:00:42. > :00:46.Stephen Vaughan and Phillip Allen, both from Swansea, and Robert Parker

:00:47. > :00:49.from Cwmbran, died alongside Mitzi Steady, who was from Bath.

:00:50. > :00:52.Their families told the court about the life-changing impact

:00:53. > :00:58.of the crash in Bath two years ago, as Ben Price reports.

:00:59. > :01:01.This was the scene near Bath in February 2015 after the brakes

:01:02. > :01:05.of a 32 tonne tipper truck failed to work causing it to career out

:01:06. > :01:10.of control, devastating everything in its path.

:01:11. > :01:12.Tonight the owner of Grittenham Haulage Ltd,

:01:13. > :01:15.Matthew Gordon, is starting a seven and a half year jail sentence

:01:16. > :01:19.for the manslaughter of four innocent lives.

:01:20. > :01:22.The judge described Gordon as a man who had showed more concern

:01:23. > :01:27.A business owner who flouted the rules.

:01:28. > :01:30.Mechanic Peter Wood will spend five years and three months behind bars,

:01:31. > :01:33.the judge told him that he should have known that his casual attitude

:01:34. > :01:40.We need to remember the devastation that their gross negligence

:01:41. > :01:44.caused to innocent lives and their families.

:01:45. > :01:48.As well as the deep impact this has had on the community at large.

:01:49. > :01:52.Including the driver of the bus, the emergency services,

:01:53. > :01:56.and all the passers-by who attended the scene.

:01:57. > :01:58.Philip Allen from Swansea and Robert Parker from Cwmbran

:01:59. > :02:02.were on business the day of the crash.

:02:03. > :02:04.Stephen Vaughan from Swansea, a professional chauffeur had

:02:05. > :02:10.As they meade their way back to Wales they travelled

:02:11. > :02:14.as they did so there was nothing Mr Vaughan

:02:15. > :02:16.could do to avoid the truck which careered towards them.

:02:17. > :02:21.The track had also hit four-year-old Mitzi Steady,

:02:22. > :02:24.killing her as she tried to cross the road.

:02:25. > :02:28.Her grandmother suffered life changing injuries.

:02:29. > :02:31.Gordon and Wood listened in the dark as a series of very emotional victim

:02:32. > :02:38.Stephen Vaughan's wife, Sian, wept as she spoke of her loss

:02:39. > :02:41.and described the time she had to go to identify her husband's body.

:02:42. > :02:44.The man she'd married just six months before the crash.

:02:45. > :02:48.We would have had a family by now, which we've been denied.

:02:49. > :02:52.You know, the owner of the company has gone on to have a child,

:02:53. > :03:00.You know, I feel very upset over that.

:03:01. > :03:03.He's gone to have a life, and mine has been taken away from me.

:03:04. > :03:05.Phillip Allen leaves behind two grown-up children,

:03:06. > :03:10.His wife, Louise, said he was her soul mate,

:03:11. > :03:14.the family had been looking forward to seeing him give his daughter

:03:15. > :03:19.away at her wedding, but he died before he could walk down the aisle.

:03:20. > :03:22.In her statement Louise Allen said Hayley's wedding day will always be

:03:23. > :03:29.remembered as bittersweet, emotional day.

:03:30. > :03:31.Robert Parker was married for 42 years, and had one son, his wife,

:03:32. > :03:44.Denise, said their lives can never be the same again.

:03:45. > :03:46.The judge, Mr Justice Langstaff described the condition

:03:47. > :03:49.of the brakes on the vehicle which crashed as appalling,

:03:50. > :03:52.and he said the failures of Gordon and Woods to maintain

:03:53. > :03:59.He said this was not a one-off, but an accident waiting to happen,

:04:00. > :04:03.which devastated the lives of so many families.

:04:04. > :04:06.Gordon and Woods were jailed for a total of 12 years and nine months.

:04:11. > :04:14.The Labour MP, Jo Stevens, has resigned as shadow Welsh

:04:15. > :04:17.secretary over her party leader's instruction that Labour MPs

:04:18. > :04:20.must vote to support the bill to trigger Brexit.

:04:21. > :04:24.In her resignation letter to Jeremy Corbyn, she said

:04:25. > :04:28.she was a passionate European and had been urged by her

:04:29. > :04:31.constituents in Cardiff Central to vote against the Article 50 Bill.

:04:38. > :04:39.but the shadow Secretary of State for Wales has decided that,

:04:47. > :04:49.but she is the first member of the Shadow Cabinet to go.

:04:50. > :04:52.Front bench members of parties are generally expected to resign

:04:57. > :04:59.to vote in a certain way, called a three line whip.

:05:00. > :05:02.In a letter to Jeremy Corbyn the Cardiff Central MP said

:05:03. > :05:05.she believed Brexit is a terrible mistake, and that many of her

:05:06. > :05:08.constituents have strongly urged her to vote against triggering

:05:09. > :05:11.the process of leaving the EU.weather It means a search

:05:12. > :05:17.Since the election in 2015 the post of Shadow Secretary of State

:05:18. > :05:20.for Wales has been filled by Owen Smith, Nia Griffith,

:05:21. > :05:26.The party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, wished Jo Stevens well,

:05:27. > :05:29.said he understood why she was torn, but insisted it's important

:05:30. > :05:32.the Labour Party respect the outcome of the referendum on leaving

:05:33. > :05:37.The leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Andrew RT Davies,

:05:38. > :05:40.has demanded a public apology from the First Minister

:05:41. > :05:44.for accusing him of not wanting to be part of deciding Wales'

:05:45. > :05:48.Writing to Carwyn Jones, Mr Davies called the comment,

:05:49. > :05:51.made on the BBC's Wales Report programme, a "false

:05:52. > :05:55.A spokesman for the First Minister has described

:05:56. > :06:02.BBC Wales understands a one-off pension contribution of up

:06:03. > :06:05.to ten thousand pounds, could be made to Tata
