:57.Probably down by about ?10 to ?12 ahead.
:20:58. > :21:00.That is a significant change, isn't it?
:21:01. > :21:03.Tony Williams brings his grandson Lewis to the mart every week
:21:04. > :21:09.He rents land near Barry and has only been farming for six years.
:21:10. > :21:13.He says he'd like to see the return of council run farms so tenants
:21:14. > :21:17.like him can take out long leases and build up a business.

:21:21. > :21:23.paperwork and provide more council farms.
:21:24. > :21:26.There is nothing I can rent from them.
:21:27. > :21:31.I have to try to get from local landowners and they are very
:21:32. > :21:35.reluctant to let any ground for modern 12 months.
:21:36. > :21:38.I built the sheep numbers up and then for one reason
:21:39. > :21:40.or another I lost the ground the following year.
:21:41. > :21:43.I had nowhere to put the sheep so I had to sell
:21:44. > :21:51.For the little one, it would be nice to be able to think
:21:52. > :21:54.I could have something to leave to him.

:23:52. > :23:56.two years all be Welsh nests have produced 22 checks. We are on the

:24:16. > :24:22.information. Our aim is to improve the number of ospreys in Wales. Just
