:00:42. > :00:44.ploughed into a busy Christmas market in Berlin, have been talking

:00:45. > :00:46.of their attempts to help those who were hurt.

:00:47. > :00:49.Rhys Meredith and his girlfriend Sara Dobler described

:00:50. > :00:53.the devastation that has left 12 people dead and 48 injured.

:00:54. > :00:56.Back home, counter-terror police in Wales are advising people

:00:57. > :01:08.The aftermath, as emergency services try to piece together the events

:01:09. > :01:17.Among those at the scene were two tourists from Cardiff.

:01:18. > :01:19.They were just metres away with the lorry ploughed

:01:20. > :01:25.We, literally, had just sat down to get a bite to eat.

:01:26. > :01:28.We heard what we thought were explosions.

:01:29. > :01:31.We did not realise a lorry had gone through.

:01:32. > :01:40.Instinct prevailed, really, and we were just determined to get

:01:41. > :01:43.in there and help as much as we could.

:01:44. > :01:47.A few people were putting others into recovery positions.

:01:48. > :01:49.A mother and children were trying to take them

:01:50. > :01:52.away from the scene, because we saw...

:01:53. > :02:00.I don't think we could put into detail enough words about how

:02:01. > :02:06.But Sara said she was able to comfort some,

:02:07. > :02:12.I saw a man trying to move on the ground.

:02:13. > :02:17.My first reaction was, "I need to see if he's OK."

:02:18. > :02:25.He was speaking a different language and it was more of a murmur.

:02:26. > :02:30.Unfortunately, he had a severe gash of the side of his head.

:02:31. > :02:33.I remember just holding his hand and telling him that

:02:34. > :02:45.Here, the counterterrorism police say the threat level

:02:46. > :02:58.They are advising the public to be alert, but not alarmed.

:02:59. > :03:01.A mother has been found guilty of plotting to let a man

:03:02. > :03:03.Cardiff Crown Court heard how 54-year-old Stuart Bailey

:03:04. > :03:06.from Rhondda Cynon Taff, and the mother - who cannot be

:03:07. > :03:08.named for legal reasons - planned the sex attack

:03:09. > :03:17.The funeral has been held of a man from Swansea who was killed

:03:18. > :03:20.when the Didcot Power Station collapsed in February.

:03:21. > :03:23.Christopher Huxtable was one of four men who died.

:03:24. > :03:26.His coffin was carried on a truck by the local recycling firm

:03:27. > :03:34.An investigation into the cause of his death is still ongoing.

:03:35. > :03:38.A BBC Wales investigation has found the company that underwrote

:03:39. > :03:41.a ?1 million Welsh government grant to the online takeaway ordering

:03:42. > :03:47.service kukd.com is involved in a tax fraud enquiry.

:03:48. > :03:49.Earlier this year, the Welsh government launched an investigation

:03:50. > :03:52.into how the ?1 million of taxpayers' money

:03:53. > :04:01.The Welsh company kukd.com were set up two years ago.

:04:02. > :04:03.Its website and app allowed customers to order takeaways

:04:04. > :04:09.It is the latest venture from Newport's Shaleem Hussain,who

:04:10. > :04:12.has an MBE for services to Welsh business.

:04:13. > :04:16.The company was in line for a grant of nearly ?3 million from the Welsh

:04:17. > :04:19.who has an MBE for services to Welsh business.

:04:20. > :04:22.The company was in line for a grant of nearly ?3 million from the Welsh

:04:23. > :04:24.government over three years, for creating jobs in Wales.

:04:25. > :04:27.Kukd received the first ?1 million, but further payments were suspended

:04:28. > :04:31.after some staff were laid off and their jobs were

:04:32. > :04:33.The Welsh government is investigating whether conditions

:04:34. > :04:38.I am the founder of the EuroFoods Group in Newport.

:04:39. > :04:43.He is also the director in its sister company, EuroFoods Group -

:04:44. > :04:47.the guarantor for the ?1 million grant given to Kukd.

:04:48. > :04:49.This means EuroFoods will be liable to pay back the grant,

:04:50. > :04:55.The company employs more than 200 people and delivers to the ethnic

:04:56. > :04:58.catering industry and specialist supermarkets across the UK,

:04:59. > :05:05.BBC Wales has discovered EuroFoods is at the centre

:05:06. > :05:08.of an investigation by HMRC, for suspected tax fraud or evasion.

:05:09. > :05:13.They have issued what is known as a Code of Practice Nine Order

:05:14. > :05:15.and the tax affairs of the company are being scrutinised

:05:16. > :05:23.Anton Lane advises companies involved in these investigations.

:05:24. > :05:27.To move into Code of Practice Nine is not common.

:05:28. > :05:36.It can result in criminal prosecution.

:05:37. > :05:39.This is the last chance for a taxpayer to hold their hands

:05:40. > :05:41.up and tell the truth, to avoid being prosecuted.

:05:42. > :05:43.Some are questioning whether the Welsh government should

:05:44. > :05:47.have been made aware of enquiries into the company's tax affairs.

:05:48. > :05:50.What is worrying is that the Welsh governments don't seem to have been

:05:51. > :05:53.in the loop on this investigation and yet they handed over ?1 million

:05:54. > :06:00.I would have hoped that, before the money was handed over,

:06:01. > :06:02.a simple question would have been asked of the guarantor,

:06:03. > :06:05.circumstances and in this respect, Eurofoods, to say, "Has there been

:06:06. > :06:09.any material change in your circumstances since you made

:06:10. > :06:13.In a statement, EuroFoods said they were subject to a tax

:06:14. > :06:16.investigation to every ten years. It said the company was co-operating

:06:17. > :06:22.The Welsh Government says it is unable to comment

:06:23. > :06:25.while its own investigation into the grant to

:06:26. > :06:32.The public spending watchdog, the Wales Audit Office,

:06:33. > :06:34.is considering including Kukd in the review of the Welsh

:06:35. > :06:37.government's financial support for businesses.

:06:38. > :06:40.It comes in the wake of several high-profile cases, where companies

:06:41. > :06:45.got into difficulties or collapsed after receiving public finding.

:06:46. > :06:50.The review is expected to launch early in 2017.

:06:51. > :06:53.It's being described as the worst act of pollution to hit

:06:54. > :06:59.All the salmon and sea trout in a two-mile stretch of the river

:07:00. > :07:02.in Ceredigion have been killed by a slurry leak.

:07:03. > :07:05.More than 1000 fish have died there, and Natural Resources Wales say

:07:06. > :07:13.the majority of fish up to six miles downriver have also died.

:07:14. > :07:18.For the river to recover, it is going to take decades.

:07:19. > :07:24.It's going to take time for all that poison to wash through.

:07:25. > :07:27.Then it's going to take a long time for the insects to come back.

:07:28. > :07:31.And it's only then, if you're lucky, the fish will come back.

:07:32. > :07:34.300 new jobs will be created in Pembrokeshire
