:00:15. > :00:17.on plastic food packaging, to reduce its impact

:00:18. > :00:24.When the weather is this good, thousands of us head to the beach

:00:25. > :00:29.but what about the packaging that food comes in?

:00:30. > :00:32.Plastic containers cause problems for wildlife as it breaks down

:00:33. > :00:37.and even when it is put in the bin it is not always easy to recycle.

:00:38. > :00:40.On the rocky shores of Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan,

:00:41. > :00:43.the beach looks spotless from a distance but look closer

:00:44. > :00:47.and you will still find plastic that has broken down.

:00:48. > :00:51.These small pieces of plastic break down and even though we can't see

:00:52. > :00:55.them, there will be micro-plastic dust and that affects right the way

:00:56. > :01:00.To illustrate how much plastic we use, the Marine

:01:01. > :01:04.Conservation Society wants us to try its plastic challenge.

:01:05. > :01:07.Try to go for the month of June without using any

:01:08. > :01:13.It also wants a charge brought in for plastic takeaway containers

:01:14. > :01:18.We very much encourage people to recycle their plastic

:01:19. > :01:26.Everybody used to take a carrier bag, throw it away,

:01:27. > :01:29.but now it has a value because you have to pay that minimum

:01:30. > :01:32.fee for it and you think there is worth in that.

:01:33. > :01:35.On a busy day in Porthcawl, what do people make of the idea

:01:36. > :01:38.of using less plastic or charging more for it?

:01:39. > :01:47.We do get a lot of plastic along here.

:01:48. > :01:51.It would make people think about what they are buying.

:01:52. > :01:56.It keeps everything fresh in the fridge so probably not.

:01:57. > :01:59.The Welsh government says it is currently evaluating

:02:00. > :02:02.its strategy to reduce waste to benefit the economy

:02:03. > :02:07.A man has died after the tractor he was driving overturned.

:02:08. > :02:11.The 50-year-old was found yesterday in Llanharan in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

:03:10. > :03:17.As Chris Coleman and the Wales camp make their final preparations

:03:22. > :03:26.But for the family of Gary Speed, it is also a poignant

:03:27. > :03:32.The 42-year-old had been in charge of the Wales team for less

:03:33. > :03:35.than a year when he died in November 2011.

:03:36. > :03:39.But the memory of him as a player and manager still endures.

:03:40. > :03:43.At every match, the supporters and the Barry Hornes,

:03:44. > :03:50.They still sing about him at the games, which is really good.

:03:51. > :04:05.I don't think he will ever be forgotten,

:04:06. > :04:09.especially if they get to finals, proper finals.

:04:10. > :04:12.I think he will be remembered even more.

:04:13. > :04:15.Not taking anything away from Chris because Chris is doing a great job.

:04:16. > :04:18.Roger Speed remains close to Chris Coleman and his squad.

:04:19. > :04:22.He will be travelling to France with the Wales team and will be

:04:23. > :04:25.at their matches as a guest of the Football Association of Wales.

:04:26. > :04:27.He hopes his grandsons will join him at the tournament

:04:28. > :04:33.and he is sure his son will be watching too.

:04:34. > :04:35.He will be there in the lads' minds, I'm sure he will.
