:00:00. > :00:00.Welcome to Wales Today, live from Lens, where Wales lose

:00:00. > :00:17.Steps to the right, chest puffed out, and strikes brilliantly! Gareth

:00:18. > :00:18.Bale! It started well, Bale

:00:19. > :00:20.giving Wales the lead. But England hit back to win 2-1

:00:21. > :00:23.in the dying moments - a place in the knock-out stages

:00:24. > :00:34.in the balance. The tournament is not over yet. We

:00:35. > :00:42.are still in the thick of it, and we go into the next game with even more

:00:43. > :00:44.strength. Despair and disappointment for the

:00:45. > :00:47.fans and read, here and at home. Here in nearby Lille,

:00:48. > :00:56.there have been high levels But they say it will not stop their

:00:57. > :00:59.enjoyment and night. We are going to have a couple of drinks, and a laugh

:01:00. > :01:03.with the England fans, which we have all day. They have been absolutely

:01:04. > :01:04.brilliant, the England fans. It has been a great atmosphere.

:01:05. > :01:07.Also tonight: Welsh politicians pay tribute to MP Jo Cox who's died

:01:08. > :01:25.It was a cruel end to the game, wasn't it?

:01:26. > :01:28.A win for Wales would have seen them through to the knock-out stages.

:01:29. > :01:31.Now it's all on the last game against Russia

:01:32. > :01:40.33,000 fans in the stadium witnessed an England comeback.

:01:41. > :01:44.Another 10,000 here in the fan zone, gathering to watch Northern Ireland

:01:45. > :02:00.This small city has never seen anything like it.

:02:01. > :02:05.Tens of thousands descended here from first light, some having driven

:02:06. > :02:08.thousands of miles just to watch this or British and cancer. Things

:02:09. > :02:12.are good-natured here between the fans, but early on, there was one

:02:13. > :02:16.incident, when the outer perimeter fence was breached, and an England

:02:17. > :02:19.fan had fallen over and injured himself. But the authorities and

:02:20. > :02:24.police moved in and an order was soon restored. As Wales, their fate

:02:25. > :02:28.is still in their hands. He win against Russia on Monday, and they

:02:29. > :02:31.through. So, an eventful afternoon.

:02:32. > :02:43.Songs of support that carried their team for 90 minutes, but they left

:02:44. > :02:48.the stadium devastated, but still hopeful of a place in the last 16.

:02:49. > :02:50.My hope is for the boys to get their heads up. It is not the end of the

:02:51. > :02:52.world. We will still have a great chance to

:02:53. > :02:56.qualify. So disappointed at the end there. I

:02:57. > :03:01.thought we were just going to hold on, but it was not to be.

:03:02. > :03:08.We are Wales. We beat Russia, we go through! We march on!, on, Wales!,

:03:09. > :03:11.next macro it was a late, last gasp effort, but even Gareth Bale

:03:12. > :03:14.couldn't rescue his team at the death.

:03:15. > :03:17.Disappointed at the moment, but we are still strong inside, we still

:03:18. > :03:21.feel happy, we are enjoying the experience, and we still have one

:03:22. > :03:24.more game to go, and if the tournament -- the tournament is not

:03:25. > :03:28.over yet. We are still in the thick of it, and we go into the next game

:03:29. > :03:31.with even more strength. It all started nervously. An early

:03:32. > :03:35.error from Ashley Williams could have proven costly for Wales. They

:03:36. > :03:40.recovered to be rocked soon after, when riding sterling should have

:03:41. > :03:43.done better in front of goal. -- Raheem Sterling. Although in the

:03:44. > :03:47.minority, supporters in red whereas vocal as ever.

:03:48. > :03:49.We macro those fans are trying to lift their side.

:03:50. > :03:55.While their players were put under constant pressure. England look

:03:56. > :03:58.dangerous, Coleman looked on nervously. Wales and Gareth Bale

:03:59. > :04:03.only need one chance. The free kick looked a bit far out. Not for this

:04:04. > :04:07.man. Gareth Bale, with a moment of

:04:08. > :04:10.absolute genius! With England training there were

:04:11. > :04:12.trailing, Roy Hodgson's team returned with intent after the

:04:13. > :04:17.break. A really positive start for England.

:04:18. > :04:22.Wayne Henessey was heroic Ingol, but with England pressing, defence

:04:23. > :04:25.stretched and England in the box, the keeper could do little to say

:04:26. > :04:28.Jamie buddy Buzz Bacharach. England did have the odd attempt, and were

:04:29. > :04:33.within reach of a draw. The pressure too much for some. But with England

:04:34. > :04:40.controlling possession, the defence finally broke. Daniel Sturridge beat

:04:41. > :04:45.Hennessy in the box. The fans subdued the Wales squad and

:04:46. > :04:49.manager, gutted. We are disappointed, we are gutted.

:04:50. > :04:53.We have got to move on, we have got to show a reaction. When we play

:04:54. > :04:56.against Monday against a tough Russian team, knowing if we get a

:04:57. > :04:58.good result, we are still in the tournament, so it is still all to

:04:59. > :05:02.play for. So, a fifth consecutive defeat

:05:03. > :05:05.against England, but this one especially hurts for the Wales fans.

:05:06. > :05:10.They came within minutes to a valuable point. Now, the pressure

:05:11. > :05:17.will be on Chris Coleman's men when they face Russia in Toulouse on

:05:18. > :05:20.Monday night. Games between England and Orrell was

:05:21. > :05:24.pretty special, and the atmosphere inside that stadium was electric.

:05:25. > :05:27.Among those watching, the former Wales striker Nathan Blake. I caught

:05:28. > :05:32.up with him later on, and began by asking for his reaction after

:05:33. > :05:40.today's game. Gutted, obviously. It was cruel on

:05:41. > :05:43.Wales. I think, the 47th minute, that was the winner, but they have

:05:44. > :05:51.done what they do. They playdate, they try to counterattack. -- they

:05:52. > :05:54.play deep. You have to give credit to the opposition, you have to give

:05:55. > :05:58.credit to England. They kept going, and they stepped it up, and at

:05:59. > :06:02.times, I felt in the second half, Wales would come into their own, but

:06:03. > :06:06.it was actually England who kicked on again, so you have to give credit

:06:07. > :06:11.where it is due, like I said. It has been a much anticipated

:06:12. > :06:15.match. Just give us an idea of the atmosphere inside that stadium.

:06:16. > :06:19.Amazing, amazing. I have played in some atmospheres, but that was a

:06:20. > :06:25.special atmosphere. I think there were only 38,000 in there, and it

:06:26. > :06:30.was a special atmosphere. But I am a bit exhausted, to be honest with

:06:31. > :06:34.you, after commentary! And just got it, really gutted, for the boys,

:06:35. > :06:37.because they put in such a shift, and they are going to be so

:06:38. > :06:41.devastated. But, you know, I still think we are in a better position

:06:42. > :06:45.than most people thought we would be in, and we go into the Russia game

:06:46. > :06:48.with every opportunity of qualifying, still.

:06:49. > :06:50.And that game becomes crucial on Monday night.

:06:51. > :06:55.Yes, and I think Russia are bubbly one of the three poorest teams in

:06:56. > :06:59.the competition, -- probably. Or one of the three poorest teams I have

:07:00. > :07:02.seen so far. So a confident Wales, they have got a pick themselves up,

:07:03. > :07:05.but they have got three points on the board already. They have got to

:07:06. > :07:11.go into the game with the company they can get three points again.

:07:12. > :07:15.Nathan, thank you very much. I hope you were given some time off

:07:16. > :07:18.work to watch the game! We will be getting the fans' view here and back

:07:19. > :07:20.home later in the programme will stop now, back to Lucy and the rest

:07:21. > :07:23.of the news today. For now, thank you very much.

:07:24. > :07:26.Welsh MPs have been paying tribute to MP Jo Cox.

:07:27. > :07:28.She has died from her injuries after a shooting attack

:07:29. > :07:30.outside her constituency surgery in Birstall, Leeds.

:07:31. > :07:33.Peter Hain called her a rising star and Ann Clwyd has said

:07:34. > :07:37.Labour MP for Llanelli Nia Griffiths has said the attack should not deter

:07:38. > :07:54.She was a live wire. She was always ready to speak out about the issues

:07:55. > :07:59.that she cared particularly about, and as she had been working for

:08:00. > :08:06.Oxfam as policy adviser, then she was particularly interested in

:08:07. > :08:08.international issues, overseas aid. And fluid, paying tribute to MP Jo

:08:09. > :08:11.Cox. -- and fluid. A man on trial for murder has told

:08:12. > :08:15.Swansea Crown Court he lost control and killed his landlord

:08:16. > :08:16.because he was sexually David Craig Ellis, who is 41,

:08:17. > :08:19.admits manslaughter but denies murdering

:08:20. > :08:21.Alec Warburton, who was 59. Mr Ellis says he was angry

:08:22. > :08:24.because Mr Warburton had asked for sexual favours in lieu of rent

:08:25. > :08:27.at their home in Swansea. Business leaders are

:08:28. > :08:34.calling for more support The Federation of Small Businesses

:08:35. > :08:38.says there are benefits to the economy of increasing

:08:39. > :08:41.the number of women entrepreneurs. It recommends more UK

:08:42. > :08:48.and Welsh Government support, better access to finance,

:08:49. > :08:55.and improving diversity. If women were starting businesses in

:08:56. > :08:59.the UK at the same rate as they were starting them in America, we would

:09:00. > :09:04.have 23 billion added to our economy, just from allowing women to

:09:05. > :09:08.reach their full potential. And we wanted to highlight some of the key

:09:09. > :09:11.factors that our hats are holding winning back, and some of the key

:09:12. > :09:12.things that could support and enable them to do that.

:09:13. > :09:15.Welsh MPs say the portrayal of Welsh life on television

:09:16. > :09:17.needs to improve - HERE - and across the UK.

:09:18. > :09:19.The chair of the Welsh Affairs committee, David Davies,

:09:20. > :09:22.also says there are ongoing concerns about the funding of S4C,

:09:23. > :09:24.and Welsh broadcasters should have a stronger voice at the table

:09:25. > :09:28.The BBC says it's announced plans that will address

:09:29. > :09:41.There is good news that much more television is being made in Wales.

:09:42. > :09:44.That's obviously a very good thing, but often, it is TV which is not

:09:45. > :09:48.actually about Wales or set in Wales. So I am not knocking it, but

:09:49. > :09:50.we would like to see Wales depicted a bit more on the TV, as other

:09:51. > :09:51.regions are. Both official EU referendum

:09:52. > :09:53.campaigns have suspended their operations tonight as a mark

:09:54. > :09:56.of respect, following the death of MP Jo Cox, who was attacked

:09:57. > :09:58.in her constituency in West However, earlier today,

:09:59. > :10:02.the leader of Plaid Cymru, Leanne Wood, said she's been taken

:10:03. > :10:04.aback by the strength of the She also believes the timing

:10:05. > :10:11.of the referendum has been a disaster in Wales

:10:12. > :10:14.for the remain side, because they've been unable to pull

:10:15. > :10:16.together a decent campaign. Leave campaigners insist

:10:17. > :10:19.they have the momentum now, and their focus in the final week

:10:20. > :10:22.will be to stop people More from our Political

:10:23. > :10:35.Editor Nick Servini. Under the watchful eyes of Nye

:10:36. > :10:40.Bevan, the founder of the NHS, in Cardiff, Plaid Cymru welcomed an old

:10:41. > :10:45.friend. The former leader of the SNP, Alex Salmond. And it is the

:10:46. > :10:48.NHS, which he and Leanne Wood believe would be under threat if

:10:49. > :10:52.there is a Brexit. In Scotland, we have had to get over

:10:53. > :10:55.this, because obviously, there is a great temptation to give Cameron and

:10:56. > :10:59.Osborne a kicking. Why would you not want to do that? So you have to get

:11:00. > :11:02.across the argument that the reason you don't want to do that is, you

:11:03. > :11:05.have to look at what is coming in behind them. If they fall next week,

:11:06. > :11:11.you bring in Iain Duncan Smith, Boris Johnson and Michael Gove. Each

:11:12. > :11:15.one of those, we know, from John Major, wants to privatise or market

:11:16. > :11:18.eyes or charge for a health service. But it is clear that Leanne Wood

:11:19. > :11:21.doesn't believe that messages cutting through, as she told me she

:11:22. > :11:25.had been taken aback by the strength of feeling towards rising levels of

:11:26. > :11:28.immigration. I have to say, you don't sound

:11:29. > :11:32.confident. Well, the polls are close, and the

:11:33. > :11:36.conversations have been difficult. There is no doubt about that. The

:11:37. > :11:41.logical position is that it is in Wales' best interest to remain. I

:11:42. > :11:45.hope that people will vote with that logic at the forefront of their

:11:46. > :11:48.minds, rather than some of the emotion we have seen dominate this

:11:49. > :11:54.debate so far. Leanne Wood has been the most

:11:55. > :11:57.prominent politician on the Remain side to talk about the problems they

:11:58. > :12:02.face. In a very honest assessment, she said they had been unable to put

:12:03. > :12:04.together a proper, decent campaign within the time frame allowed.

:12:05. > :12:08.Inevitably, this will be seized on by those campaigning to leave, as

:12:09. > :12:15.they try to generate some last-minute momentum.

:12:16. > :12:19.And under the very different days of Tommy Cooper, eight miles away in

:12:20. > :12:24.carefully, a vote leave event was appropriately a far noisier and more

:12:25. > :12:26.jovial affair. The Conservative Cabinet member Chris Grayling

:12:27. > :12:30.rallied the troops for the final push.

:12:31. > :12:34.This is going to be a close result. It is going to be tight, and may

:12:35. > :12:38.come down to a few thousand votes. So this is one of those campaigns

:12:39. > :12:41.where every single person can make a difference.

:12:42. > :12:48.Their mood is a reflection of how they feel. They have seized the

:12:49. > :12:52.moment in the past fortnight. -- we don't want to overhead gives, but we

:12:53. > :12:56.feel as though we're going round and to people, that people are positive,

:12:57. > :12:59.they are expressing their views openly, and with real fervour.

:13:00. > :13:02.The danger is, you might look complacent, as if it is in the bag.

:13:03. > :13:06.That event today felt like a victory rally.

:13:07. > :13:09.It almost did, didn't it? So, to campaign event in two

:13:10. > :13:13.different feeling. One clearly worried and one buoyant. -- two

:13:14. > :13:15.different campaign events. But clearly all that matters is the

:13:16. > :13:16.one outcome, and it clear week's time.

:13:17. > :13:20.Those events happened this morning - since then all campaigning

:13:21. > :13:23.across Wales has been cancelled as a result of the death of Jo Cox.

:13:24. > :13:32.Well, tributes have flooded in, as you would expect, particularly on

:13:33. > :13:37.the Labour side, as she was a Labour MP. You alluded to some earlier. The

:13:38. > :13:42.shadow secretary near Griffith said she was beaming from the news. But

:13:43. > :13:45.the leader of the Welsh Conservatives tweeted that this was

:13:46. > :13:49.since the dreadful. She was killed doing her job, serving her community

:13:50. > :13:54.and constituency. All the campaigning, as you saw there this

:13:55. > :13:58.morning, was suspended and cancelled pretty quickly once the seriousness

:13:59. > :14:01.of the situation emerged. What the impact will be now, of course, we

:14:02. > :14:05.are at a critical stage in the referendum. We simply don't know.

:14:06. > :14:08.What we know is that this is a political establishment in a state

:14:09. > :14:15.of shock here. The final word from Stephen Kinnock, the Aberavon MP,

:14:16. > :14:18.who said that this pose serious security implications for our

:14:19. > :14:21.elected members, and a look would have to be taken on how our

:14:22. > :14:21.politicians are considered fair game.

:14:22. > :14:23.Thank you very much for that. Wales is at the forefront

:14:24. > :14:26.of training the next Associated British Ports say

:14:27. > :14:29.an apprenticeship being run here - the first of its kind -

:14:30. > :14:32.is helping address a global shortage Jordan Davies has been out

:14:33. > :14:58.with the first group of trainees. As going to work goes, it is pretty

:14:59. > :15:03.good, being driven in this ?1.5 million boat, to take control of

:15:04. > :15:07.this cargo ship anchored off Barry. What our conditions like today?

:15:08. > :15:10.It is quite good today. Their conditions. Sometimes, they get a

:15:11. > :15:12.lot rougher than this, but it is all part of the fun and enjoyment of the

:15:13. > :15:18.job. These waters are the perfect place

:15:19. > :15:22.to practice piloting huge vessels like this. The huge tidal range

:15:23. > :15:25.makes even staying still difficult. As a training ground, it is close to

:15:26. > :15:28.unique. Initially, looking at a ship that

:15:29. > :15:32.sort of size, you are going to be daunted by it, but it will soon come

:15:33. > :15:37.naturally to you. You start off on relatively small ones, and work up

:15:38. > :15:39.to the very biggest. But initially, the daunting nature of it is

:15:40. > :15:43.exciting. And what are your hopes for the

:15:44. > :15:46.future with this? Obviously, the South Wales district

:15:47. > :15:50.is an amazing area to work, very varied, coming up and down the

:15:51. > :15:53.Bristol Channel everyday, and I just hope to build a great future here in

:15:54. > :15:56.South Wales. As the captain watches on, Kim and

:15:57. > :16:00.John make their way onto the ship. Much of the job is about

:16:01. > :16:03.communication. This is an international crew. And this

:16:04. > :16:10.apprenticeship is about addressing a growing global problem. Managers at

:16:11. > :16:15.associated British ports predict a worldwide shortfall of 150,000

:16:16. > :16:20.qualified Maritime officers by 2025. How much of an issue is that in the

:16:21. > :16:24.maritime industry, that shortfall? Already, it is a big issue, and it

:16:25. > :16:29.is one that is going to grow. The actual hall people is getting

:16:30. > :16:33.smaller, and for example you like a BP, we are very long-term, it is all

:16:34. > :16:37.about growth, and we foresee a big issue in the future if we do not do

:16:38. > :16:40.something at this stage. -- ABP.

:16:41. > :16:45.This apprenticeship is a way for ensure they have enough qualified

:16:46. > :16:50.marine pilots. There are 18 across Wales. But it also recognises just

:16:51. > :16:51.how busy the waters are off South Wales, and how valuable they are as

:16:52. > :16:59.a training ground. Rugby now, and Rhys Patchell has

:17:00. > :17:04.been named full-back for Wales and the team to face the all Blacks in

:17:05. > :17:08.Wellington on Saturday. The Scarlets fly half is one of two changes to

:17:09. > :17:11.the side that lost the first test, with Luke Charteris coming into the

:17:12. > :17:13.second rope Bradley Davies. Patch was a late injury call of and only

:17:14. > :17:20.arrived in the on Monday morning. Wales' judo Commonwealth gold

:17:21. > :17:23.medallist Natalie Powell has been officially selected for Team GB for

:17:24. > :17:28.the Rio Olympic. In May, she won bronze at the Mexico world Masters,

:17:29. > :17:32.meaning London 2012 silver medallist Gemma Gibbons mist out.

:17:33. > :17:40.Let's go back to Thomas added now, who is in Lens, with the latest in

:17:41. > :17:44.Euro 2016. Back to you, Thomas. Jelena could thank you, Lucy.

:17:45. > :17:48.For many Welsh bands, they were not able to make it to Lord's today, so

:17:49. > :17:55.debase themselves just around the road in Lille, just around half an

:17:56. > :17:58.hour's drive away. There has been a large police presence on the streets

:17:59. > :18:01.for many days now, and there were some trouble on the streets last

:18:02. > :18:07.night as lines of riot police chased chanting football fans. 36 arrests

:18:08. > :18:11.were made last night, with 16 people taken to hospital. There are also

:18:12. > :18:14.officers from Wells police forces on the ground, helping to prevent

:18:15. > :18:15.further violence. This report now from Kate Morgan.

:18:16. > :18:22.The big day after the long night before. A friendly rivalry, and the

:18:23. > :18:26.police no more than onlookers. Even the heartbreak of a 2-1 loss in the

:18:27. > :18:31.dying minutes has not torn apart the friendships forged in Lille.

:18:32. > :18:35.What is a game? We're going to have a couple of

:18:36. > :18:39.drinks, and have a laugh with the England fans, who have been

:18:40. > :18:41.absolutely brilliant. We have had a great atmosphere, and can't fault

:18:42. > :18:46.it. We're going to carry on as we

:18:47. > :18:50.started, and enjoy it. A brilliant atmosphere. And then

:18:51. > :18:54.fans are brilliant. No problems. They have been OK, so far.

:18:55. > :18:58.Everyone is consoling me, because it is just me, by the looks of things.

:18:59. > :19:00.No one else here is Welsh. It has been a good day, and a good

:19:01. > :19:06.atmosphere. Last night, a different atmosphere

:19:07. > :19:09.in the city. Crowds one of the main elements clashing with police,

:19:10. > :19:14.followed by clouds of tear gas. In 36 England fans were arrested. Today

:19:15. > :19:19.in lens, riot police lined up on the streets, ready for more action, and

:19:20. > :19:23.back in Lille, there was only one thing on the Welsh fans minds, the

:19:24. > :19:28.possibility of a win and the disappointment of a last-gasp loss.

:19:29. > :19:32.Really disappointed. Heartbreaking, it was.

:19:33. > :19:35.Heartbreaking. But England haven't qualified yet!

:19:36. > :19:38.It is about an hour after the match, and yesterday, this area was filled

:19:39. > :19:41.with football fans. There will be more on their way to the stadium to

:19:42. > :19:43.the station tonight, but at the moment, not a lot for the police to

:19:44. > :19:46.do. And they will be hoping things stay

:19:47. > :19:49.that way tonight. But with hours left until the bars here close, they

:19:50. > :19:55.will be keeping a close eye on things for a while yet.

:19:56. > :20:01.In pubs clubs offices and schools, it seems many of you took time out

:20:02. > :20:04.to follow Wales at Euro 2016. Employers have been encouraged to be

:20:05. > :20:10.sympathetic to those who wanted annual leave, and bosses in many

:20:11. > :20:11.workplaces put TVs in the workplace, so people could watch the game. This

:20:12. > :20:24.report now from Nick palette. From early this morning, fans

:20:25. > :20:27.descended on the Welsh capital, with a liquid breakfast to lubricate the

:20:28. > :20:32.vocal muscles in anticipation of a joyous afternoon.

:20:33. > :20:37.Come on, Wales! Flag and hat sellers were doing a roaring trade.

:20:38. > :20:41.Through and through, born and bred in Cardiff. Come on, boys.

:20:42. > :20:45.Just being in Europe is unimaginable, isn't it two I have

:20:46. > :20:52.been waiting since 1958. And to be playing your neighbours!

:20:53. > :20:53.Wales! Even here, in the wilds of Slavonia, there was football fever.

:20:54. > :20:56.CHEERING .

:20:57. > :21:00.Lake Bala was temporarily renamed in honour of our most famous player.

:21:01. > :21:03.Ella Machar the Met has extended her invitation for him and the Welsh

:21:04. > :21:10.squad to visit, and maybe we will seek bail one day in Bala, or maybe

:21:11. > :21:15.they'll one day in Bale! Line before kick-off, fans were

:21:16. > :21:18.securing their places in fans and where.

:21:19. > :21:22.They were bathed in sunshine in Swansea, but in Cardiff, as kick-off

:21:23. > :21:26.approached, the heavens opened. Once two o'clock came, in pubs and

:21:27. > :21:30.clubs, schools, hospitals, officers, and even converted warehouses like

:21:31. > :21:34.this, the whole nation was glued to the big screen.

:21:35. > :21:39.The downpour could not dampen the spirits of the thousands who

:21:40. > :21:42.gathered in Wales' largest fan zone in Cardiff, who were rewarded with a

:21:43. > :21:52.first half lead off the booze of Gareth Bale. -- boot.

:21:53. > :21:58.Joy, as well, at the Mason's Arms intended.

:21:59. > :22:00.And that this coach company near Aberystwyth, where drivers were

:22:01. > :22:04.allowed to watch the match in the office. At half-time, however, with

:22:05. > :22:06.Wales leaving, they had to leave to do the school pick-ups, much to

:22:07. > :22:11.their frustration. I am going to just, like every other

:22:12. > :22:17.Welshman, I think, offer everything to God, and it will always be very

:22:18. > :22:19.wonderful. Just keep it at 1-0, please!

:22:20. > :22:23.But his prayers were not answered, as he did the school run, and pupils

:22:24. > :22:26.watching the game in schools right across the country shared the nation

:22:27. > :22:28.buzzed like a disappointment, including these youngsters.

:22:29. > :22:33.It was really disappointing. They were so close.

:22:34. > :22:37.Wales have to win against Russia, or they are out, and that it is

:22:38. > :22:40.appointing. Very. Many fans will now be drowning their

:22:41. > :22:41.sorrows, but no doubt, they will be glued to their screens again on

:22:42. > :22:49.Monday, when Wales take on Russia. Before I go, I think it is worth

:22:50. > :22:55.reiterating that all is not lost. A win against Russia, and Wales are

:22:56. > :23:00.through to the last 16. A draw me the enough. Within the last few

:23:01. > :23:03.minutes, Wales' goal-scorer today, Gareth Bale, has urged his players

:23:04. > :23:08.to fight on up until that final minute of that file game in group B,

:23:09. > :23:11.and Chris Coleman will have a job on his hands as you pick up his players

:23:12. > :23:15.and prepare for the game against Russia. He has four days to do so.

:23:16. > :23:26.Kick-off at eight o'clock on Monday night in Toulouse. And, of course,

:23:27. > :23:28.from the Wales Today team in Lens, we will give you updated of every

:23:29. > :23:31.development. And now, the weather.

:23:32. > :23:36.Hello. The weather is similar to hear at the moment, sunshine, heavy

:23:37. > :23:40.showers and thunderstorms. This picture from one of our Weather

:23:41. > :23:44.Watchers shows dark, threatening clouds in Mountain Ash. On the radar

:23:45. > :23:48.shows heavy showers and then the storms, most of them in mid, South

:23:49. > :23:52.and North East Wales. Torrential rain in places again, but not

:23:53. > :23:56.everywhere. Parts of the north and west dry, some blue sky and sunshine

:23:57. > :24:01.in Paul Helly today. This evening, scattered heavy showers and under

:24:02. > :24:05.storms will gradually fade away. Still a view showers around

:24:06. > :24:09.overnight. Otherwise dry, one or two mist patches, lower temperatures,

:24:10. > :24:15.11-14dC. So, here is the picture for eight o'clock in the morning. Some

:24:16. > :24:19.places dry at this stage, but as you can see, showers are dotted around

:24:20. > :24:22.in parts of Palace and Ceredigion. If you showers as well in the north.

:24:23. > :24:28.One or two heavy showers in Caernarfon. The wind, light, but we

:24:29. > :24:31.will see a northerly breeze on the West Coast and in Pembrokeshire.

:24:32. > :24:34.During the day tomorrow morning, more showers will break out.

:24:35. > :24:38.Torrential downpours in places again, especially in the south, the

:24:39. > :24:43.risk of hail and thunder, but like today, some places will stay dry,

:24:44. > :24:49.with some sunshine. Temperatures reaching 17 - 19, with a north to

:24:50. > :24:51.north-westerly breeze. There is a Met Office warning a heavy showers

:24:52. > :24:56.and thunderstorms for Southern counties tomorrow, at some places

:24:57. > :25:01.will miss the downpours. The north coast may have a view showers in the

:25:02. > :25:05.morning, but the afternoon should be drier and brighter. 15 Celsius in

:25:06. > :25:09.Colwyn Bay, with a breeze off the sea. And then tomorrow evening,

:25:10. > :25:14.heavy showers in the south-east will clear. Much of the country then dry

:25:15. > :25:17.overnight, except for the odd light shower, and a slightly cooler,

:25:18. > :25:22.fresher night. Temperatures in Brynmawr dropping as low as nine

:25:23. > :25:26.Celsius. On Saturday, a better day in prospect. Mostly dry, with one or

:25:27. > :25:29.two showers here and there, mainly in the south-east. Cloud should

:25:30. > :25:32.break with some sunshine. Temperatures not that high, but

:25:33. > :25:36.would like winds, it will feel pleasant.

:25:37. > :25:38.A ridge of high pressure, then, we'll settle things down over the

:25:39. > :25:44.weekend, but you will notice these fronts over the Atlantic, heading

:25:45. > :25:48.our way. So, for Sunday, the dry and bright start, but clouding over

:25:49. > :25:51.during the day. One or two showers, and then looks like rain will spread

:25:52. > :25:59.from the West during the afternoon del evening. The wind is picking up

:26:00. > :26:01.as well. Some better weather over the weekend, in summary, but make

:26:02. > :26:07.the most of it. Next week changeable, some rain, sunshine,

:26:08. > :26:11.showers, and breezy at times. In summary, typical Welsh summer

:26:12. > :26:14.weather. How pictures arises from Mandy Llewelyn, taken in Tenby in

:26:15. > :26:17.Hambridge. Derek, thank you. A reminder of the

:26:18. > :26:22.top story tonight. Welsh MPs have been paying to view

:26:23. > :26:29.to Labour MP Jo Cox, who died after a shooting attack outside her

:26:30. > :26:33.constituency surgery in Leeds. Has said she was a live wire, and Shadow

:26:34. > :26:37.Welsh Secretary Nia Griffiths has said that this must not stop

:26:38. > :26:42.politicians from doing their jobs. She was a fantastic MP, very keen,

:26:43. > :26:46.very lively. She had extreme knowledge about all sorts of areas

:26:47. > :26:50.like Syria and Yemen. She was also very good at representing her own

:26:51. > :26:54.area, and she was very friendly, and every body got on well with her. She

:26:55. > :26:59.was seen as very much part of the crowd, and the person you wanted to

:27:00. > :27:01.get on with. She was a really lovely person.

:27:02. > :27:05.And other European football Championships, Wales suffered a late

:27:06. > :27:10.to- one defeat against England. Gareth Bale's free kick had given

:27:11. > :27:15.Wales a first-half lead, but after an equaliser, Daniel Sturridge

:27:16. > :27:18.scored the in injury time. -- 2-1. Wales play Russia in their final

:27:19. > :27:24.group match on Wednesday, still with a chance of making the next stage.

:27:25. > :27:28.We have got to put this to bed, we have got to play against a tough

:27:29. > :27:31.Russian team, knowing if we get a good result, we are still in the

:27:32. > :27:34.tournament. So there is still all to play for.

:27:35. > :27:38.And that is Wales today. We will have a quick update for you at eight

:27:39. > :27:41.o'clock, and more after the BBC Ten O'Clock News. But for now, from all

:27:42. > :27:42.of us on the programme, thank you for your company, and have a good

:27:43. > :27:47.evening. Goodbye.
