:00:26. > :00:28.Workers have held strikes over pay proposals which would see

:00:41. > :00:43.Spencer's in Cardiff to put wages on the menu.

:00:44. > :00:47.They're supporting workers at RF Brookes in Rogerstone near Newport

:00:48. > :00:51.who help make some of the food products on the store's shelves.

:00:52. > :00:54.But new contracts by the Two Sisters Food Group,

:00:55. > :00:58.which owns RF Brookes, means workers who have received

:00:59. > :01:01.extra payments for working weekends, bank holidays and other anti-social

:01:02. > :01:07.hours now see a cut to some of those payments.

:01:08. > :01:10.BBC Wales understands RF Brookes workers were asked to stay away

:01:11. > :01:16.from today's protest as negotiations take place with their employer.

:01:17. > :01:19.In April, the UK Government introduced the National Living Wage,

:01:20. > :01:27.meaning people over 25 receive a minimum of ?7.20 per hour.

:01:28. > :01:30.But these trade union members say this move hasn't been

:01:31. > :01:45.The national living wage has caused problems for people in work,

:01:46. > :01:49.especially whether companies tried to exploit that and cut terms and

:01:50. > :01:51.conditions so that they are worse off than they currently are.

:01:52. > :01:53.The Two Sisters Food Group didn't respond to our request

:01:54. > :01:57.But this isn't the first time there have been protests

:01:58. > :02:03.And the Two Sisters Food group has previously said it's misleading

:02:04. > :02:06.to link its pay deal with the living wage and says its pay offer

:02:07. > :02:09.represents a pay increase to the majority of workers

:02:10. > :02:16.Marks Spencer say this is a matter between workers

:02:17. > :02:21.Until renegotiations reach a settlement, it's possible protests

:02:22. > :02:29.A man has died after a collision in Flintshire involving

:02:30. > :02:34.a Vauxhall Combo van and two pedestrians.

:02:35. > :02:37.It happened at 12:45am on the B5 122 at Caerwys

:02:38. > :02:45.One of the pedestrians, a local man, died at the scene.
