:00:00. > :00:00.Welcome to Wales Today, live from Tolouse on the night

:00:07. > :00:27.Grateful, Ramsay in here. Celebrations as Wales through to the

:00:28. > :00:29.last 16, emphatically beating Russia 3-0.

:00:30. > :00:33.Labour's big guns take to the streets of Pontypridd,

:00:34. > :00:46.as campaigning resumes for the EU referendum campaign.

:00:47. > :00:52.Wales waited 58 years to be here, and tonight

:00:53. > :00:54.they have brushed aside one of European Football's superpowers.

:00:55. > :00:57.Wales have done it in style, beating Russia 3-0 and topping their group.

:00:58. > :01:03.They're through to the last 16 in Paris on Saturday.

:01:04. > :01:05.We'll discover who'll they'll face over the next two days.

:01:06. > :01:08.It's a night fans will never forget - tonight

:01:09. > :01:23.They'd waited 58 years to see their team appear in a major championship.

:01:24. > :01:28.That team has not only reached the last extreme, but have done so in

:01:29. > :01:35.dial. Wales confidently beating Russia in the final group game in to

:01:36. > :01:40.loose. Fantastic. Better than we could have imagined. An incredible

:01:41. > :01:47.game. I never thought we would win 3-0, unbelievable. To win the group

:01:48. > :01:52.as well. Absolutely fantastic. The best game we've ever seen.

:01:53. > :01:58.Absolutely fantastic, what a result. I could never have imagined that. It

:01:59. > :02:02.was a perfect start. Wales playing at a high tempo with Joe Allen

:02:03. > :02:10.pulling the strings. His defence splitting pass gave Alan Ramsey --

:02:11. > :02:14.Aaron Ramsey the chance to score his 11th International goal. Fans of the

:02:15. > :02:20.Cardiff fan zone got the party started. Gareth Bale's deflected

:02:21. > :02:25.shot dropped to Neil Taylor's power. They needed two goals, but double

:02:26. > :02:32.the country's lead. Back home, supporters in a frenzy. The rest of

:02:33. > :02:35.the first half was just as frantic. Wales attacking at every opportunity

:02:36. > :02:42.with Gareth Bale coming close on more than one occasion. The early

:02:43. > :02:48.goal was brilliant. What a half, phenomenal. Ack in France, Russia

:02:49. > :02:53.were outclassed. With Wales rampaging towards goal and Ramsay in

:02:54. > :03:04.the thick of it, it was only a matter of time until Gareth Bale's

:03:05. > :03:11.name was added to the scoresheet. An incredible, emotional and

:03:12. > :03:15.comfortable win. Wales 3-0 Russia. Supporters in red have contributed

:03:16. > :03:20.so much to this campaign so far. The atmosphere here this evening is

:03:21. > :03:26.incredible. With England drawing withstood wackier, Chris Coleman's

:03:27. > :03:29.men top the group and now face a Saturday last 16 games in Paris. --

:03:30. > :03:43.England drawing with Slovakia. The manager himself has said that

:03:44. > :03:46.was the best performance from any Wales team.

:03:47. > :03:53.Put this into context for us, how significant is this result?

:03:54. > :03:59.Wales' football fans have endured years of failures and near misses.

:04:00. > :04:02.We all know they've waited 58 years to play at a major tournament -

:04:03. > :04:11.It disproves the myth that Wales are a one man team,

:04:12. > :04:14.the patronising view that it's Gareth Bale and ten others who are

:04:15. > :04:17.Because, now, Wales have four different goal-scorers

:04:18. > :04:23.A word about Neil Taylor, scorer of the second goal,

:04:24. > :04:27.his previous and only goal was for Wrexham

:04:28. > :04:31.against Grays Athletic in the Conference six years ago.

:04:32. > :04:35.It only goes to show how far Welsh football has come in just

:04:36. > :04:52.Rival camps in the EU referendum debate claim they each have

:04:53. > :04:55.momentum on their side, as campaigning in Wales

:04:56. > :05:02.resumed after the death of the Labour MP, Jo Cox.

:05:03. > :05:06.Welsh Labour's biggest players were out in Pontypridd trying

:05:07. > :05:12.Vote Leave campaigners claim there's a shift in mood in its direction

:05:13. > :05:18.Here's our Political Editor, Nick Servini.

:05:19. > :05:21.The big beasts of Welsh Labour hit the streets of Pontypridd

:05:22. > :05:24.to try to persuade voters in the South Wales Valleys

:05:25. > :05:28.Wearing white roses in memory of the Labour MP, Jo Cox,

:05:29. > :05:35.And there wasn't much peace for these coffee drinkers

:05:36. > :05:38.as they were lent on by the First Minister, Carwyn Jones,

:05:39. > :05:41.his predecessor and a pair of former Welsh Secretaries.

:05:42. > :05:47.Would you be voting to stay in Europe?

:05:48. > :05:52.The big focus for Labour is now in the Valleys, because not enough

:05:53. > :05:58.Too many are ignoring the wishes of the party's leadership

:05:59. > :06:03.and considering a Leave vote because of concerns about immigration.

:06:04. > :06:05.The campaign's been difficult, there's no question about that.

:06:06. > :06:08.Particularly in the South Wales Valleys, where there has been quite

:06:09. > :06:16.My impression today, walking around this town

:06:17. > :06:18.of Pontypridd, is that there is a definite change

:06:19. > :06:21.of mood and there is now, I think, a trend towards Remain.

:06:22. > :06:23.Pontypridd is, of course, a safe Labour seat.

:06:24. > :06:26.But it is a striking feature of the referendum campaign that

:06:27. > :06:29.areas that are not used to tight political contests

:06:30. > :06:33.like the South Wales Valleys find themselves right

:06:34. > :06:39.Leave campaigners have renewed their claims that the Brexit

:06:40. > :06:42.would not leave to a reduction in financial support

:06:43. > :06:50.In fact, they say Wales could have extra money in the event of a Leave.

:06:51. > :06:54.We've had ministers who are part of the Leave campaign who've made

:06:55. > :07:02.categorical confirmation that when you do leave the EU,

:07:03. > :07:05.Welsh farmers will continue to get the money that they receive.

:07:06. > :07:08.And all the money that the EU has promised to Wales until 2020,

:07:09. > :07:14.On Wales Today earlier, the First Minister argued the case

:07:15. > :07:17.for Remain on economic grounds, while the leader

:07:18. > :07:20.of the Welsh Conservatives said leaving was the only way to control,

:07:21. > :07:28.We've just had unemployment figures where we are lower than England,

:07:29. > :07:33.Every single investor that's come to Wales has seen Wales as a base

:07:34. > :07:36.Unless we can guarantee access to the European market,

:07:37. > :07:40.They'll go to Ireland, they'll go to France, to Germany.

:07:41. > :07:44.And the ones that are here, all you have to look at is what Ford

:07:45. > :07:46.said today, what Nissan said today, they're worried about what's

:07:47. > :07:51.In some commnities, there's a very real problem that some people

:07:52. > :07:53.have experienced day in, day out.

:07:54. > :07:54.In other communities, it's a perceived problem.

:07:55. > :07:57.But there is an issue over the national government's ability

:07:58. > :08:01.There is an issue over the national government's ability to control red

:08:02. > :08:05.And if we want to bring back that control to Westminster, then we need

:08:06. > :08:08.to vote Leave on Thursday and ultimately take back control.

:08:09. > :08:10.They'll be many more conversations like these on both

:08:11. > :08:23.sides as the final flurry of campaigning gets underway.

:08:24. > :08:31.You can get more information on the referendum campaign in Wales on the

:08:32. > :08:34.BBC News website. Follow the links to the EU referendum page.

:08:35. > :08:38.Welsh MPs and peers were among those who returned to Westminster to pay

:08:39. > :08:41.tribute to Labour MP Jo Cox, who died after being shot

:08:42. > :08:43.and stabbed in her West Yorkshire constituency on Thursday.

:08:44. > :08:47.Parliament, which was in recess for the EU referendum,

:08:48. > :08:53.was recalled to remember the 41-year-old who was described

:08:54. > :09:00.She once told me in a one to one meeting at Oxfam as my manager

:09:01. > :09:03.that she didn't do touchy-feely, and I was being too emotional

:09:04. > :09:10.Jo Cox would have said, "Don't moan, work.

:09:11. > :09:14.Organise and campaign for a better world."

:09:15. > :09:24.Two brothers, who were both teachers in Gwynedd,

:09:25. > :09:27.have pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children.

:09:28. > :09:30.Dr Robyn Wheldon-Williams pleaded guilty to eight charges involving

:09:31. > :09:34.over 1,300 indecent images and videos.

:09:35. > :09:37.His brother Dyfan pleaded guilty to three charges involving 40

:09:38. > :09:46.Footballer Ched Evans, who faces a retrial over rape allegations,

:09:47. > :09:50.has joined the League One side Chesterfield on a year's contract.

:09:51. > :09:53.The former Wales striker was jailed four years ago for raping a woman

:09:54. > :10:00.His conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeal in April.

:10:01. > :10:08.Nightly closures of the Brynglas tunnels on the M4 motorway

:10:09. > :10:13.Maintenance work will take place up to five days a week,

:10:14. > :10:18.Traffic will be affected between 8pm and 6am,

:10:19. > :10:25.Welsh Water has launched a campaign to highlight the dangers

:10:26. > :10:31.Last summer, there were 149 incidents where people attempted

:10:32. > :10:36.The water company has warned that under-currents and hidden machinery

:10:37. > :10:39.can drag the strongest swimmers under, but says the biggest danger

:10:40. > :10:48.The most at risk group are young men between 15 and 35.

:10:49. > :10:54.What happens is they believe they're invincible.

:10:55. > :10:56.They believe they're very physically strong swimmers.

:10:57. > :10:58.But all the evidence from people like the Royal Society

:10:59. > :11:01.for the Prevention of Accidents points to the fact that that group

:11:02. > :11:03.are the most vulnerable, and even they don't survive

:11:04. > :11:05.because of the temperature of this water.

:11:06. > :11:07.Let's see what the weather has in store - Sue Charles

:11:08. > :11:12.It's the summer solstice, though it didn't feel

:11:13. > :11:16.But after the heavy rain, it should turn dry overnight.

:11:17. > :11:18.That's because the front which brought today's rain

:11:19. > :11:23.Another is hovering to the north-west of the UK.

:11:24. > :11:26.But, in between, a more settled spell of weather tomorrow.

:11:27. > :11:28.Overnight, it will stay dry with clear intervals developing.

:11:29. > :11:34.Still some cloud around, holding up the temperatures in double figures.

:11:35. > :11:38.Tomorrow should start largely fine and dry, just the odd

:11:39. > :11:42.Then across the UK, where we saw those fronts,

:11:43. > :11:44.that's where we're most likely to see any showers.

:11:45. > :11:47.Northern Ireland, western Scotland and south-east England.

:11:48. > :11:50.For most of the UK, it will stay dry with the best of any brightness

:11:51. > :11:55.Cloudy later with south-westerly winds drawing in warm air.

:11:56. > :12:01.Top temperatures of 14 Celsius in the rain in the Western Isles,

:12:02. > :12:05.21 in the humid air across South East England.

:12:06. > :12:09.Later across Wales, some decent sunny spells with cloud around, too.

:12:10. > :12:16.Highs of 17 Celsius in Pembrokeshire, 19 in Wrexham.

:12:17. > :12:19.Midweek, we caught between these two weather fronts.

:12:20. > :12:23.High-pressure is trying to build, but a low pressure and fronts either

:12:24. > :12:26.side could bring some showers as we drag in humid

:12:27. > :12:34.The chance of a few showers developing, but sunny spells, too.

:12:35. > :12:36.Feeling quite humid as south-westerly winds

:12:37. > :12:44.Thursday is looking mainly dry with sunny spells,

:12:45. > :12:48.Similar on Friday with temperatures holding up

:12:49. > :12:54.The final word tonight from Tomos Dafydd on Wales

:12:55. > :13:10.Manager Chris Coleman has been facing the cameras in the last few

:13:11. > :13:14.minutes and he has said that as a nation we are geographically small

:13:15. > :13:18.but in terms of passion, we are a continent. Wales are making all the

:13:19. > :13:25.headlines because the top goal-scorer of the tournament so

:13:26. > :13:30.far, Gareth Bale with three goals. The top scoring team is Wales with

:13:31. > :13:32.six goals. We will see you in Paris on Saturday. Good evening.
