:00:43. > :00:46.have spoken of their anger that infants have continued to die
:00:47. > :00:49.at the same NHS Trust which is now at the centre
:00:50. > :00:54.Jenson Barnett from Newtown died in 2013 from brain injuries,
:00:55. > :00:58.two days after a failed attempt to deliver him with forceps.
:00:59. > :01:00.The boss of the health trust has apologised unreservedly
:01:01. > :01:09.Little Jenson Barnett should have been nearly four years old now.
:01:10. > :01:11.But he died just two days after he was born
:01:12. > :01:16.Staff tried to deliver him with forceps but they slipped
:01:17. > :01:18.off his head causing injuries to his brain.
:01:19. > :01:22.He was later born by emergency caesarian section but it was
:01:23. > :01:25.We spent that night with him but obviously he had
:01:26. > :01:31.There were six or seven, maybe even more, doctors around him.
:01:32. > :01:42.We spent the night with him and then the day he got moved to a different
:01:43. > :01:51.unit with lots more tubes again but yes, it was not nice.
:01:52. > :01:54.Jenson was one of a number of babies to die at Shrewsbury
:01:55. > :01:56.and Telford NHS Trust over the past eight years.
:01:57. > :01:59.Seven of those deaths, including Jenson's,
:02:00. > :02:05.Kate, who's since had a daughter Isla, says despite an apology
:02:06. > :02:08.and assurances that lessons would be learned she's angry that
:02:09. > :02:11.similar tragedies continued at the trust.
:02:12. > :02:16.At the time they said they were going to do stuff about
:02:17. > :02:19.it and things had changed, but obviously they have not.
:02:20. > :02:23.Seeing all this on the news has really made me quite
:02:24. > :02:30.The Trust, which also provides services
:02:31. > :02:33.for patients across the border in mid Wales delivers around 4,700
:02:34. > :02:38.babies each year - around 224 of them are from the Powys area.
:02:39. > :02:40.Tonight its chief executive has apologised unreservedly to the
:02:41. > :02:48.He said, in recent years independent external reviews have repeatedly
:02:49. > :02:50.shown the Trust is progressing and learning lessons but that it
:02:51. > :02:55.England's Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has asked for a review
:02:56. > :02:57.into the deaths and other incidents at the trust
:02:58. > :03:00.and for the families affected to be kept informed.
:03:01. > :03:03.The Barnett's local MP has welcomed the investigation.
:03:04. > :03:07.One needs to have an investigation into what happened.
:03:08. > :03:09.There has to be full transparency in order
:03:10. > :03:14.There has to be the most fulsome of apologies to any
:03:15. > :03:16.families thathave been affected and had such
:03:17. > :03:21.Kate Barnett and her husband say that Jenson will always be a big
:03:22. > :03:23.part of their family and hope other families will be
:03:24. > :03:29.You go into hospital to have a baby, you do not expect to come out
:03:30. > :03:36.I don't think anything will bring Jenson back
:03:37. > :03:46.but our family and friends, are strong together as well.

:03:52. > :03:54.Many policies aimed at reducing poverty in Wales
:03:55. > :03:57.That's the damning finding of a major new study
:03:58. > :03:59.into the poorest place in the country -
:04:00. > :04:04.Experts spent six months analysing the estate.
:04:05. > :04:06.Our economics correspondent, Sarah Dickins, has
:04:07. > :04:13.Lansbury Park sits almost in the shadow of Caerphilly's
:04:14. > :04:16.famous castle but it is a world away from its grandeur.
:04:17. > :04:20.This is the most deprived community in Wales and although proud
:04:21. > :04:24.and tight knit, it has complex problems.
:04:25. > :04:28.It feels like one that is almost hemmed in, it's one that is almost
:04:29. > :04:33.As a nation we are creating economic policies which are dislocated
:04:34. > :04:37.from people who live in communities like Lansbury.
:04:38. > :04:42.We need to talk to them, engage them rather than leave them behind.
:04:43. > :04:45.With the children in school a group of mothers start their work-out.
:04:46. > :04:47.Lorna and Heid were brought up in Lansbury Park and are still
:04:48. > :04:56.It does not mean that is what is going on in the community.
:04:57. > :05:04.Although Lansbury Park is close to jobs in Cardiff and the M4,
:05:05. > :05:07.I'm told it is hard for young people to get a job.
:05:08. > :05:11.I think there are jobs out there and I think it does not help
:05:12. > :05:16.when people would like to go for a job that they think, it is not
:05:17. > :05:21.worth me trying because I haven't got the qualifications,
:05:22. > :05:27.Two thirds of lone parents are not employed, that's 50% higher
:05:28. > :05:33.Men living on Lansbury Park are more than twice as likely to be
:05:34. > :05:39.You can see the challenges, more than half of the adults
:05:40. > :05:44.on the estate have no qualifications and half have no car.
:05:45. > :05:47.Caerphilly Council owns the social housing, not a housing association.
:05:48. > :05:51.It is making the houses warmer and drier as part of a ?10 million
:05:52. > :05:56.It is also trying to set up work experience for residents
:05:57. > :06:03.It knows it needs to do things very differently and argues that
:06:04. > :06:07.It is about confidence, it is about giving those people
:06:08. > :06:11.the confidence and the self belief that they are worth it.
:06:12. > :06:14.It means working with them to make them believe
:06:15. > :06:27.People say you are not good enough, you believe you are not good enough,
:06:28. > :06:31.There is a real mix of problems here and certainly
:06:32. > :06:35.I have been talking to people at community events,
:06:36. > :06:38.and to community workers here as well and what they tell
:06:39. > :06:41.me is that the group of people who are hardest
:06:42. > :06:46.One solution in the report is that there should be more
:06:47. > :06:49.day-to-day or even mundane jobs here on the estate,
:06:50. > :06:52.for instance, repairing things, caring for people
:06:53. > :06:57.That way there could be jobs here that people would not need
:06:58. > :06:59.too many qualifications for and they would not
:07:00. > :07:03.As the Welsh Government determines its future
:07:04. > :07:06.anti-poverty policies, the message from Lansbury Park will
:07:07. > :07:13.The sister of a woman unlawfully killed at a hostel in Argoed has
:07:14. > :07:17.spoken about how she discovered she'd been murdered on social media.
:07:18. > :07:20.Cerys Yemm was attacked by Matthew Williams in November 2014.
:07:21. > :07:23.Police officers stunned him with a Taser but he later died.
:07:24. > :07:26.Cerys Yemm's sister, Shannon, was speaking on the
:07:27. > :07:34.I had seen a post obviously that there had been a murder in Argoed.
:07:35. > :07:37.Then I had people messaging me via Facebook message saying
:07:38. > :07:41.please don't tell me it's true, it's not your sister.
:07:42. > :07:43.I had to drive home from Cardiff then,
:07:44. > :07:51.Mum was crying, couldn't tell me, couldn't speak on the phone.
:07:52. > :07:54.Gwent Police say there was a delay in telling Cerys Yemm's
:07:55. > :07:56.family about her death, because they wanted her mother to be
:07:57. > :08:01.told by an officer who'd dealt with her previously.
:08:02. > :08:03.The former head of a Swansea homeless charity has
:08:04. > :08:08.admitted forging invoices for ?1.3 million into his own bank account
:08:09. > :08:13.Robert Davies was working for Cyrenians Cymru
:08:14. > :08:15.when he was arrested in December 2014.
:08:16. > :08:18.The charity later went into administration.
:08:19. > :08:24.Davies was remanded in custody, to be sentenced later this month.

:09:49. > :09:56.Today members there were planning a simulated rescue on Tryfan,
:09:57. > :09:59.one of the toughest peaks in Snowdonia.
:10:00. > :10:02.Together the six mountain rescue teams in Wales have had 80
:10:03. > :10:08.As volunteers, we are leaving our homes, work and families to carry
:10:09. > :10:14.out rescues and it is very frustrating when we find people who,
:10:15. > :10:18.it is almost a self-inflicted injury by going out ill-prepared.
:10:19. > :10:20.It is a similar story in South and Mid Wales.
:10:21. > :10:24.The Central Beacons team has had an unprecedented 51 calls
:10:25. > :10:27.since New Year, they know Easter
:10:28. > :10:31.We strive to provide a professional service
:10:32. > :10:34.but we are volunteers and potentially with the increasing
:10:35. > :10:38.trend in calls for help, there is potential for a drain
:10:39. > :10:43.on resources, availability, equipment and funding of course.
:10:44. > :10:46.Without exception, mountain rescuers love the terrain in which they work
:10:47. > :10:49.but they constantly warn that beautiful as they are,
:10:50. > :10:54.the mountains will come back and bite you.
