:00:08. > :00:10.Our top stories: Working life goes on unchanged -

:00:11. > :00:13.at least for now - but Welsh businesses call for a plan

:00:14. > :00:15.to deal with the uncertainty after the EU referendum.

:00:16. > :00:35.And 51,000 days off school because of teachers' stress.

:00:36. > :00:39.Welsh business leaders have met with the First Minister,

:00:40. > :00:42.Carwyn Jones, to call for a plan on how the country responds

:00:43. > :00:46.But how much can be done in Wales when Westminster still holds

:00:47. > :02:28.Here's our Business Correspondent, Brian Meechan.

:02:29. > :02:47.What kind of shape Brexit takes in practice UK governments to make sure

:02:48. > :02:53.Wales stays open for business in the meantime. We are finding the dust

:02:54. > :03:00.has settled and it is back to normal. Most businesses that were

:03:01. > :03:04.recruiting prior to Brexit are still recruiting the biggest concern we

:03:05. > :03:08.have is old investment into Wales. Ferrara number of organisations and

:03:09. > :03:11.overseas businesses in Wales for a gateway to Europe, and also to track

:03:12. > :03:13.European funding. Wales benefits substantially from that. We are

:03:14. > :03:16.concerned there is a knock-on effect long-term to jobs and job security

:03:17. > :03:18.in Wales. Businesses also won the Welsh government to create a tad

:03:19. > :03:21.that can influence negotiations to leave the EU. We have a huge amount

:03:22. > :03:23.of experience in a very fast-moving environment. Let's have the

:03:24. > :03:26.opportunity to bring that ending gauge. There are so many different

:03:27. > :03:33.specialisms we can bring to the table. The business task force would

:03:34. > :03:39.be fundamental for Wales. Carwyn Jones journo meeting of business

:03:40. > :03:42.leaders. It meets three times a year. The Welsh government set out a

:03:43. > :03:44.series of measures aimed at stimulating the economy. We have a

:03:45. > :03:46.growth and prosperity fund of ?5 million to help small and

:03:47. > :03:49.medium-size businesses, but on top of that, we have to make sure that

:03:50. > :03:52.investors know that Wales is still a good place to invest, and our people

:03:53. > :03:55.have the skills they need for them to be successful in Wales in the

:03:56. > :03:57.future. The initial shock of the result was businesses may have given

:03:58. > :04:00.way to the sense that there are also potential opportunities in Brexit.

:04:01. > :04:01.It seems many are waiting to see what happens next before they make

:04:02. > :04:02.any big decisions. Ukip's assembly group leader

:04:03. > :04:05.Neil Hamilton has demanded that Ukip Wales leader Nathan Gill sack

:04:06. > :04:08.an assistant in a row over expenses. Mr Hamilton said he was "outraged"

:04:09. > :04:11.by a tweet sent by Llyr Powell suggesting he was opposed

:04:12. > :04:15.to a proposal to pay some of the Assembly Members'

:04:16. > :04:19.Cardiff accommodation costs. Mr Gill said Mr Hamilton's remarks

:04:20. > :04:23.were "awful bullying behaviour". French prosecutors are investigating

:04:24. > :04:27.whether the driver of a coach full of British pupils that crashed

:04:28. > :04:31.in France at the weekend fell He says he veered off the road

:04:32. > :04:36.after looking for his sunglasses. The coach - owned by

:04:37. > :04:40.Express Motors in Penygroes - was carrying schoolchildren

:04:41. > :04:42.from Cheltenham when it overturned Thirteen were injured.

:04:43. > :04:50.Two remain in hospital. A man has pleaded guilty

:04:51. > :04:53.to the manslaughter of a mother of two who was found dead at a house

:04:54. > :04:56.in Tonna, near Neath. The body of 51-year-old Andrea Lewis

:04:57. > :05:00.was found in January. Rhys Hobbs, who's 44

:05:01. > :05:02.and also from Tonna, was due to stand trial

:05:03. > :05:05.for her murder. There's been a call for more

:05:06. > :05:11.to be done to tackle It comes as freedom of information

:05:12. > :05:16.request figures, obtained by the National Union of Teachers,

:05:17. > :05:21.shows more than 51,000 work days were missed last year due

:05:22. > :05:25.to stress-related illnesses. The Welsh government says provisions

:05:26. > :05:28.are in place to ensure a suitable Jenny Nihan from Cardiff

:05:29. > :05:33.was a primary school teacher, but left the profession last

:05:34. > :05:36.December after 15 years. She's been telling us

:05:37. > :05:50.about her experiences. When I first entered the profession,

:05:51. > :05:56.I really enjoyed it. It was more about the children. There was less

:05:57. > :05:58.expectation on results and targets. Unfortunately, I wouldn't even

:05:59. > :06:05.consider at this moment in time returning to teaching. Worklife

:06:06. > :06:09.balance no longer existed. I felt that I was working a ten hour day in

:06:10. > :06:14.school, and would come home, see to the children, and work another 3-4

:06:15. > :06:19.hours in the evening. Obviously, I did the best that I could for the

:06:20. > :06:24.children in my care, but just in general, quality of my life at home

:06:25. > :06:31.and for my family, was diminished, because of it. It did make you feel

:06:32. > :06:37.tired, ill, so that that is not therefore for the best of the

:06:38. > :06:41.children in your care. I always maintained a level head in school,

:06:42. > :06:45.but there's only so much stress you can take, and obviously, if you are

:06:46. > :06:49.unhappy in your job, you are not giving the best, so those kind of

:06:50. > :06:50.stresses are obviously going to have an impact upon children.

:06:51. > :06:53.Some parents will skip a meal to feed their children this summer.

:06:54. > :06:55.That's according to a report by the Trussell Trust charity.

:06:56. > :07:00.It says demand on its 35 food banks in Wales peaks during July

:07:01. > :07:02.and August, when there is no access to school

:07:03. > :07:08.The charity has launched new holiday clubs to offer children activities

:07:09. > :07:14.Drivers flouting the speed limit along a busy stretch of the M4

:07:15. > :07:18.around Newport will face tougher enforcement action, according

:07:19. > :07:22.The warning comes as it launches a road safety campaign to raise

:07:23. > :07:25.awareness of speed limits, particularly where variable speed

:07:26. > :07:30.Football, and Stoke City has confirmed the signing of Wales

:07:31. > :07:37.The 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract

:07:38. > :07:40.with the Premier League side after the clubs agreed

:07:41. > :07:50.a fee of ?13 million for the Wales international.

:07:51. > :07:57.In terms of bringing in a player for quite a modest fee in the current

:07:58. > :08:01.market, from the new American owners' point of view, it is an

:08:02. > :08:05.opportunity to strike a PR blow for them. It would get fans onside at

:08:06. > :08:06.the time there is a bit of an apprehension about the takeover and

:08:07. > :08:08.what the future might hold. Let's see what the weather has

:08:09. > :08:16.in store - here's Derek Brockway. Hello there. Last week's Braveheart

:08:17. > :08:19.spell as a distant memory. It is back to normal this week, meaning

:08:20. > :08:24.some rain and showers, becoming humid again for a while, but with a

:08:25. > :08:27.view dryer, brighter spells in extent. For tonight, some dry

:08:28. > :08:33.weather. One or two macro showers, then later in the night, cloud will

:08:34. > :08:39.increase, bringing AQ spots of rain. Seeing dry and Monmouth, and lowest

:08:40. > :08:43.temperatures, 12-15. Tomorrow's chart shows fronts over the Atlantic

:08:44. > :08:47.heading our way. Tomorrow morning, some places dry, plenty of cloud,

:08:48. > :08:50.brighter and places, and also one or two showers. Some rain spreading

:08:51. > :08:55.into the Bristol Channel later in the morning. Across the rest of the

:08:56. > :09:00.UK, bright in parts of the South and east with sunshine, a lot of dry

:09:01. > :09:02.weather, one or two showers breaking out, cloudy in the West with some

:09:03. > :09:07.patchy rain, and that will spread further eastwards during the day. A

:09:08. > :09:13.fuse showers in northern Scotland, with highs of 16 Celsius in Glasgow,

:09:14. > :09:17.23 in London. In Wales tomorrow afternoon, mostly cloudy, damp in

:09:18. > :09:21.places, with patchy rain. Some dry spells possible as well, maybe the

:09:22. > :09:27.odd glimpse of sunshine, and temperatures around the seasonal

:09:28. > :09:30.average, 17-20. Tomorrow evening and overnight, cloud will increase

:09:31. > :09:34.again, with more widespread, heavy rain spreading across the country

:09:35. > :09:39.later in the night. A wet start on Wednesday, but the rain will

:09:40. > :09:42.gradually clear, followed by dryer, brighter weather, with hopefully

:09:43. > :09:48.some sunshine on Wednesday afternoon and one or two showers. Change will

:09:49. > :09:51.end, so mixed weather this week, some showers, but it should brighten

:09:52. > :09:53.up on Friday, and turning fresh air again. I will see you soon.

:09:54. > :09:55.That's Wales Today. Thank you for watching.

:09:56. > :10:01.From all of us on the programme, goodnight.
