:03:08. > :03:09.Over a week after it started, fire fighters are still tackling

:03:10. > :03:13.a 2,000 tonne rubbish fire at a recycling plant

:03:14. > :03:18.Crews have been at the Siteserv Recycling plant in Llandow

:03:19. > :03:22.continually since the blaze began on Thursday last week.

:03:23. > :03:25.Some residents have had to leave home and businesses say it's

:03:26. > :03:34.Billowing across the Vale of Glamorgan countryside,

:03:35. > :03:36.this fire still well alight one week on.

:03:37. > :03:40.Nearby Llandow circuit today surrounded by smoke.

:03:41. > :03:43.Sharon Evans organises motoring events here as well as running

:03:44. > :03:50.She says they've lost around ?12,000 after having to turn customers away.

:03:51. > :03:54.And it's not the first time this has happened.

:03:55. > :03:58.This is the fourth blaze at the site in the past four years.

:03:59. > :04:02.We have 300 people coming every day, with their family that are spending

:04:03. > :04:08.All this is lost, just because of this.

:04:09. > :04:11.This cannot be allowed to happen for a fifth time.

:04:12. > :04:14.Fire fighters have been continuously tackling the blaze since it

:04:15. > :04:22.So far they've had 500 crew fighting it using 125 appliances.

:04:23. > :04:25.What crews were faced with is an extremely difficult fire,

:04:26. > :04:28.both in terms of its intensity and in termos of the difficulty

:04:29. > :04:35.There was a significant amount of structural steelwork

:04:36. > :04:41.We are doing everything we possibly can, working with partners to bring

:04:42. > :04:45.The cause of the blaze is not yet know..

:04:46. > :04:51.But all the previous fires were classed as accidental.

:04:52. > :04:54.This latest fire has led to Natural Resources Wales

:04:55. > :04:57.suspending the licence of operators, Siteserv Recycling, preventing more

:04:58. > :05:03.Siteserv say they are devastated and are working around the clock

:05:04. > :05:07.to help fire fighters bring it under control.

:05:08. > :05:09.The advice to nearby residents and businesses is to stay

:05:10. > :05:13.inside as much as possible, keeping windows and doors closed

:05:14. > :05:16.to reduce exposure to the smoke, although the risk to health

:05:17. > :05:20.Dawn and her family had to temporarily move out

:05:21. > :05:29.We moved out for two nights because the smoke has been so bad

:05:30. > :05:34.We had to bring all the outdoor animals indoors because the cages

:05:35. > :05:40.As I say, we lost baby bunnies, they died,

:05:41. > :05:46.At least 2,000 tonnes of rubbish is burning here,

:05:47. > :05:50.sending fumes as far as Bridgend, Barry and Penarth at times.

:05:51. > :05:53.But it's local residents and business owners who have been

:05:54. > :05:56.affected most by this and with the fire continuing to burn

:05:57. > :05:58.they're likely to have to deal with its effects

:06:05. > :06:07.Crimes involving dogs, including attacks on members of the public,

:06:08. > :06:11.have risen by almost a quarter in Wales.

:06:12. > :06:13.Figures from the four police forces here show the number went up,

:06:14. > :06:21.Despite that increase the number of dogs seized under

:06:22. > :06:28.What we are concerned about is people bringing dogs

:06:29. > :06:32.into the home without assessing the history of the dog,

:06:33. > :06:35.the temperament of the dog and the suitability.

:06:36. > :06:38.And I think there are some unscrupulous breeders,

:06:39. > :06:40.and therefore, when there are welfare concerns that sometimes

:06:41. > :06:46.Bridgend Council has made a "goodwill payment" of more

:06:47. > :06:52.than ?3,000 to a foster care leaver whose savings weren't monitored.

:06:53. > :06:54.The Public Services Ombudsman for Wales had asked

:06:55. > :06:58.the authority to pay Rob Johnson after an investigation

:06:59. > :07:03.found their monitoring of his savings was "inadequate".

:07:04. > :07:06.A lot of people who have gone through social services,

:07:07. > :07:10.through foster care who haven't received their payment and hopefully

:07:11. > :07:13.seeing what's happened with me makes them feel more encouraged to go

:07:14. > :07:18.through and try and earn back their savings.

:07:19. > :07:24.At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to what's theirs.

:07:25. > :07:27.The pilot of a microlight escaped without serious

:07:28. > :07:29.injury after crashing into the River Cleddau

:07:30. > :07:33.The aircraft entered the water at Burton near Neyland yesterday.

:07:34. > :07:39.The pilot managed to swim to shore and was taken to hospital.

:07:40. > :07:42.Cells at Dolgellau police station are being closed after it emerged

:07:43. > :07:47.that keeping people in custody there costs ?623 a night,

:07:48. > :07:50.more than twice that of the other cells in North Wales.

:07:51. > :07:53.North Wales police say they were under used,

:07:54. > :07:56.averaging one detainee a day, with half of those being held

:08:49. > :08:51.across northern parts of England, some rain just coming into Anglesey,

:08:52. > :08:53.Gwyneth, Pembrokeshire as we head into the afternoon but the bulk

:08:57. > :09:02.Here in Wales tomorrow afternoon, yes, some brightness in the East

:09:03. > :09:06.but generally it is a cloudy story with patchy light rain further west
