:00:36. > :00:38.When they met on the stairs of the Senedd in July,

:00:39. > :00:42.the newly appointed Prime Minister was meeting the First Minister

:00:43. > :00:44.who is the longest serving leader of any part of the UK.

:00:45. > :00:47.They will need to work closely over how exactly the UK

:00:48. > :00:52.But speaking to the Sunday Politics Wales programme about his hopes

:00:53. > :00:59.on Brexit over the coming year, Carwyn Jones has said he was worried

:01:00. > :01:02.about what he calls the naivete of some new UK Government ministers.

:01:03. > :01:04.There are some realists, but there are some who still say,

:01:05. > :01:06.oh, Europe will basically fall at our feet.

:01:07. > :01:16.We have to be realistic and understand this is a discussion

:01:17. > :01:19.between, not just two parties, but more than 30 different parties

:01:20. > :01:21.when you take into account the different parliament

:01:22. > :01:24.The UK has to relearn the art of diplomacy rather

:01:25. > :01:27.than shouting at foreigners, which is what the impression you get

:01:28. > :01:32.A spokeswoman for the UK Government said it was determined to get

:01:33. > :01:34.the best possible deal for the UK as we leave the EU,

:01:35. > :01:37.and that it is approaching the negotiations in a spirit

:01:38. > :01:39.of goodwill whilst working closely with the Welsh government.

:01:40. > :01:41.The First Minister also said he will travel to Norway

:01:42. > :01:44.in the New Year to learn about their immigration system,

:01:45. > :01:47.where people can stay there for six months to find work.

:01:48. > :01:50.Carwyn Jones favours a system of only allowing people to come

:01:51. > :01:54.here if there is a job waiting for them.

:01:55. > :01:58.Ukip wants a model where points are earned before visas are approved.

:01:59. > :02:03.I think that it has to be controlled and we have to know who is coming

:02:04. > :02:06.into the country and how many people are coming in and we have

:02:07. > :02:13.to look at our small country and we have to,

:02:14. > :02:15.obviously we have to take a responsibility as well

:02:16. > :02:22.Also today, Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns said Brexit could benefit

:02:23. > :02:26.deprived communities that have previously mist out on EU aid.

:02:27. > :02:30.Speaking on Sunday Supplement programme, the Vale of Glamorgan

:02:31. > :02:32.MP said leaving the EU was an opportunity to reshape how

:02:33. > :02:36.Parents at a school in Haverfordwest have been warned about a stranger

:02:37. > :02:39.befriending children on social media, and asking them

:02:40. > :02:46.Sir Thomas Picton School says it's been informed of a number of recent

:02:47. > :02:49.incidents and has advised parents to inform the police

:03:40. > :03:41.Dr Saleyha Ahsan, who works at Ysbyty Gwynedd, is currently

:03:46. > :03:49.The medical supplies have been put together by two doctors,

:04:15. > :04:18.It's going to serve a population of 66,000 children and it's

:04:19. > :04:20.estimated that it will see, treat and look after

:04:21. > :04:24.More than ?170,000 raised across Britain in two weeks.

:04:25. > :04:26.But Doctor Ahsan praised in particular colleagues in Bangor

:04:27. > :04:30.We've even had staff and colleagues contributing financially.

:04:31. > :04:32.One of my colleagues, one of my senior nursing staff,

:04:33. > :04:35.gave me a bunch of money in cash and said, "Instead of Christmas,

:04:36. > :04:37.we would like to give you the money."

:04:38. > :04:41.Meanwhile in Cardiff today Syrians from the Syrian Welsh Society held

:04:42. > :04:48.We have more than 100,000 people in Aleppo living

:04:49. > :04:50.in the middle of nowhere now, no schools, no medicine,

:04:51. > :05:01.So Syrian and Welsh people are standing here in solidarity

:05:02. > :05:04.to say, stop the massacres in Syria, stop the war, give some

:05:05. > :05:09.Doctor Ahsan will be handing over her equipment to doctors

:05:10. > :05:18.at the Syrian border and plans to be back on shift on Christmas Eve.
