:00:10. > :00:21.Following the terror attack in London,

:00:22. > :00:24.It is understood that police are searching an address in

:00:25. > :00:27.Carmarthenshire. Forces review their security

:00:28. > :00:29.arrangements as experts say it's the big events that

:00:30. > :00:31.are most at risk. The rugby or recently large events

:00:32. > :00:34.like Roald Dahl, those short-term events are very vulnerable indeed

:00:35. > :00:37.and we need to look at what security gets put in there as

:00:38. > :00:39.temporary measures. The Senedd falls silent,

:00:40. > :00:41.as tributes are paid across the country to those

:00:42. > :00:43.who lost their lives. latest developments

:00:44. > :01:03.from Wales and Westminster. A bigger slice of the global

:01:04. > :01:07.market for our food and drink producers - ?21 million to

:01:08. > :01:14.help businesses grow. A refugee who fled his home

:01:15. > :01:18.and resettled in Colwyn Bay tells Wales Today about the challenges to

:01:19. > :01:21.become part of the local community. And the fans have arrived in Dublin

:01:22. > :01:40.singing a familiar tune - Can Wales's footballers make it to

:01:41. > :01:46.the World Cup. I have arrived in Dublin to face the group leaders. It

:01:47. > :01:51.is the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow night.

:01:52. > :01:53.Police investigating yesterday's terror attack in Westminster

:01:54. > :01:55.are tonight searching a property in Carmarthenshire.

:01:56. > :01:57.It's one of several searches linked to the investigation

:01:58. > :02:04.into the attack by Khalid Masood which killed three people.

:02:05. > :02:06.Welsh police forces have told us they are reviewing

:02:07. > :02:08.security measures, but there is no specific

:02:09. > :02:28.At the Senedd today, and increased armed police presence. A minute's

:02:29. > :02:33.silence. Flags at half-mast. Police across the UK are mourning one of

:02:34. > :02:41.their own while trying to work out how to respond to a threat so simple

:02:42. > :02:46.as a man in a car with a knife. What we have here is a protective

:02:47. > :02:50.security measure to protect the pedestrians. In Cardiff city centre

:02:51. > :02:57.one physical measure against a threat many see as almost impossible

:02:58. > :03:02.to legislate against. It is very hard to identify that kind of attack

:03:03. > :03:06.until it happens. The location is vulnerable, it is a good example

:03:07. > :03:12.here, but the barriers are in place. When we have other events like the

:03:13. > :03:16.rugby or recent events like Roald Dahl, short-term events like those

:03:17. > :03:22.are very vulnerable and we need to look at what security gets put in.

:03:23. > :03:26.Welsh police forces say there is no specific threat here but they are

:03:27. > :03:30.reviewing security arrangements. South Wales Police says it will be

:03:31. > :03:38.increasing visibility in crowded areas and at iconic locations. At --

:03:39. > :03:43.the police investigation continued at the scene today. Detectives are

:03:44. > :03:47.searching several addresses including one in Carmarthenshire. No

:03:48. > :03:52.arrests have been made there and the local police say people should

:03:53. > :03:59.remain alert but not alarmed. As the so-called Islamic State group can --

:04:00. > :04:03.claim to be attacked, Muslim leaders condemned it. We stand in solidarity

:04:04. > :04:10.with the people of the country, we are British and it is our community

:04:11. > :04:15.which has been attacked. This man knows all too well the pain that

:04:16. > :04:23.random attack like this can cause. His sister was killed in the 7/7

:04:24. > :04:27.bombings. There are four families for whom their loved ones will not

:04:28. > :04:31.be coming back. I know what that is like and I would not wish it on

:04:32. > :04:35.anybody, I have said that time and time again over the last decade, it

:04:36. > :04:42.is terrible thing to go through and my heart goes out to them. As the

:04:43. > :04:45.families grieve, the Metropolitan Police said tonight that its

:04:46. > :04:49.investigation into Khalid Masood's attack continues to develop at a

:04:50. > :04:57.fast pace and involves hundreds of detectives.

:04:58. > :05:09.Our Parliamentary reporter is in Trafalgar Square. Londoners have

:05:10. > :05:15.gathered to hear from the Mayor of London Sadik Khan and the Home

:05:16. > :05:19.Secretary Amber Rudd. That mood has been echoed in the House of Commons,

:05:20. > :05:24.where MPs have tried to make it as normal as Thursday as possible.

:05:25. > :05:28.David Davis, the MP for Monmouth, who was caught up in the attacks

:05:29. > :05:32.yesterday, said he longed for today to be one of those Thursdays when

:05:33. > :05:38.they argue about trivial local issues. It was not quite that, as

:05:39. > :05:44.Theresa May briefed MPs, updated them and the attacks and what she

:05:45. > :05:49.had learned in the past 24 hours. That doesn't mean, despite the

:05:50. > :05:53.solidarity and cross-party agreement in attacking what went on, that

:05:54. > :05:58.there has not been a debate about how to respond to these attacks.

:05:59. > :06:04.Plaid Cymru in particular were concerned that a knee jerk response

:06:05. > :06:10.could inadvertently fuel extremism. Theresa May's message was clear, she

:06:11. > :06:14.said the best response is normality. David, thank you.

:06:15. > :06:23.who was convicted of murdering his wife, will not face further action

:06:24. > :06:26.following the discovery of her body 20 years after she went missing.

:06:27. > :06:29.The remains of Sandie Bowen were found in a reservoir

:06:30. > :06:34.Mike Bowen was jailed for life in 1998, but has since been released

:06:35. > :06:43.An inquest has heard that the use of a taser stun gun MAY NOT have

:06:44. > :06:49.induced the fatal cardiac arrest suffered by Matthew Williams,

:06:50. > :06:52.who killed 22-year-old Cerys Yemm at a B near Caerphilly in 2014.

:06:53. > :06:55.Two consultant cardiologists told an inquest jury that they believe

:06:56. > :06:59.other factors played a part in his death, including amphetamine

:07:00. > :07:01.use, stress from the attack and a subsequent struggle

:07:02. > :07:03.with police officers, and Williams' undiagnosed schizophrenia.

:07:04. > :07:10.A woman from Carmarthenshire who lost a high-profile libel battle

:07:11. > :07:16.with the chief executive of Carmarthenshire Council has been

:07:17. > :07:29.ordered to pay him ?250 a month in damages for ten years.

:07:30. > :07:30.Blogger Jacqui Thompson, from Llanwrda, was arrested

:07:31. > :07:33.for filming a council meeting in 2011, and went on to make

:07:34. > :07:35.a failed libel bid against the chief executive, Mark James.

:07:36. > :07:38.If she defaults, her share of her house will be sold.

:07:39. > :07:46.Didn't quite get, the order was not quite what was expected, but I will

:07:47. > :07:52.have to think about what has happened, plus the costs. At least

:07:53. > :07:57.the judge has given us a decent length of time to try and sort it

:07:58. > :07:59.out. It could have been over with within a month or two, that is

:08:00. > :08:02.something. More than ?20 million will be

:08:03. > :08:04.invested in the food It was announced at the biggest-ever

:08:05. > :08:08.meeting of Welsh food The Welsh Government says

:08:09. > :08:12.the money - from the EU's Rural Development Programme -

:08:13. > :08:14.will fund research into global food trends, as our economics

:08:15. > :08:16.correspondent, Sarah Dickins, Welsh through and through,

:08:17. > :08:22.grown here, made here, marketed here and today,

:08:23. > :08:24.on display for buyers This isn't about ensuring

:08:25. > :08:30.that they can grow to the point of selling their business

:08:31. > :08:32.to interests outside of Wales. This is making sure that

:08:33. > :08:36.as we leave the European Union, food and drink producers remain

:08:37. > :08:38.in the strongest position Food is central to the Welsh

:08:39. > :08:45.economy, from the farmers that grow it, the food producers

:08:46. > :08:47.and the hotels and I assume they're all down

:08:48. > :08:53.south, the vineyards? More than a quarter of a million

:08:54. > :09:02.people work in the wider industry, So we have some leek salami,

:09:03. > :09:09.laver bread at the back, In Pontardawe this husband

:09:10. > :09:12.and wife business has been They learned how to make

:09:13. > :09:16.salami abroad and then developed their own version

:09:17. > :09:18.at a food centre run Ruth Davis is packing samples

:09:19. > :09:25.for the buyers she plans to court. It's great, because I feel I'm not

:09:26. > :09:28.going around knocking on doors, they are coming to us

:09:29. > :09:31.under one roof, and I will speak to as many as I can and hopefully

:09:32. > :09:37.we will get some orders. More than 1000 meetings

:09:38. > :09:39.have been arranged. All around me there are buyers

:09:40. > :09:44.from all around the world meeting up The hope is that they will find

:09:45. > :09:50.customers here to help their businesses grow and ultimately

:09:51. > :09:54.that's good for the Welsh economy. So what are buyers from across

:09:55. > :09:57.the globe looking for? The American firm John Rogers works

:09:58. > :10:00.for is the largest importer It is those type of products that

:10:01. > :10:06.are innovative, trendy, have a local back story,

:10:07. > :10:10.a romance to it, and that is what consumers in the trade

:10:11. > :10:14.in the United States really love. He really loved the laver

:10:15. > :10:26.bread salami and he is to see about getting it

:10:27. > :10:29.out to America. And you've got some meetings

:10:30. > :10:33.with some supermarkets? We have just had Aldi asking

:10:34. > :10:36.if they can have a meeting with us The Welsh food and drink industry

:10:37. > :10:47.board already had a stiff growth target to reach,

:10:48. > :10:49.even before Brexit, and with Wales leaving the EU

:10:50. > :11:09.all future relationships The ombudsman for Wales, Nick

:11:10. > :11:14.Bennett, says it is like groundhog day in Wales with a culture of fear

:11:15. > :11:20.and blame and a defensive attitude from too many organisations. The

:11:21. > :11:23.number of complaints about public services has doubled in a decade, we

:11:24. > :11:28.have gone from investigating a thousand complaints to over 2000

:11:29. > :11:31.this year. I think the number of complaints will increase by at least

:11:32. > :11:37.5% over the next year. We can either do real with an ever-increasing

:11:38. > :11:41.number of frustrated service users in Wales or we can try to do more to

:11:42. > :11:46.make sure that things are being corrected at source.

:11:47. > :11:54.The Welsh government says they will consider the results of the findings

:11:55. > :11:57.-- the findings of the report. The body representing councils says it

:11:58. > :11:59.hopes new legislation will lead to improvements.

:12:00. > :12:02.A Kurdish Syrian refugee who fled his home near Aleppo

:12:03. > :12:04.after it was attacked by so-called Islamic State has described feeling

:12:05. > :12:07.isolated now that his family has been resettled in North Wales.

:12:08. > :12:11.Omer Muslem came to Colwyn Bay with his wife and son from a refugee

:12:12. > :12:22.He's been speaking to Matthew Richards.

:12:23. > :12:24.Looking back on the life they left behind -

:12:25. > :12:27.Omer and his wife Shireen are a long way from the rubble of Kobani,

:12:28. > :12:34.the city near Aleppo in Syria they were forced to leave.

:12:35. > :12:41.2014 Islamic State attacked it. Maybe you remember it. It was

:12:42. > :12:52.destruction, everything. Then we moved to Iraq. There was

:12:53. > :12:57.destruction. An agency work in that country but it isn't enough. Every

:12:58. > :13:05.family in Syria has lost one person in their family. I know I have lost

:13:06. > :13:09.a brother, the two years I don't know whether he is alive or dead.

:13:10. > :13:12.Mirvan was born in the Iraqi refugee camp.

:13:13. > :13:15.He's now a toddler, adapting to a very different environment.

:13:16. > :13:18.When the family arrived in North Wales they were initially

:13:19. > :13:20.confused about where they were - the county, and not

:13:21. > :13:39.I don't know where is Conwy. I was telling family we live in Conwy but

:13:40. > :13:47.we looked at the maps and Conwy is another country. The family are cut

:13:48. > :13:50.off from everything they once knew so they are trying desperately to

:13:51. > :13:51.make connections and return to normality.

:13:52. > :13:53.Omer is trying to make contact with other Kurdish

:13:54. > :14:02.I hope I meet many people but I know I have some friends. There is a lady

:14:03. > :14:04.from the council, they come every day and help meet. They are very

:14:05. > :14:05.good people. Building on the teaching he did

:14:06. > :14:08.at the refugee camp, Omer wants to earn qualifications

:14:09. > :14:10.here and hopes one day to help his compatriots who haven't

:14:11. > :14:13.able to leave Syria. Omer Muslem speaking

:14:14. > :14:16.to Matthew Richards. Time for tonight's sport

:14:17. > :14:19.now - here's Claire. Wales have arrived in Dublin ahead

:14:20. > :14:24.of their crucial World Cup qualifier against the Republic

:14:25. > :14:27.of Ireland tomorrow night. Manager Chris Coleman says he's

:14:28. > :14:30.reluctant to declare it a "must-win" match but his players know they need

:14:31. > :14:48.to close the gap The first few hundreds have already

:14:49. > :14:53.arrived, with a familiar anthem. The away fans cautiously optimistic.

:14:54. > :14:59.Chris Coleman is in Dublin with his strongest squad yet in this

:15:00. > :15:03.campaign. In a campaign you get halfway and see where you are, are

:15:04. > :15:08.you fighting at the wrong or the right" macro all this pressure on us

:15:09. > :15:16.is what we wanted. -- or the right end. We still have a say in who

:15:17. > :15:21.finishes top, who finishes second. While Wales are pretty much it., the

:15:22. > :15:24.Republic of Ireland are considerably weakened. Several players have

:15:25. > :15:29.pulled out. Martin O'Neill says he has not seen anything like it. Those

:15:30. > :15:33.who were fit trained on the outskirts of Dublin this morning,

:15:34. > :15:37.Robbie Brady it suspended and five others injured. It is the lengthiest

:15:38. > :15:44.list of injuries O'Neill has had to deal with in the job. We have

:15:45. > :15:48.players who can come in. By the time the game is finished tomorrow

:15:49. > :15:55.evening we are looking at halfway to the campaign. I think if you were to

:15:56. > :15:59.ask any of the players or the coaches of any of the national sides

:16:00. > :16:04.in our group they would say the same. Wales are one of three

:16:05. > :16:11.unbeaten sides in the group. Chris Coleman's men are third, outside the

:16:12. > :16:14.automatic qualifying spot and a possible play-off place. Chris

:16:15. > :16:23.Gunter is set to become the third most capped layer level with Craig

:16:24. > :16:27.Bellamy behind I -- only Gary speed and Neville Southall. He made his

:16:28. > :16:33.debut in a 2-2 draw against New Zealand and has not mist many games

:16:34. > :16:36.since. It is nice to be mentioned alongside some of the players I have

:16:37. > :16:44.got level with or whatever. It is a proud feeling. Spare a thought for

:16:45. > :16:48.Joe Ledley, his wife Ruby expecting their third child, due to give birth

:16:49. > :16:52.on Monday. His roommate hopes they will not be an early surprise.

:16:53. > :16:58.Hopefully she doesn't drop until after the game. He is not going to

:16:59. > :17:03.disappear? Hopefully not, I would be lost without him. The Wales players

:17:04. > :17:08.are not saying publicly that this is must wind but tomorrow night's

:17:09. > :17:12.result could go a long way to deciding whether Wales make it to

:17:13. > :17:13.the World Cup next year. A Welsh wind would throw the group wide

:17:14. > :17:15.open. Cycling, and Welshman Geraint Thomas

:17:16. > :17:18.is still third overall after stage four of seven

:17:19. > :17:20.of the Tour of Catalonia. His Sky team-mate

:17:21. > :17:22.Chris Froome is fifth. Both finished safely

:17:23. > :17:24.in the lead group today. Organisers of the Tour

:17:25. > :17:25.reduced today's stage And Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg

:17:26. > :17:32.has been voted Six Nations player of the tournament for the second

:17:33. > :17:35.year running, with almost a quarter In a public vote, Wales scrum half

:17:36. > :17:40.Rhys Webb finished eighth and hooker And just to say, ahead

:17:41. > :17:45.of kickoff in Dublin tomorrow night we'll be live,

:17:46. > :17:47.bringing you all the latest as Wales head into that crucial

:17:48. > :17:49.World Cup qualifier. Does Wales need a national

:17:50. > :17:56.gallery of modern art? At the moment the best

:17:57. > :17:59.of the country's art from the last hundred years can be found

:18:00. > :18:01.in existing museums and smaller But major work has begun

:18:02. > :18:07.to determine whether a new gallery is needed, where it might go,

:18:08. > :18:10.and what it could contain. Our arts and media correspondent,

:18:11. > :18:16.Huw Thomas, has more. They are the type of

:18:17. > :18:19.works that could hang They are by Kevin

:18:20. > :18:22.Sinnott, one of our Near his home, he has opened Studio

:18:23. > :18:43.18 to put grand art on He backs a big new home

:18:44. > :18:47.for modern and contemporary art, giving a permanent space

:18:48. > :18:49.to works that are permanently spread There's something about

:18:50. > :18:52.a separate venue or building that gives it emphasis,

:18:53. > :18:55.an accent that this is serious. The National Museum

:18:56. > :18:57.in Cardiff houses the bulk of the national art collection but the

:18:58. > :19:00.Welsh government is funding a big feasibility study that will set out

:19:01. > :19:03.what's needed, where it will be The gallery is expected

:19:04. > :19:06.to focus on Welsh art from the last 100 years but

:19:07. > :19:09.the debate is wide open. We certainly want a place

:19:10. > :19:12.which could be full of excitement in Everybody who wants that

:19:13. > :19:16.wants to see how it fits in with the existing scene,

:19:17. > :19:19.with existing galleries. There are already national galleries

:19:20. > :19:22.in other parts of the UK, including the building that overlooks

:19:23. > :19:25.Trafalgar Square. Here in London the National

:19:26. > :19:28.Gallery attracts the tourists and all of the money

:19:29. > :19:32.they spend in the city as well. And the people who are

:19:33. > :19:34.backing a national gallery for Wales say it

:19:35. > :19:36.will have an economic But not everyone feels a new

:19:37. > :19:42.building is the best investment. The Cardiff-born

:19:43. > :19:44.cultural critic Stephen Of course you could make

:19:45. > :19:47.an interesting new building in Aberystwyth

:19:48. > :19:50.or somewhere, why not? You'd have to be out

:19:51. > :20:00.of your mind to be against it. I just think it's a conventional,

:20:01. > :20:02.old-fashioned way of thinking and I'd rather see

:20:03. > :20:04.a different sort of investment. With initial work just

:20:05. > :20:06.starting on a new national gallery and a full

:20:07. > :20:09.feasibility study to come later this year, it will be some time yet

:20:10. > :20:11.before paintings like Derek's here now with

:20:12. > :20:18.the latest weather forecast. I think we've seen the last

:20:19. > :20:21.of the rain for a while. The next few days much

:20:22. > :20:24.drier than recently. Tonight, dry and clear but some

:20:25. > :20:34.cloud will spread from the east. Lighter winds in mid and north Wales

:20:35. > :20:47.with a frost in places. So here's the picture

:20:48. > :20:49.for eight tomorrow morning. Chilly but dry, bright

:20:50. > :20:57.in the southwest. The southeast, much of Powys

:20:58. > :21:00.and parts of the north cloudy Sunny in Llandudno, northwest

:21:01. > :21:05.Gwynedd and on Anglesey. So a dry day tomorrow,

:21:06. > :21:08.the best of the sunshine in parts Elsewhere it should brighten up

:21:09. > :21:14.during the afternoon. Top temperatures 10 to 13 Celsius

:21:15. > :21:17.with a light to moderate east On the North Coast tomorrow,

:21:18. > :21:20.a lovely day, dry and sunny. 12 Celsius in Prestatyn

:21:21. > :21:23.with a breeze. And the sun should break

:21:24. > :21:28.through in the afternoon. Eight Celsius in Blaenavon

:21:29. > :21:31.with a chilly wind. For football fans in Dublin,

:21:32. > :21:38.dry and sunny there tomorrow. Perfect for the match

:21:39. > :21:41.in the evening but turning cool. The sky mostly clear and it

:21:42. > :21:46.will turn quite cold. Some frost and fog in parts

:21:47. > :21:50.of the mid and north Wales. Saturday should be a nice day,

:21:51. > :21:53.fine with plenty of sunshine. After a cold start it will turn
