:00:00. > :00:08.Working life goes on unchanged, at least for now, but Welsh

:00:09. > :00:11.businesses call for a plan to deal with the uncertainty

:00:12. > :00:27.Almost half the business is export-oriented, so that is a worry

:00:28. > :00:28.and some major companies, customers have expressed concerns about what

:00:29. > :00:33.will happen in next few years. Injecting people with Botox

:00:34. > :00:44.in her kitchen, Vivienne Baker, from Porthcawl, had claimed to be

:00:45. > :00:48.a qualified midwife. And scientists at the Sea Watch

:00:49. > :00:56.Foundation want your help to count how many whales, dolphins

:00:57. > :00:58.and porpoises are living Businesses like certainty -

:00:59. > :01:12.how much things are going to cost The vote to leave the EU has ripped

:01:13. > :01:16.certainty to shreds. For some, that means

:01:17. > :01:19.new opportunities to explore, for others -

:01:20. > :01:21.a pause on investment Today, Welsh business leaders met

:01:22. > :01:24.with the First Minister to call for a plan on how

:01:25. > :01:28.the country responds. But how much can be done in Wales

:01:29. > :01:31.when Westminster still holds Here's our business

:01:32. > :01:46.Correspondent, Brian Meechan. The weight of business opinion in

:01:47. > :01:48.Wales was in favour of staying in a year. It is buzzed the plans of many

:01:49. > :01:54.forms while they work out the impact. Business activity following

:01:55. > :01:59.the EU vote was at its lowest since April 2000 nine. This is a family

:02:00. > :02:06.business that has been making frozen yoghurt is and other deserts for

:02:07. > :02:09.almost 30 years. It depends heavily on selling goods to the EU. Bosses

:02:10. > :02:11.say that they will have to consider their options. Almost half the

:02:12. > :02:15.businesses export oriented. That is a worry. A couple of our major

:02:16. > :02:19.customers have expressed concerns about what will happen in the next

:02:20. > :02:23.few years. Unfortunately, we can't give them much, because we don't

:02:24. > :02:29.know what will happen either. -- much comfort. In a worst case, we

:02:30. > :02:39.would have to move the business back into Europe. We are considering what

:02:40. > :02:41.we will do. There are already signs of a slowdown in the economy as

:02:42. > :02:47.companies put on hold decisions over recruitment and investment and how

:02:48. > :02:49.they see what kind of shape Brexit takes in practice. That there is

:02:50. > :02:52.pressure on the Welsh and UK governments to make sure that Wales

:02:53. > :02:56.stays open for business in the meantime. Those working in

:02:57. > :02:59.recruitment say that they could do with more clarity from the UK

:03:00. > :03:04.Government on what will happen with the movement after Brexit. What

:03:05. > :03:07.we're finding now, after the dust has settled, it is pretty much back

:03:08. > :03:13.to normal. Most businesses are still recruiting. The biggest concern is

:03:14. > :03:22.investment into Wales. We have a number of organisations in Wales for

:03:23. > :03:25.a gateway into Europe. Also, a tracking European funding to

:03:26. > :03:29.themselves. Wales benefits substantially from that. We are

:03:30. > :03:34.concerned there is a knock-on effect to jobs and job security in Wales.

:03:35. > :03:44.Business leaders also won the Welsh Government is greater tax -- also

:03:45. > :03:49.won the Welsh comedy greater tax -- task force to create more

:03:50. > :03:52.opportunities. There are many specialisms we can bring to the

:03:53. > :03:58.table. A business task force would be a fundamental forward step for

:03:59. > :04:03.Wales. There was a meeting of business leaders and unions LF. This

:04:04. > :04:06.Council for economic renewal was set up during the financial crisis and

:04:07. > :04:09.meets three times a year. The Welsh Government set out a series of

:04:10. > :04:13.measures aimed at stimulating the economy. We have a growth and

:04:14. > :04:17.prosperity fund being announced. ?5 million to help small and

:04:18. > :04:21.medium-sized businesses. On top of that, we have to make sure that

:04:22. > :04:25.investors who are wondering what is going on now that Wales is still a

:04:26. > :04:29.place to invest and our people have the skills that they need for them

:04:30. > :04:36.to be successful in the future. The initial shock of the result for some

:04:37. > :04:39.businesses might have given way to a sense that there are also potential

:04:40. > :04:41.opportunities in Brexit. It seems that many are waiting to see what

:04:42. > :04:43.happens next before they make any big decisions.

:04:44. > :04:45.An uncertain time for businesses in Wales. What might that mean for our

:04:46. > :04:49.jobs and the pounds in our pockets? Let's talk to Sarah Dickins,

:04:50. > :04:56.our economics correspondent. Let's start on jobs.

:04:57. > :05:02.We are doing very well in terms of jobs so far. Unemployment in the

:05:03. > :05:07.UK's 4.9%, and 4.6% in Wales. We don't know whether that is just

:05:08. > :05:09.because we took longer to go into recession and we are taking longer

:05:10. > :05:15.to go through the growth BA, but everyone will be watching that very

:05:16. > :05:17.closely. Exporters are having a very good time because products are

:05:18. > :05:21.cheaper and they tend to do quite well. Whether they will take on more

:05:22. > :05:27.people in this period of whether they feel uncertain for how long the

:05:28. > :05:32.Pendlebury week, we don't yet know. -- the pound will be weak, we do not

:05:33. > :05:35.yet know. Meanwhile, others are concerned about whether they will

:05:36. > :05:40.have to lose jobs in the long-term because of post-Brexit agreements.

:05:41. > :05:46.The other great uncertainty is investment. Talking to people in the

:05:47. > :05:50.private sector, quite a few of them are considering investments. There

:05:51. > :05:53.is a poison decision-making. The problem with economics is that if

:05:54. > :06:08.decision-making is poised, that can weaken the economy. -- paused.

:06:09. > :06:11.Interestingly, it was only a few days ago that ?27 million of

:06:12. > :06:21.European funding was put into the unit being economy to help young

:06:22. > :06:25.people get into the workplace. I expect we will see a few more

:06:26. > :06:27.million in the next few days to encourage managerial skills in the

:06:28. > :06:35.private sector in Wales. That is European money. They are basically

:06:36. > :06:39.carrying on and saying, until we carry -- find we don't have this

:06:40. > :06:45.money, we will carry on. If the uncertainty is too long, there is

:06:46. > :06:50.the risk of slowing down the hall economy -- the whole economy.

:06:51. > :06:51.Labour might have monopolised political infighting

:06:52. > :06:54.over the past few weeks, but in Cardiff Bay, Ukip are giving

:06:55. > :06:57.Its leader in the Assembly, Neil Hamilton, has demanded

:06:58. > :07:00.that the party's leader in Wales, Nathan Gill, sack an assistant

:07:01. > :07:04.Our political editor Nick Servini is at the Senedd.

:07:05. > :07:25.We have got used to Ukip Rouse. This is a textbook examples. AMs you live

:07:26. > :07:33.in England could have some costs reimbursed in cadre. That only

:07:34. > :07:37.applies to Neil Hamilton, who lives in Hampshire. One man is very happy

:07:38. > :07:41.with this is Liam Powell. The problem is, he is a member of Ukip

:07:42. > :07:47.and works for Nathan Gill. He tweeted on this proposal... Just

:07:48. > :07:51.e-mailed my local AMs, asking them to vote to protect taxpayers money.

:07:52. > :07:59.Clearly very happy. That prompted a furious response from Neil Hamilton.

:08:00. > :08:04.-- clearly very unhappy. Neil Hamilton said he was outraged that

:08:05. > :08:08.there was a suggestion that any beer and batsman to him would be a waste

:08:09. > :08:14.of taxpayers' money. Liam Powell said if you are elected to serve the

:08:15. > :08:20.people of Wales, you should live there. Then there were strong was

:08:21. > :08:22.that set this is an example of billing behaviour. Ukip seem beset

:08:23. > :08:26.by squabbles at the moment. What's at the heart

:08:27. > :08:35.of their problems in the Senedd? They are. We should say that the

:08:36. > :08:41.context here is internal divisions amongst all the major parties. The

:08:42. > :08:47.Conservatives in the referendum campaign, Labour still at war.

:08:48. > :08:49.Certainly, from Ukip's perspective, yesterday, Nathan Gill had to defend

:08:50. > :08:53.himself against criticism he is double jobbing as an Assembly Member

:08:54. > :08:58.and member of the European Parliament. Topped openly about a

:08:59. > :09:02.proxy war between those on the National Executive Committee of the

:09:03. > :09:05.party, Neil Hamilton, and those loyal to the outgoing leader, Nigel

:09:06. > :09:10.Farage, who in this case is Nathan Gill. Those divisions have not gone

:09:11. > :09:15.away and it certainly does not look as if it will update any time soon.

:09:16. > :09:17.-- French prosecutors are investigating

:09:18. > :09:24.whether the driver of a coach full of British pupils that crashed

:09:25. > :09:27.in France at the weekend fell He says he veered off the road

:09:28. > :09:31.after looking for his sunglasses. The coach - owned by

:09:32. > :09:33.Express Motors in Penygroes - was carrying schoolchildren

:09:34. > :09:35.from Cheltenham when it overturned 13 were injured, two

:09:36. > :09:42.remain in hospital. A man has pleaded guilty

:09:43. > :09:44.to the manslaughter of a mother of two who was found dead at a house

:09:45. > :09:48.in Tonna, near Neath. The body of 51-year-old Andrea Lewis

:09:49. > :09:50.was found in January. Rhys Hobbs - who's 44

:09:51. > :09:52.and also from Tonna - was due to stand trial

:09:53. > :09:54.for her murder. Some parents will skip a meal

:09:55. > :10:02.to feed their children this summer. That's according to a report

:10:03. > :10:04.by the Trussell Trust charity. It says demand on its 35 food

:10:05. > :10:10.banks in Wales peaks during July and August,

:10:11. > :10:13.when there is no access to school The charity has launched new holiday

:10:14. > :10:18.clubs to offer children activities There's been a call for more

:10:19. > :10:26.to be done to tackle It comes as research

:10:27. > :10:32.by the National Union of Teachers shows a rise in the number of work

:10:33. > :10:35.days missed in Wales due The figures - obtained via freedom

:10:36. > :10:38.of information requests - show that last year more than 51,000

:10:39. > :10:42.days were lost with more than half of Wales' 22 councils showing

:10:43. > :10:47.an increase on the year before. Across the past four years,

:10:48. > :10:50.the cost to provide supply cover Jenny Nihan from Cardiff

:10:51. > :10:58.was a primary school teacher but left the profession last

:10:59. > :11:03.December after 15 years. She's been telling us

:11:04. > :11:16.about her experiences. At first, I really enjoyed it. It

:11:17. > :11:18.was more about the children and there was less expectation on

:11:19. > :11:21.results and targets. Unfortunately, I wouldn't even consider at this

:11:22. > :11:27.moment in time returning to teaching. Work- life balance no

:11:28. > :11:31.longer existed. I felt that I was working a ten hour day in school and

:11:32. > :11:37.then would come home, see to the children and then work another 3-4

:11:38. > :11:43.hours in the evening. Obviously, I did the best I could for the

:11:44. > :11:45.children in my care. But, just in general, the quality of my life at

:11:46. > :11:53.home and for my family was diminished because of it. It made

:11:54. > :11:58.you feel tired, ill, so that that is not therefore for the best of the

:11:59. > :12:08.children in your care. I always maintained a level head in school

:12:09. > :12:10.but there is only so much stress you can take. Obviously, if you are

:12:11. > :12:13.unhappy in your job, you're not giving the best, so those kind of

:12:14. > :12:13.stresses will have an impact on children.

:12:14. > :12:16.David Evans is from the National Union of Teachers in Wales.

:12:17. > :12:20.Just how big a problem is stress in teaching?

:12:21. > :12:26.It is a huge problem. It is one that we have not got to grips with for

:12:27. > :12:30.too many years. We started collating this information about four years

:12:31. > :12:33.ago, requesting the information from local authorities as to how many

:12:34. > :12:39.days were lost. The figures are quite staggering. Nearly 52,000 days

:12:40. > :12:44.in the last year. Given that there is 195 school days a year, that

:12:45. > :12:49.equates to about 250 years. It is a big problem. The schools have just

:12:50. > :12:53.broken up. Many people watching will say, teachers have six weeks off,

:12:54. > :12:55.along with half terms, Christmas and Easter as well.

:12:56. > :13:04.Many other people working in other businesses would love those breaks.

:13:05. > :13:08.It is not necessarily six weeks off. I had of a teacher who finished last

:13:09. > :13:13.Wednesday and landing on Sunday, ready for the new term. Teachers do

:13:14. > :13:17.that. They have to make sure that things are ready for the start of

:13:18. > :13:21.the new term. If you were an Ambulance Trust, social worker or

:13:22. > :13:24.not, are working on the steelworks, you also might feel that you are in

:13:25. > :13:29.a rather stressful occupation. You don't give the same kind of levels

:13:30. > :13:33.of absence in those professions. Every job has its own stresses.

:13:34. > :13:37.Clearly, though, there is an issue with regard to teacher strikes and a

:13:38. > :13:42.level of absences that we are seeing. It is quite significant. The

:13:43. > :13:50.pressure that has been placed upon them by Her Majesty's inspected it

:13:51. > :13:55.and the authorities and local councils to do well. The Welsh

:13:56. > :13:58.Government says that there are range of statutory provisions in place to

:13:59. > :14:00.ensure a suitable work - life balance for teachers.

:14:01. > :14:11.They are looking at ways this can be addressed. We are meeting to discuss

:14:12. > :14:16.this all fully later this week. But there are other initiatives. We have

:14:17. > :14:20.been talking about a class size initiative. But there are other ways

:14:21. > :14:23.of dealing with it as well. We need to look at that and we need to make

:14:24. > :14:26.sure we support teachers in our schools. Thank you very much.

:14:27. > :14:30.Scientists at the Sea Watch Foundation want your help to count

:14:31. > :14:37.how many dolphins and whales are living around the Welsh coast

:14:38. > :14:39.And if you're heading to the coast this week,

:14:40. > :14:40.make sure you pack some wet weather gear.

:14:41. > :14:47.But there will be a few drier, brighter spells as well.

:14:48. > :14:50.A BBC Wales investigation has discovered a bogus nurse who claims

:14:51. > :14:56.to have prescribed and administered Botox for 10,000 Welsh patients.

:14:57. > :15:02.Undercover reporting by the X-Ray programme found that Vivienne Baker

:15:03. > :15:04.treated patients in her kitchen in Porthcawl while claiming to be

:15:05. > :15:05.a registered midwife, trained to prescribe

:15:06. > :15:18.When he decided he wanted a course of Botox, this

:15:19. > :15:19.awaard-winning mobile hairdresser, from Caerphilly, stumbled

:15:20. > :15:27.There were pictures, and certificates.

:15:28. > :15:29.You wouldn't think about looking into it.

:15:30. > :15:35.She was basically a qualified nurse that trained in London and I just

:15:36. > :15:41.Richard paid for two visits, costing a total of around ?600.

:15:42. > :15:44.He had treatment on his forehead and fillers in his lips.

:15:45. > :15:47.But he says the wrinkles came back and he saw no effect

:15:48. > :15:52.She said she would redo the procedure at a cost of ?70,

:15:53. > :16:02.I sat in her kitchen with children running around.

:16:03. > :16:06.There was no anaesthetic on my mouth whatsoever, so I could

:16:07. > :16:15.The day after, that's when I had a mouthful of blisters.

:16:16. > :16:22.BBC Wales' X-Ray programme have heard from another unhappy customer

:16:23. > :16:25.who was treated at Vivienne Baker's home in Porthcawl, who said that

:16:26. > :16:28.after treatment, her face was droopy and she could not smile for months.

:16:29. > :16:37.When a programme researcher visited the house posing as a customer,

:16:38. > :16:48.she was told she had been extremely busy.

:16:49. > :16:51.She also claims to be a midwife, but her name isn't on the nursing

:16:52. > :16:59.Prescribing Botox without registering is illegal

:17:00. > :17:01.and her Harley Street accreditation certificate is false.

:17:02. > :17:06.She would need an additional special qualification to be

:17:07. > :17:11.The only people who can prescribe are doctors, dentists,

:17:12. > :17:13.nurses with special qualifications and prescribing pharmacists.

:17:14. > :17:19.Save Face is an organisation which inspects legitimate

:17:20. > :17:26.They say that Vivienne Baker's Botox sessions are also alarmingly cheap.

:17:27. > :17:29.They say that it raises serious alarm bells as to what product

:17:30. > :17:31.she is using, where she sources it from and how safe

:17:32. > :17:38.None of these procedures are without risk.

:17:39. > :17:40.Even in the most skilled and experienced hands,

:17:41. > :17:47.If someone had an allergy reaction, they could go into

:17:48. > :17:53.If the practitioner was unable and ill-equipped to deal

:17:54. > :17:58.with that, the person could lose their life.

:17:59. > :18:00.Vivienne Baker has refused to comment.

:18:01. > :18:03.But, if you are thinking of Botox, the warning from experts is not

:18:04. > :18:07.More on that story on X-Ray tonight at 7.30 here on BBC One Wales.

:18:08. > :18:10.Drivers flouting the speed limit along a busy stretch of the M4

:18:11. > :18:12.around Newport will face tougher enforcement action, according

:18:13. > :18:17.The warning comes as it launches a road safety campaign to raise

:18:18. > :18:19.awareness of speed limits, particularly where variable speed

:18:20. > :18:31.Train passengers in North Wales faced delays and nearby homes

:18:32. > :18:34.were evacuated this morning after a suspected mortar bomb

:18:35. > :18:36.was found near a railway line around Ruabon.

:18:37. > :18:38.The line between Shrewsbury and Chester was closed for around

:18:39. > :18:50.It turned out to be a training bomb, with no explosives inside.

:18:51. > :18:53.Football, and Wales midfielder Joe Allen is on the verge of joining

:18:54. > :18:55.Stoke City from Liverpool, after having a medical

:18:56. > :19:02.Swansea City were also in the hunt for Allen and some fans

:19:03. > :19:04.are upset that they appear to have missed out.

:19:05. > :19:13.He was a key player in the historic European football campaign, even

:19:14. > :19:18.making it into the Uefa team of the Tillman. As the focus returns to

:19:19. > :19:22.club football, Joe Allen is on the verge of signing for us that Premier

:19:23. > :19:26.League club. This afternoon, it is understood he has been at Stoke City

:19:27. > :19:30.for the medical, having agreed, contractual terms. The proposed move

:19:31. > :19:37.from Liverpool to stalk is what ?30 million. There had been much talk of

:19:38. > :19:44.the Liverpool man retiring to Swansea. -- ?13 million. It is a

:19:45. > :19:50.massive loss for us and a massive loss for Liverpool. Very

:19:51. > :19:54.disappointed. I thought Joe Allen would come back to Swansea, when he

:19:55. > :20:02.started his career. We needed a striker. He is probably money better

:20:03. > :20:07.spent elsewhere. Questions have been as to who might be a little's

:20:08. > :20:11.shopping list at the liberty. Some view this as a missed opportunity

:20:12. > :20:15.for the new majority owners. In terms of bringing in a player for a

:20:16. > :20:22.modest fee in the current market, from the new American owners' point

:20:23. > :20:26.of view, it is a chance to strike a PR blow when there is apprehension

:20:27. > :20:30.about the takeover and what the future might hold. Liverpool

:20:31. > :20:33.rejected an ?8 million offer made by Swansea in June. It seems as though

:20:34. > :20:37.Joe Allen will spend the foreseeable future at Israel -- under fellow

:20:38. > :20:40.Welshman, Mark use. Organisers of a beach rugby

:20:41. > :20:46.tournament in Swansea are seeking reassurances that it will go ahead

:20:47. > :20:48.next year after four teams This was the scene during one

:20:49. > :20:52.of the two mass brawls The teams involved -

:20:53. > :20:54.Ferndale, Rhigos, Porth A and Wattstown -

:20:55. > :20:57.are said to be local rivals Swansea Council said it won't be

:20:58. > :21:00.commenting on what happened. We have been doing it now for 11

:21:01. > :21:04.years and it is the first time that we have had

:21:05. > :21:09.an incident like that. Especially waking up

:21:10. > :21:14.on Sunday morning to see it We have had a body from other clubs

:21:15. > :21:22.and the matter is in hand. -- we have had apologies from all

:21:23. > :21:28.the clubs. Cardigan Bay is famed

:22:36. > :22:41.There is quite a lot of porpoise activity around the Welsh coast.

:22:42. > :22:43.And there's some particular hotspots for certain species

:22:44. > :22:49.So maybe people who are on boats in deeper waters will see them

:22:50. > :22:51.but people do see them from the land as well,

:22:52. > :22:58.Of course, the experts can't keep an eye on the waves all the time,

:22:59. > :23:01.but with an army of spotters around the country, we can build

:23:02. > :23:04.up a clearer picture of just how many porpoises,

:23:06. > :23:07.This family from Barmouth have come for a look.

:23:52. > :23:57.We would rather not have to clean it!

:23:58. > :24:00.But we try and protect what we can because it is important

:24:01. > :24:09.You do not need to be an expert to take part

:24:10. > :24:13.You just need to take a closer look at the Seaview.

:24:14. > :24:22.You have until Sunday if you want to be one of the spotters. It is at PC
