:00:53. > :00:54.making the headlines, senior Welsh MPs have been calling

:00:55. > :01:02.There's a fear of a snap general election and that voters

:01:03. > :01:05.in the party's heartlands trying to make ends meet are just aren't

:01:06. > :01:12.My real fear is that they won't see Jeremy as the leader that can really

:01:13. > :01:14.deliver that for them, and that they would not

:01:15. > :01:16.therefore vote Labour, and I think we could

:01:17. > :01:23.Would it be fair to say that Jeremy Corbyn could be the Labour

:01:24. > :01:28.Well, he certainly could do that, I think we have already seen a huge

:01:29. > :01:31.haemorrhaging of support for him in some of our heartland areas.

:01:32. > :01:34.There is a very different tone when you're on the door step

:01:35. > :01:36.in many of our values and our heartland Labour areas

:01:37. > :01:39.from perhaps some of the more middle-class areas of Cardiff.

:01:40. > :01:41.This morning, a challenge has been made to Jeremy Corbyn's leadership

:01:42. > :01:44.by a former member of his front bench team, but there are still

:01:45. > :01:47.questions about what the Pontypridd MP and the former frontbencher

:01:48. > :01:57.to say he'd asked Mr Corbyn if he'd be willing to see the party split,

:01:58. > :02:02.Mr Smith insisted he wasn't willing to see a split within the party.

:02:03. > :02:07.I've no idea why Owen should say such a thing.

:02:08. > :02:11.I had quite interesting, almost philosophical political

:02:12. > :02:14.discussions with Owen a week ago, and I'm slightly...

:02:15. > :02:19.I'm slightly surprised he would go out and say that.

:02:20. > :02:22.In the event of a leadership contest, some say Mr Corbyn needs

:02:23. > :02:24.the support of MPs to enter the contest, though allies

:02:25. > :02:27.insisted he should get on the ballot automatically.

:02:28. > :02:29.As the existing leader of the Labour Party, he should

:02:30. > :02:35.Now, if it takes a court to make that decision,

:02:36. > :02:37.that's where, unfortunately, you'll have to go.
