:00:34. > :00:40.EU grant aid has helped pay for all kinds of things in Wales,

:00:41. > :00:42.from colleges, to roads, to this university

:00:43. > :00:48.It has contributed the best part of ?4 billion over

:00:49. > :00:54.The Brexit vote last month means the future of much of that money

:00:55. > :00:56.is uncertain, though promises were made that Wales

:00:57. > :01:00.But now the Welsh government is concerned after EU officials

:01:01. > :01:05.who oversee how the money is spent refused to meet them last week.

:01:06. > :01:07.In a letter to the European Commission, the Finance Secretary,

:01:08. > :01:11.Mark Drakeford, said, any sense that in the short-term

:01:12. > :01:13.we are being frozen out by the European Commission would be

:01:14. > :01:20.It would also send entirely the wrong signal to our partners

:01:21. > :01:23.and stakeholders who have worked tirelessly to make a success of EU

:01:24. > :01:30.In an interview with BBC Wales' Sunday Politics programme,

:01:31. > :01:34.the First Minister said the problem is what is known as Article 50,

:01:35. > :01:38.which begins the process of the UK leaving the European Union.

:01:39. > :01:41.There is no doubt that the commission has decided it is not

:01:42. > :01:43.going to play a part in these meetings from now on.

:01:44. > :01:46.We are in a period at the moment of two sides who are

:01:47. > :01:54.The UK has said it will not trigger Article 50 until there

:01:55. > :01:56.are informal negotiations, and the EU has said there will not

:01:57. > :01:58.be informal negotiations until Article 50 is triggered.

:01:59. > :02:02.At the moment we are at an impasse and over the next few weeks that

:02:03. > :02:05.A spokesman for the commission said they did not want

:02:06. > :02:11.As the UK unpicks its relationship with the European Union,

:02:12. > :02:15.the discussions between officials will be crucial.

:02:16. > :02:18.The Welsh government has a team in Brussels who are trying to secure

:02:19. > :02:21.the best deal for Wales, and that could be vital for

:02:22. > :02:30.Welsh holidaymakers who are due to fly out to Turkey in the coming

:02:31. > :02:32.days have been told to monitor advice from the Foreign

:02:33. > :02:38.And Commonwealth Office following the failed coup yesterday.

:02:39. > :02:40.Cardiff Airport has one flight to Dalaman on Monday and has used

:02:41. > :02:43.social media to remind passengers to check with their airline,

:02:44. > :02:49.British Airways cancelled all its flights to Istanbul today,

:02:50. > :02:51.while other operators are offering customers the chance

:02:52. > :02:59.Campaigners are holding events across Wales ahead of a vote

:03:00. > :03:00.in Parliament on Monday on the replacement of

:03:01. > :03:07.Opponents to Trident manned a street stall in Bangor today, with further

:03:08. > :03:12.events planned on Monday in Aberystwyth and Cardiff.
