0:00:34 > 0:00:38When they met on the stairs of the Senedd in July,

0:00:38 > 0:00:41the newly appointed Prime Minister was meeting the First Minister

0:00:41 > 0:00:44who is the longest serving leader of any part of the UK.

0:00:44 > 0:00:47They will need to work closely over how exactly the UK

0:00:47 > 0:00:49leaves the European Union.

0:00:49 > 0:00:53But speaking to the Sunday Politics Wales programme about his hopes

0:00:53 > 0:00:56on Brexit over the coming year, Carwyn Jones said he was worried

0:00:56 > 0:01:00about what he calls the naivete of some new UK Government ministers.

0:01:00 > 0:01:04There are some realists, but there are some who still say,

0:01:04 > 0:01:06oh, Europe will basically fall at our feet.

0:01:06 > 0:01:11They're not going to do that.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14You have to be realistic and understand this is a discussion

0:01:14 > 0:01:17between, not just two parties, but more than 30 different parties

0:01:17 > 0:01:18when you take into account the different parliaments

0:01:18 > 0:01:20in the EU as well.

0:01:20 > 0:01:22The UK has to relearn the art of diplomacy rather

0:01:22 > 0:01:25than shouting at foreigners, which is what the impression you get

0:01:25 > 0:01:26from some of the Tory politicians.

0:01:26 > 0:01:29A spokeswoman for the UK Government said it was determined to get

0:01:29 > 0:01:32the best possible deal for the UK as we leave the EU,

0:01:32 > 0:01:34and that it is approaching the negotiations in a spirit

0:01:34 > 0:01:37of goodwill whilst working closely with the Welsh government.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39The First Minister also said he will travel to Norway

0:01:39 > 0:01:41in the New Year to learn about their immigration system,

0:01:41 > 0:01:44where people can stay there for six months to find work.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47Carwyn Jones favours a system of only allowing people to come

0:01:47 > 0:01:49here if there is a job waiting for them.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Ukip wants a model where points are earned before visas are approved.

0:01:52 > 0:01:57I think that it has to be controlled and we have to know who is coming

0:01:57 > 0:02:03into the country and how many people are coming in and we have

0:02:03 > 0:02:05to look at our small country and we have to,

0:02:05 > 0:02:11you know, obviously we have to take a responsibility as well

0:02:11 > 0:02:15with people coming in.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Also today, Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns said Brexit could benefit

0:02:17 > 0:02:21deprived communities that have previously missed out on EU aid.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25Speaking on Sunday Supplement programme, the Vale of Glamorgan

0:02:25 > 0:02:27MP said leaving the EU was an opportunity to reshape how

0:02:27 > 0:02:33structural funds were spent.

0:02:33 > 0:02:38Parents at a school in Haverfordwest have been warned about a stranger

0:03:21 > 0:03:25The medical supplies have been put together by two doctors,

0:03:25 > 0:03:30one of them a BBC presenter and A registrar from Ysbyty

0:03:30 > 0:03:32Gwynedd, in Bangor.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34The hospital is going to be built in an area

0:03:34 > 0:03:37within the north of Aleppo.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40It's going to serve a population of 66,000 children and it's

0:03:40 > 0:03:43estimated that it will see, treat and look after

0:03:43 > 0:03:455000 children a month.

0:03:45 > 0:03:48The money came from crowdfunding.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51More than ?170,000 raised across Britain in two weeks.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54But Doctor Ahsan praised in particular colleagues in Bangor

0:03:54 > 0:03:57for their generosity.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00One of my colleagues, one of my senior nursing staff,

0:04:00 > 0:04:03gave me a bunch of money in cash and said, "Here, instead

0:04:03 > 0:04:06of Christmas, we would like to give you the money."

0:04:06 > 0:04:10Which was so incredible.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13Meanwhile in Cardiff today Syrians from the Syrian Welsh Society held

0:04:13 > 0:04:16a vigil in the city centre.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19Syrian and Welsh people are standing here in solidarity to say,

0:04:19 > 0:04:22stop the massacres in Syria, stop the war, give some

0:04:22 > 0:04:26hope to civilians.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29Doctor Ahsan will be handing over her equipment to doctors

0:04:29 > 0:04:32at the Syrian border and plans to be back

0:04:32 > 0:04:37on shift in Ysbyty Gwynedd, on Christmas Eve.
