:00:53. > :00:54.in the city have been searched by police.

:00:55. > :01:04.From yesterday afternoon, through the night and today, the police have

:01:05. > :01:09.been searching this news now the Riverside area of Cardiff. Though

:01:10. > :01:12.not confirmed, it is believed to be connected to the investigation by

:01:13. > :01:19.counter-terrorism police. The BBC understands that the arrest made

:01:20. > :01:23.yesterday afternoon in Cardiff is related to alleged Islamist

:01:24. > :01:27.terrorism. The Metropolitan Police indicated that the arrest relates to

:01:28. > :01:33.a possible attack within the UKment the man that lives here in Rennie

:01:34. > :01:39.Street has not been named but local people say he lived there more than

:01:40. > :01:44.20 years, a Cardiff man. Former councillor, Mohammed Islam lives in

:01:45. > :01:48.this neighbourhood. He told me about how people feel about what happened.

:01:49. > :01:53.It is shocking and horrifying for us in the local community. The

:01:54. > :01:57.Riverside has become a centre point for media as well as the police, the

:01:58. > :02:02.Metropolitan Police, for this operation for this kind of incident

:02:03. > :02:10.it is very upsetting for the local residents.

:02:11. > :02:14.The local residents of the area find it disturbing and upsetting for us,

:02:15. > :02:18.especially for family and young children. We wake up in the morning

:02:19. > :02:22.and we see the police vans, so it is not really nice.

:02:23. > :02:26.Another man who lived here all his life told me how shocked he was.

:02:27. > :02:32.It is worrying to are my children and stuff when they go to the shops

:02:33. > :02:37.and see people walking and the police around. They get terrified.

:02:38. > :02:40.The 33-year-old man arrested in the city yesterday afternoon is being

:02:41. > :02:47.held at a Central London police station. Questioned on suspicion of

:02:48. > :02:50.the commission, preparation and the instigation of Terrorist Acts. The

:02:51. > :02:56.police say that the arrest was prove planned. The result of an

:02:57. > :03:00.investigation by the NPS Counter Terrorism Command, supported by the

:03:01. > :03:05.Wales Extremism and counter-terrorism Unit. Meanwhile,

:03:06. > :03:08.another search has been taking place at a house in the nearby Grangetown

:03:09. > :03:14.at a house in the nearby Grangetown areas of the city.

:03:15. > :03:17.A man who says he was sexually abused as a teenager,

:03:18. > :03:20.has told a jury he has nightmares about a birthmark on the face

:03:21. > :03:23.Mold Crown Court heard how Former Chief

:03:47. > :04:00.It's emerged tonight that Welsh universities WILL not be allowed

:04:01. > :04:03.to charge more for courses next year - unlike their

:04:04. > :04:08.Education Secretary Kirsty Williams says the maximum they'll be able

:04:09. > :04:11.to charge will remain at ?9,000, compared to ?9,250 over the border.

:04:12. > :04:21.Our education correspondent, Bethan Lewis has more.

:04:22. > :04:30.Now at the moment universities in Wales and England can charge a

:04:31. > :04:34.maximum of ?9,000 a year for full-time undergraduate courses.

:04:35. > :04:42.Over the summer, the UK Government announced that English universities

:04:43. > :04:46.would be able to charge more than that next year, ?9250,000 and after

:04:47. > :04:50.that increasing the fees inline with inflation. The Welsh Government

:04:51. > :04:54.decides on fee levels for universities in Wales and the

:04:55. > :05:00.Education Secretary, Kirsty Williams has written today to say that the

:05:01. > :05:05.fee will be frozen in Wales and the maximum fee level not going higher

:05:06. > :05:10.than ?9,000 next year. She says that Welsh students studying in England

:05:11. > :05:15.can extend tuition fees loans to cover extra costs if the courses

:05:16. > :05:21.become more expensive. The reaction today coming from the NUS, they have

:05:22. > :05:27.welcomed the announcement. In the summer, the vice chancellor of

:05:28. > :05:31.Swansea University, reacted to the decision in the rise in English

:05:32. > :05:36.university fees, said there was a risk that Welsh universities could

:05:37. > :05:41.become second rate if they were not allowed to charge more. We have

:05:42. > :05:46.spoken to him, he hopes that the Welsh Government will allow for

:05:47. > :05:55.inflation in university costs but really everybody to focus on the

:05:56. > :06:00.university education next week and what the review will say about the

:06:01. > :06:06.tuition fee grant, the ?5,000 that the Welsh Government pays towards

:06:07. > :06:09.Welsh student tuition fees. So a part of the jigsaw of student

:06:10. > :06:11.finances announced today but more to come next week.

:06:12. > :06:14.The Icelandic government confirmed it's considering legal action.
