:00:58. > :01:08.That's how Brandi Clarke from Newport remembers her granddaughter,

:01:18. > :01:31.Ellie-May had a history of severe asthma, ending up in a high
:01:32. > :01:35.dependency unit five times before receiving help from her local
:01:36. > :01:40.surgery a further five times in the six months before her death.
:01:41. > :01:43.On 22nd of January 2015, short of breath, Ellie-May came
:01:44. > :01:51.Her mother rang the surgery to book an emergency appointment.
:01:52. > :01:55.Due at the Grange clinic in Newport at five, Ellie-May's mother said
:01:56. > :01:58.she arrived at eight minutes past, although the receptionist said
:01:59. > :02:05.Dr Joanne Rowe refused to see Ellie-May because she was late
:02:06. > :02:09.and said she could come back the following morning.
:02:10. > :02:14.Later that night, while Ellie-May Mae was in bed,

:02:17. > :02:18.her parents discovered she was having a seizure
:02:19. > :02:22.She died that night after doctors at the Royal Gwent Hospital
:02:23. > :02:25.An internal investigation by Aneurin Bevan Health Board found

:02:30. > :02:33.of having an episode of severe life-threatening asthma.
:02:34. > :02:38.It also adds that whilst some doctors turned no-one away,
:02:39. > :02:42.Dr Rowe was most likely to turn patients away who turned up late.
:02:43. > :02:46.And the report also says that there was a consensus amongst
:02:47. > :02:51.reception staff here that Dr Rowe was unapproachable and volatile,
:02:52. > :02:55.The GP's case was passed to the disciplinary panel.
:02:56. > :02:59.Although Dr Rowe has been issued with a five-year warning,
:03:00. > :03:03.the General Medical Council or GMC dealt with her hearing
:03:04. > :03:11.Ellie-May's family received a copy of the Aneurin Bevan report
:03:12. > :03:16.They've apologised but some are calling for greater transparency.

:05:40. > :05:42.methods of killing. In mitigation, his lawyer said
:05:43. > :05:45.in school, teachers had described him as a gentle giant,
:05:46. > :05:51.a young man with outstanding grades He'd won a scholarship
:05:52. > :05:56.to play American football at University in Canada,
:05:57. > :06:00.but the death of his grandfather and the break-up with Zoe had
:06:01. > :06:04.left him in emotional After the murders, he was diagnosed
:06:05. > :06:08.with adjustment disorder . His lawyer said he was an adolescent
:06:09. > :06:12.who couldn't manage. In the weeks following their deaths,
