:01:08. > :01:17.with plenty of wheel spin It's been described by his former

:02:26. > :02:28.the Assembly he will even become a Conservative AM. But he's not
:02:29. > :02:33.looking to try and rejoin his own party. Even Mark Reckless knows the

:03:34. > :03:37.and he believes he can have more impact working with the

:04:00. > :04:03.Assembly. As a member of the Conservatives. I regret his
:04:04. > :04:08.departure, because he is not about ability but I think he has shown a

:05:00. > :05:06.back in front line politics, one of the seven new Ukip AM 's elected to
:05:07. > :05:10.the National Assembly. Crossing the floor to defect to another party is
:05:11. > :05:15.always difficult for a politician. They risked charges of hypocrisy.
:05:16. > :05:20.Four Reckless it is difficult because he is going back as well.
:05:21. > :05:25.Away from the personalities, the move has implications for the way

:05:30. > :05:31.Nick, Mark Reckless is a Conservative AM now,
:05:32. > :05:44.How much of a risk is this for the Conservatives? First of all, if you
:05:45. > :05:51.look at the actual status that surrounds this, Mark Reckless is a
:05:52. > :05:57.senior Conservative politician and yet he is not a member of the party.
:05:58. > :06:01.What's more, the senior brass within the party don't want him to become a
:06:02. > :06:07.member, the Conservatives here at the Assembly knew this would be
:06:08. > :06:13.criticised by senior figures within the party. They got that today, but
:06:14. > :06:17.behind the scenes they say that it wasn't as harsh as they were
:06:18. > :06:22.expecting. In other words, they feel they can cut this out and persuade
:06:23. > :06:26.the party of the merits of what they're trying to achieve which is
:06:27. > :06:33.to bring Mark Reckless in getting the status they need as the official
:06:34. > :06:39.opposition here. The real gamble is that he becomes alienated from the
:06:40. > :06:45.rest of the party. For example, under the rules as we've got them,
:06:46. > :06:49.about Mark Reckless, will he be able to call himself a conservative
:06:50. > :06:54.Assembly member? But one Conservative MP I spoke to felt that
:06:55. > :06:59.was delusional when there is no way that he can become an actual member
:07:00. > :07:05.of the party. That anger isn't going to go away. Any unhappiness from the
