:01:16. > :01:19.for example, and at times, the two men were jovial.

:01:20. > :01:23.But the claims were serious as they made their case to remain

:01:24. > :01:28.in terms of potential benefits, for security, cheaper energy bills,

:01:29. > :01:32.but time and time again, they returned to the economy.

:02:08. > :02:11.Their constant deluge of prophecies of doom,

:02:12. > :02:16.of putting fear in people because the world will come

:02:17. > :02:19.to an end if they vote to leave, are not being believed

:02:35. > :02:38.and public spending could be cut in the event of a Brexit.

:02:39. > :02:43.But 57 Conservative MPs have signed a joint statement saying they would

:02:44. > :02:50.There is desperation on both sides, and I've already said there's

:02:51. > :02:58.It was unprecedented to see the leader of the Conservative Party

:02:59. > :03:01.and the leader of Welsh Labour agreeing on so much.

:03:02. > :03:05.They did it in one of Wales' biggest call centres.

:03:06. > :03:07.The question is whether anyone's listening at this late

:05:16. > :05:18.You can see that the police are quick to respond.

:05:19. > :05:20.It's just finding out what's going on.

:05:21. > :05:23.Just before, a large number of England fans gathered in the bars

:05:24. > :05:25.of one of the squares, goading Russian fans

:05:26. > :05:31.And as always, there are plenty of police to watch the performance.

:05:32. > :05:34.In preparation for any trouble, there are an extra 4000 officers

:05:35. > :05:39.Around 350 bars will close earlier than normal,

:05:40. > :05:44.In the fan zone, which can hold 30,000, they are serving

:05:45. > :05:48.Authorities have also banned the sale of alcohol

:05:49. > :05:51.in shops or supermarkets, but that is proving

:05:52. > :05:56.I think any city in the world who has introduced that type

:05:57. > :06:02.of licensing legislation, within a matter of hours and a city

:06:03. > :06:06.the size of Lille, to try and police that 100%,

:06:14. > :06:18.I don't know how they could impose that anyway with so many

:06:19. > :06:22.You've got the fan zones selling beer, you've got

:06:23. > :06:28.There are just too many outlets to sell alcohol and it would be

:06:29. > :06:33.What people need to bear in mind, they say alcohol fuels violence,

:06:34. > :06:39.this is premeditated violence by hooligans who are not drinking.

:06:40. > :06:41.The police have been quick to respond to any

:06:42. > :06:42.disturbances tonight, releasing tear gas to instantly

:08:35. > :08:39.when his body was found in Conwy in September.

:08:40. > :08:41.More than two thirds of Assembly Members have

:08:42. > :08:43.signed a letter to the BBC Director General, Tony Hall,

:08:44. > :08:46.demanding he is specific about how much extra money he intends

:08:47. > :08:52.In 2014, Lord Hall told an audience in Cardiff that English-language

:08:53. > :08:56.television programming in Wales had been eroded and he subsequently said

:08:57. > :09:02.he planned to allocate additional funding to the nations.

:09:03. > :09:05.The most rare species of animal, bird and plant in Wales are to be

:09:06. > :09:09.assigned an Assembly Member each to champion their cause.

:09:10. > :09:12.It follows a similar scheme undertaken by members

:09:13. > :09:17.From dormice to dolphins, 60 examples of the most threatened

:09:18. > :09:19.wildlife in Wales will be paired with a politician.

:09:20. > :09:30.Our environment correspondent, Steffan Messenger, has the details.

:09:31. > :09:37.Meet the water vole, one of Wales's rarest animals. A new scheme means

:09:38. > :09:43.it has its own Assembly Member. Every introduction Project in John

:09:44. > :09:50.Griffiths's constituency has seen the furry creature make a comeback.

:09:51. > :09:58.Whatever aspect of nature we use to engage with people is really

:09:59. > :10:02.valuable to get key messages across. 60 of our most threatened animals,

:10:03. > :10:07.birds and plants will be paired with politicians as part of the species

:10:08. > :10:11.champion programme. They will offer an information and opportunities to

:10:12. > :10:15.take part in conservation work. But it's more than just a gimmick. The

:10:16. > :10:21.Assembly members have a particular important role to play when it comes

:10:22. > :10:25.to nature conservation. Wales has international targets to hit around

:10:26. > :10:31.reducing habitat and wildlife loss by 2020. That includes seeing a

:10:32. > :10:35.marked recovery in numbers of threatened species like the

:10:36. > :10:44.dormouse, wiped out in parts of England. In Wales, they will be

:10:45. > :10:48.championed by this man. We know from a report launched a couple of years

:10:49. > :10:53.ago that we are losing 60% of the species in the UK with almost one in

:10:54. > :10:58.ten species at the point of extinction. Most people did not know

:10:59. > :11:02.about that and that is why we need a champions to highlight their plight

:11:03. > :11:06.and help the government reversed the trends in their decline. The

:11:07. > :11:10.charities say a similar scheme in the Scottish Parliament has put more

:11:11. > :11:13.of a focus on nature within politics. They hope the Welsh

:11:14. > :11:14.Assembly can now follow Scotland's tracks.

:11:15. > :11:17.The iconic steam train The Flying Scotsman attracted crowds

:11:18. > :11:19.of over five 500 people at Llandudno Junction today,

:11:20. > :11:23.Enthusiasts gathered to watch the famous train pass

:11:24. > :11:27.through on its way from Crewe to Holyhead with a 20-minute stop

:11:28. > :11:40.giving plenty of opportunities for photos.

:11:41. > :11:48.Greetings. More dramatic with other parts of Wales today. Thunderstorms,

:11:49. > :11:55.pale and flash flooding in places. But some places stayed dry and

:11:56. > :11:59.sunny. The thunderstorms are now dying down. Still a few showers

:12:00. > :12:03.around overnight but most places becoming dry with temperatures

:12:04. > :12:08.staying in double figures. For tomorrow morning, most places. Try,

:12:09. > :12:12.Brighton parts of the West, sunshine, but if you showers around

:12:13. > :12:16.as well and more war brought during the morning telling had been places.

:12:17. > :12:21.Across the rest of the UK, heavily thundery showers will break out

:12:22. > :12:25.across England, torrential downpours in places, but they will be hit and

:12:26. > :12:41.miss, if you spots will stay dry and sunny.

:12:42. > :12:45.Northern Ireland and Scotland, cloudy and cool, spots of rain and

:12:46. > :12:47.drizzle, most of the rain in north-east sock Scotland. There is a

:12:48. > :12:49.Met Office warning in force for more heavy downpours and thunderstorms

:12:50. > :12:53.tomorrow. Torrential rain in places. Parts of the North and west likely

:12:54. > :12:59.to stay dry. A top temperature of 20 Celsius. Over to France now and the

:13:00. > :13:05.weather tomorrow, heavy showers, maybe a thunderstorm, the high 19

:13:06. > :13:10.Celsius. On Friday, dry weather and sunshine, a few showers breaking

:13:11. > :13:14.out, most in the south. And good news for the weekend. Better weather

:13:15. > :13:18.on the way, turning dry and more settled. The best of the sunshine

:13:19. > :13:19.likely on Saturday and feeling fresher.

:13:20. > :13:22.And don't forget, we'll have all the build-up to the Wales'

:13:23. > :13:25.England Euro 2016 game throughout the day tomorrow and there'll be

:13:26. > :13:27.reaction to the result live from Lens at 6:30pm.

:13:28. > :13:33.For now, from all of us here, good night.
