:00:19. > :00:22.An industry body has warned that Europe's steel industry

:00:23. > :00:24."won't survive" if the European Union grants China a special

:00:25. > :00:28.The European Steel Association has urged the EU to dismiss the idea,

:00:29. > :00:30.saying the country's steel would flood the market.

:00:31. > :00:32.Thousands of Welsh steel jobs are at risk, following Tata's

:00:33. > :00:41.Here's our political reporter, James Williams.

:00:42. > :00:47.With a steel crisis continuing to cast a long shadow, referendum

:00:48. > :00:53.campaigners from both sides of the debate have a different take on the

:00:54. > :01:00.role of ruffles. Welsh Steelworkers back in February urging the EU to

:01:01. > :01:04.take action against cheap Chinese steel. Taxes have since been raised

:01:05. > :01:10.on some products but the industry have other concerns. Do you believe

:01:11. > :01:15.if China is granted market economy status it would make the steel

:01:16. > :01:22.crisis worse? I think we will not survive. The dimension of the

:01:23. > :01:27.Chinese access steel capacity is such that it would cause the

:01:28. > :01:33.non-survival of the European steel industry. China does not currently

:01:34. > :01:39.have nonmarket economy status because the government is seen to

:01:40. > :01:42.interfere in the market. The government is considering granting

:01:43. > :01:51.China at this special status which could mean its exports attract lower

:01:52. > :01:54.taxes. The European Commission which has been investigating Chinese steel

:01:55. > :02:00.dumping for the last ten years without taking any action is clearly

:02:01. > :02:04.not acting in our best interest. I think we have a much better chance

:02:05. > :02:10.of protecting the steel industry at the EU level than a UK level.

:02:11. > :02:14.Currently the EU Parliament position is we would not accept economy

:02:15. > :02:21.market status or China. The relationship with the EU and the

:02:22. > :02:26.fate of welsh Steelworkers are two big question is soon to be answered

:02:27. > :02:28.that would shape our future for years to come.

:02:29. > :02:31.Four men have been jailed in Thailand for attacking a couple

:02:32. > :02:33.in their sixties from the Vale of Glamorgan.

:02:34. > :02:36.and Lewis Owen from Wenvoe, and their son, were hospitalised

:02:37. > :02:38.following the attack, which happened during the Thai New Year

:02:39. > :02:42.Only five local authorities in Wales have rehoused Syrian refugees,

:02:43. > :02:46.Home Office figures show Wales resettled 78 Syrian refugees

:02:47. > :02:51.The Welsh Local Government Association says more councils

:02:52. > :02:55.will receive refugees later this year.

:02:56. > :02:58.Firefighters are tackling a grass fire on Alltwen

:02:59. > :03:03.It started last night - and North Wales Fire Service

:03:04. > :03:05.is asking anyone living nearby to close their windows

:03:06. > :03:11.The American takeover of Swansea City Football Club,

:03:12. > :03:14.worth an estimated ?100 million, has been completed.

:03:15. > :03:18.A consortium has bought a controlling 60% stake.

:03:19. > :03:21.They must now pass the Premier League's test for prospective

:03:22. > :03:24.owners, for it to be officially approved.

:03:25. > :03:29.The Supporters' Trust will retain its 21% stake.

:03:30. > :03:33.It was a disappointing end to Wales' preparations for Euro 2016.

:03:34. > :03:36.They were beaten 3-0 by Sweden, in their last warm-up match before

:03:37. > :03:39.heading to France to face Slovakia in six days' time.

:03:40. > :03:42.From Stockholm, Tomos Dafydd reports.

:03:43. > :03:48.Zlatan! Zlatan!

:03:49. > :03:56.There was a friendly atmosphere for the only Welsh warm up match ahead

:03:57. > :04:03.of the tournament proper. All teams where keen to avoid any last-minute

:04:04. > :04:08.injuries. Lying back and soaking it all up we are here for the start of

:04:09. > :04:13.our campaign. Wills are now going to play on the highest stage. It is a

:04:14. > :04:17.massive event for Wales and it has been a long time coming. Gareth Bale

:04:18. > :04:22.did not start the match and there were some anxious moments for those

:04:23. > :04:28.who did. First David Vaughan bundled over then the all took out Johnny

:04:29. > :04:37.Williams. The breakthrough came just before half-time, the Wales defence

:04:38. > :04:40.are undone by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. While Wales failed to register any

:04:41. > :04:47.shots on goal in the Sweden took control and double their lead, Wales

:04:48. > :04:54.twice cleared but could not keep out the third attempt. With half an hour

:04:55. > :04:58.left the star welsh player Gareth Beal made his first appearance in

:04:59. > :05:04.eight months for his country and sure enough soon threatened up front

:05:05. > :05:09.but the last word went to Sweden, a third goal and plenty for Chris

:05:10. > :05:14.Coleman to ponder. His side has won just once in seven games. We did not

:05:15. > :05:19.get what we wanted in every aspect to be honest but in saying that we

:05:20. > :05:24.have to make sure we are positive for the players, build them up this

:05:25. > :05:28.week and get them ready. Now we can look forward to going to the Euros

:05:29. > :05:33.and show them what we are capable of doing but obviously we have to play

:05:34. > :05:38.a lot better than we did today. The final warm up game is done and

:05:39. > :05:45.players are arriving tonight at their base in northern France. Or

:05:46. > :05:48.the coming days many fans will make the same journey. The pressure is

:05:49. > :05:52.building at the championships. A quick look at the weather

:05:53. > :05:55.and after a dry, but muggy night, tomorrow will be another warm

:05:56. > :05:59.and sunny day, with just the odd
