:00:00. > :00:00.have about Uber's uncontrolled growth. Join me now on and

:00:00. > :00:00.Our top stories: 30,000 people here, like Janet Lloyd, have

:00:07. > :00:10.A call for more research amid claims Wales has

:00:11. > :00:15.Police investigate a three day illegal rave held

:00:16. > :00:21.Locals call for action to ensure more aren't held.

:00:22. > :00:23.And how cutting edge science is being used to create

:00:24. > :00:40.a possible rival to Bodnant Gardens' Laburnum Arch.

:00:41. > :00:45.Wales has the highest prevalence of heart failure in the UK,

:00:46. > :00:49.The British Heart Foundation says more than 30,000 people here have

:00:50. > :00:52.been diagnosed, and nearly a third of patients admitted to hospital

:00:53. > :00:59.The charity says more research is urgently needed.

:01:00. > :01:05.Heart failure is most commonly caused by a heart attack

:01:06. > :01:07.which causes irreparable damage and if patients survive

:01:08. > :01:11.they can often find everyday things extremely tiring.

:01:12. > :01:14.More than half a million people across Britain have been

:01:15. > :01:22.Here in Wales 30,000 have been diagnosed,

:01:23. > :01:26.the highest percentage the size of population.

:01:27. > :01:30.The figures that have been published today show that we have got 30,000

:01:31. > :01:32.people living with heart failure in Wales and unfortunately Wales has

:01:33. > :01:35.the highest rates of heart failure in the UK.

:01:36. > :01:38.It is quite concerning for the health service, for us

:01:39. > :01:41.as a charity and it is certainly concerning for families and those

:01:42. > :01:49.Janet Lloyd from Swansea had a triple bypass 20 years ago but now

:01:50. > :01:52.one of the valves isn't working properly again.

:01:53. > :01:55.She can no longer tend to her garden and gets breathless doing

:01:56. > :02:04.It is constant gasping for breath, particularly going up.

:02:05. > :02:15.There is no cure for heart failure and the only hope for those

:02:16. > :02:17.with severe heart failure is a transplant.

:02:18. > :02:22.But the British Heart Foundation says more research is needed.

:02:23. > :02:24.We certainly need to find out what causes heart failure,

:02:25. > :02:30.Until we get the research done there will never be a cure for it.

:02:31. > :02:33.Then people will just be living their lives slowly or in some

:02:34. > :02:40.To combat that here in Wales the charity is funding a team

:02:41. > :02:42.of researchers at Cardiff University to investigate defects in heart

:02:43. > :02:47.muscle cells that can lead to abnormal heart rhythms.

:02:48. > :02:50.In the last year the British Heart Foundation have invested just over

:02:51. > :02:54.?2 million in our group with the aim of understanding why these abnormal

:02:55. > :03:00.heart rhythms develop and ultimately to find a cure for those.

:03:01. > :03:02.Do you think finding a cure will be possible

:03:03. > :03:11.Certainly there has been a lot of progress over the last few years.

:03:12. > :03:14.One of our particular focuses is trying to develop a drug that

:03:15. > :03:15.could be given to people with abnormal rhythms

:03:16. > :03:21.The problem with that is that it will take up to five

:03:22. > :03:26.That drug could be too far in the future for Janet Lloyd,

:03:27. > :03:28.but if successful could benefit generations to come and ultimately

:03:29. > :03:32.rid Wales of its record as heart disease capital of the UK.

:03:33. > :03:35.Police are investigating after around 2,000 people turned up

:03:36. > :03:37.for a three-day illegal rave in Ceredigion over

:03:38. > :03:43.Officers were called to the remote location near Llanddewi Brefi

:03:44. > :03:46.late on Saturday night, but decided not to break up

:03:47. > :03:49.the event due to the large number of people there.

:03:50. > :03:53.Local people have called for action to ensure more raves are not held.

:03:54. > :04:00.It's the perfect spot for a family day out.

:04:01. > :04:03.This forestry land is popular with dog walkers, cyclists and those

:04:04. > :04:07.who come to enjoy the lake, but over the bank holiday weekend

:04:08. > :04:18.Around 2,000 people descended en masse for a three day illegal rave

:04:19. > :04:24.with last minute texts and e-mails relaying the secret location.

:04:25. > :04:27.Police say they made a number of drug arrests, but did not

:04:28. > :04:39.break it up because of the sheer numbers involved.

:04:40. > :04:41.The rave was at this beautiful and remote location

:04:42. > :04:43.but there were complaints about the noise from the other

:04:44. > :04:49.Scattered about are signs of the mess left behind,

:04:50. > :04:52.but rubbish was not a big problem one visitor told me,

:04:53. > :04:56.given the obvious attempt to clear up and leave it bagged

:04:57. > :05:13.think they had become Ian is here are quite benign. They respect the

:05:14. > :05:16.countryside the same as other people do.

:05:17. > :05:19.Isolated as it is, it seems illegal raves have been making a comeback

:05:20. > :05:23.In the nearby village of Llandewi Brefi, I was told this

:05:24. > :05:36.There has been quite a few here in the last two or three years. They

:05:37. > :05:44.might be one or two a year. Is it a worry? As long as it's quiet and the

:05:45. > :05:51.same as it has been, there is no problem. They can do whatever they

:05:52. > :05:55.want a player as long as they keep us happy down here.

:05:56. > :05:58.Others strongly disagree, not least because the site has no

:05:59. > :06:00.toilets or running water and they want more action

:06:01. > :06:02.now to prevent raves from happening in the future.

:06:03. > :06:04.An investigation's under way at a Swansea hospital after two

:06:05. > :06:06.patients experienced "unexplained" low blood sugar.

:06:07. > :06:08.Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Health Board said additional security measures

:06:09. > :06:10.have been put in place at Singleton Hospital as a

:06:11. > :06:14.The two patients have made a full recovery and have

:06:15. > :06:21.No other patients are thought to have been affected.

:06:22. > :06:25.Workers at one of the UK's biggest food manufacturers have begun a two

:06:26. > :06:27.day strike over changes to terms and conditions.

:06:28. > :06:30.A union at R.F. Brookes, near Newport,

:06:31. > :06:34.to cut shift allowances for more than 100 workers,

:06:35. > :06:38.so it can afford to pay everyone the new so-called "living wage".

:06:39. > :06:40.The 2 Sisters food group, which owns the site,

:06:41. > :06:43.says it's "misleading" to link the new pay deal

:06:44. > :06:50.BBC Wales understands there are serious concerns tonight

:06:51. > :06:53.for hundreds of customers who have booked coach trips with

:06:54. > :06:55.a Pembrokeshire based company, which intends

:06:56. > :07:00.Silcox Coaches has bases in Pembroke Dock and Tenby.

:07:01. > :07:04.Around 100 jobs, including drivers and office roles, are also at risk.

:07:05. > :07:27.Big Wales football fan Liam Williams was looking forward

:07:28. > :07:30.The anniversary of the Queen's coronation was marked

:07:31. > :07:37.A royal gun salute was fired at noon outside City Hall and military bands

:07:38. > :07:39.played to celebrate 63 years since Britain's longest reigning

:07:40. > :07:53.At Bodnant Garden in the Conwy valley, thousands of visitors have

:07:54. > :07:55.arrived this week to see its famous Labernam Arch in full flower.

:07:56. > :08:00.But could it soon have a rival and one produced using

:08:01. > :08:08.No matter how many times you see it, Bodnant's Labernam Arch

:08:09. > :08:12.It's little wonder then that visitors come here

:08:13. > :08:15.from across the world at this time of year.

:08:16. > :08:19.An artist's impression of what National Trust gardeners say

:08:20. > :08:28.You'll have tall rhododendrons with cinnamon smooth bark

:08:29. > :08:35.The Penjerrick Walk's under construction.

:08:36. > :08:41.You have to be able to look into the future and I am convinced

:08:42. > :08:44.this is going to be another Labernam Arch here at bottom

:08:45. > :08:47.and garden and will have people doing the walk we have

:08:48. > :08:50.done just to see this and be wowed by it.

:08:51. > :08:54.Well, Penjerrick rhododendrons are extremely rare.

:08:55. > :08:57.These have been micro-propagated in a lab.

:08:58. > :09:00.The test tube babies of the plant world.

:09:01. > :09:03.It's all part of a programme to transform Bodnant.

:09:04. > :09:06.Five years ago there were 25 acres of garden.

:09:07. > :09:12.We are trying to provide a mixture of blends so people can see

:09:13. > :09:18.But we're doing things also that take longer and when they do take

:09:19. > :09:20.longer we let them know and hopefully take them with us

:09:21. > :09:22.so they can see it year-on-year changing and developing

:09:23. > :09:26.The new Penjerrick Walk will take years to develop, decades perhaps.

:09:27. > :09:34.At Bodnant they insist the wait will be worth it.

:09:35. > :09:43.Let's return now to that story from earlier. There are concerns the

:09:44. > :09:49.night for hundreds of customers who have booked trips with a coach

:09:50. > :09:55.company which is expected to go into administration.

:09:56. > :09:58.Big Wales football fan Liam Williams was looking forward

:09:59. > :10:03.After being one of the lucky ones to get his hands on a pair

:10:04. > :10:06.of tickets to the Wales England match at the upcoming

:10:07. > :10:08.European Championship he booked a coach trip package

:10:09. > :10:11.Or at least, that is what he thought.

:10:12. > :10:14.But since hearing the company he had booked with, Silcox Coaches,

:10:15. > :10:17.intends to file for administration he is now worried he won't make it

:10:18. > :10:22.I probably won't see this happen again in my lifetime.

:10:23. > :10:25.Wales against England in a European Championship.

:10:26. > :10:28.It is not great with the uncertainty but hopefully we'll have some good

:10:29. > :10:31.news with regards to a replacement company, but at the moment there has

:10:32. > :10:39.not been much communication with the company at all.

:10:40. > :10:41.As well as worried customers, Silcox coach drivers stood around

:10:42. > :10:47.The company has been operating in Pembrokeshire since the 1930s

:10:48. > :10:51.and currently employs around 100 staff.

:10:52. > :10:55.But over the bank holiday weekend it came to light the company may soon

:10:56. > :11:02.This is Silcox's main yard here in Pembroke Dock and as you can

:11:03. > :11:05.see behind me a number of coaches are parked up.

:11:06. > :11:09.Earlier on today more than half a dozen blue Edwards coaches turned

:11:10. > :11:11.up here as the company prepares to take responsibility

:11:12. > :11:14.for school transport routes across South Pembrokeshire

:11:15. > :11:19.With around 2,000 children in the county who rely

:11:20. > :11:22.on buses to get to school, the council says it has had

:11:23. > :11:27.to act quickly over half term to find a solution.

:11:28. > :11:29.We are fortunate that with our own team and some

:11:30. > :11:32.of the teams from both Edwards Coaches and the other

:11:33. > :11:35.operators in the area, they have pulled together very well

:11:36. > :11:39.in helping us to make sure we have service continuity for next Monday.

:11:40. > :11:41.There has been no official comment from Silcox Coaches yet,

:11:42. > :11:43.but the Confederation of Passenger transport UK says it wants

:11:44. > :11:47.to reassure customers that it's carrying out a full review

:11:48. > :11:50.of the company's situation and will give an update on Monday.

:11:51. > :11:54.So for people like Liam the wait continues, but it's hoped this

:11:55. > :12:00.won't be the end of the road for this football fan's dream.

:12:01. > :12:03.Time to find out if there's more sunshine on the way tomorrow.

:12:04. > :12:17.Wales is definitely the place to be at the moment. The whole country

:12:18. > :12:22.that skiing in sunshine today and more sunshine to come tomorrow.

:12:23. > :12:31.Tonight the skies remain clear so it will turn quite cool. Tomorrow

:12:32. > :12:33.morning try again and sunny the most diverse but some cloud likely in the

:12:34. > :12:53.far south-east. Further west, plenty of sunshine.

:12:54. > :12:56.Note that -- lovely in Northern Ireland and sunshine for the South

:12:57. > :13:02.of Scotland and North West of England. Temperatures up to a warm

:13:03. > :13:08.18 Celsius in Belfast but much cooler on the East close, only 13

:13:09. > :13:13.Celsius in Skegness. A fine afternoon in Wales tomorrow. A few

:13:14. > :13:21.fair weather clouds and plenty more sunshine and pleasantly warm. The

:13:22. > :13:25.pollen count is on the rise. Tomorrow night a bit of a change.

:13:26. > :13:30.Cloud will spread westwards bringing spots of rain with it and also some

:13:31. > :13:35.missed until fog but staying dry in the south-west. Saturday not quite

:13:36. > :13:39.so nice. Some missed but that will lift and a few showers breaking out

:13:40. > :13:47.and they could turn heavy in places with thunder. Sunday will be the

:13:48. > :13:51.better Dave most of us. Drier and sunnier. Warm as well. A few

:13:52. > :13:57.thundery showers breaking out during the afternoon. It looks like there

:13:58. > :14:01.is more warm weather to come next week with the risk of a few heavy

:14:02. > :14:05.showers. That is all from me. Good night.

:14:06. > :14:08.We'll have updates from around 6.25am
