:00:54. > :00:56.was still needed to convince the voters.

:00:57. > :00:59.There's a lack of understanding and communication as

:01:00. > :01:01.to the relevance of the Welsh Assembly government in

:01:02. > :01:06.And people have a general mistrust of politicians and the

:01:07. > :01:12.With politics it is well, sort of, they'll do it.

:01:13. > :01:13.We will just carry on

:01:14. > :01:16.I think if they let people know enough

:01:17. > :01:19.about politics... because it affects everybody.

:01:20. > :01:22.Andrew RT Davies was the only party leader in Wales to

:01:23. > :01:25.He said that vote gives the political

:01:26. > :01:27.establishment here such a kicking that support for the Assembly and

:01:28. > :01:31.the Welsh government can no longer be taken for granted and that

:01:32. > :01:35.a referendum to create an Assembly would not be won.

:01:36. > :01:38.We've seen with the EU referendum that there is a strong

:01:39. > :01:39.antiestablishment vein running through the voters'

:01:40. > :01:44.The further away from Cardiff you go the less

:01:45. > :01:47.warm the embrace given to the Assembly.

:01:48. > :01:49.Particularly in North Wales and in West Wales for example.

:01:50. > :01:53.It is for politicians to raise their game

:01:54. > :01:54.and promote the virtues of what

:01:55. > :01:57.the National Assembly does for the people of Wales and indeed

:01:58. > :02:00.actually redefine how decision-making is

:02:01. > :02:06.The Assembly was created by the tiniest of margins nearly 20

:02:07. > :02:11.The Welsh government says the public will judge its success on how

:02:12. > :02:13.policies help their lives but that it won't take

:02:14. > :02:20.The last BHS store in Wales has closed today, in Swansea.

:02:21. > :02:22.The company had six stores here - including in Carmarthen,

:02:23. > :02:25.Cardiff Bay, Newport, Wrexham and Llandudno.

:02:26. > :02:27.Hundreds of jobs have been lost in Wales -

:02:28. > :02:30.but the staff in Swansea decided to go out on a high -

:02:31. > :02:38.You'd be forgiven for thinking it's Christmas but staff

:02:39. > :02:41.here are trying to bring some cheer to the store on its final day of

:02:42. > :02:47.55 people work in Swansea including single mum, Dawn.

:02:48. > :02:50.I've been here ten years and I'm absolutely

:02:51. > :03:00.Absolutely loved every minute of working here.

:03:01. > :03:02.Today, she is say goodbye along with the

:03:03. > :03:05.hundreds of shoppers who came to a pick up a bargain and make one

:03:06. > :03:08.last visit to a store that's been here for generations.

:03:09. > :03:10.The other Welsh shops in Carmarthen, Cardiff Bay, Newport,

:03:11. > :03:15.Wrexham and Llandudno have already closed after the retailer was put

:03:16. > :03:23.For our age group we don't get many choices.

:03:34. > :03:35.It's all down to outlets outside the city, that's

:03:36. > :03:47.But despite the uncertainty over the future of

:03:48. > :03:50.their pensions, the store manager told me 80% of his staff have found

:03:51. > :03:54.Lots of the retailers on the high Street have been very

:03:55. > :03:57.They've managed to secure vacancies for our staff and

:03:58. > :04:00.the staff that work here, you know, yes, of course I'm biased but my

:04:01. > :04:04.They are fabulous and the good to be a credit

:04:05. > :04:06.to other people with the go to work for.

:04:07. > :04:10.A couple of weeks ago I had my first interview in ten years

:04:11. > :04:17.Tonight when the doors are closed and the stock cleared the

:04:18. > :04:24.staff are holding their Christmas party.
