:03:02. > :03:04.If the plans are approved to reopen and expand the quarry,

:03:05. > :03:08.residents fear it will cause noise and air pollution,

:03:09. > :03:11.as well as causing gridlock on the roads.

:03:12. > :03:14.I've actually lived through the quarry when it was open

:03:15. > :03:18.before and so I know how bad it is, the blasting, cracks in the walls,

:03:19. > :03:24.things coming off people's shelves and things like that.

:03:25. > :03:26.Going back to 2002, the road structures and everything has

:03:27. > :03:29.changed immensely since then and we just haven't got the roads

:03:30. > :03:33.Quarrying stopped here in 2002, but Tarmac says it's

:03:34. > :03:36.an important source of limestone for the construction industry.

:03:37. > :03:40.The company says there will be passing places on roads and it's

:03:41. > :03:45.agreed to restrictions on quarry traffic travelling through Creigiau.

:03:46. > :03:48.Residents are also concerned that the planned expansion

:03:49. > :03:56.of the quarry would bring operations close to Pentyrch primary school.

:03:57. > :03:59.Cardiff Council says it would be inappropriate to comment at this

:04:00. > :04:01.stage but that all representations will be carefully considered.
