0:00:24 > 0:00:25of Saturday morning.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28He's now being questioned on suspicion of murder.

0:00:37 > 0:00:42following reports that a man was unconscious outside

0:00:42 > 0:00:44the Peep nightclub close to the centre of Bangor.

0:00:44 > 0:00:51North Wales Police say he was injured following an assault and

0:00:51 > 0:00:53their officers, along with paramedics, carried out

0:00:53 > 0:00:55CPR before he was taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58He was later taken to hospital in Stoke, where he died.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00He was 27 and from Llangefni and has been described tonight

0:01:00 > 0:01:02as a young family man.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04The man originally arrested on suspicion of assault

0:01:04 > 0:01:07is now being held at Caernarfon police station

0:01:07 > 0:01:10after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12A major incident room has been set up

0:01:12 > 0:01:17and a team of detectives are working to establish exactly what happened.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27on Dean Street with photos, video or dash cam footage from

0:01:27 > 0:01:34between 1:30 and 2:15 on Saturday morning to contact them.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36Universities should pay the voluntary living wage

0:01:36 > 0:01:38as part of a "civic mission."

0:01:38 > 0:01:41That's according to the Education Secretary, Kirsty Williams,

0:01:41 > 0:01:47who's also calling for "much greater constraint" in setting

0:01:47 > 0:01:51the pay packets of universities' highest earners.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08The Living Wage Foundation thinks people should earn

0:02:08 > 0:02:11at least ?8.45 an hour to meet the cost of living,

0:02:11 > 0:02:15that is higher than the UK Government's national living

0:02:15 > 0:02:21wage which rose to ?7.50 this month for people aged 25 and over.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24I had two jobs before to make ends meet

0:02:24 > 0:02:29and it meant a lot of rushing around, you know,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32working till three o'clock, going home to pick my daughter up

0:02:32 > 0:02:34and then rush back to work, which was a nightmare.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36I didn't have much time for anything else.

0:02:36 > 0:02:40So when I came up here, it was great.

0:02:40 > 0:02:45Paying the living wage cost Cardiff University ?600,000 a year.

0:02:45 > 0:02:50The Welsh government headquarters is just over the road

0:02:50 > 0:02:53from Cardiff University, The only Welsh university

0:02:53 > 0:02:57that is an accredited living wage employer.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59Kirsty Williams says she wants the others to do the same

0:02:59 > 0:03:03and she is calling on them to make rapid progress.

0:03:03 > 0:03:06We need those universities to recognise the power

0:03:06 > 0:03:10that they have within our nation of Wales to do good.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12Yes, to educate people, but to use their powers and

0:03:12 > 0:03:16their resources, their facilities to contribute to the nation as a whole

0:03:16 > 0:03:19and paying the living wage to all staff is an important part

0:03:19 > 0:03:21of doing that.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25Mrs Williams also called for a much greater constraint in the salaries

0:03:25 > 0:03:27of senior staff.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29In 2015, the vice chancellors of all Welsh

0:03:29 > 0:03:35universities earned more than ?200,000, but senior salaries

0:03:35 > 0:03:40were said to be broadly comparable with universities across the UK.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42The umbrella group for higher education,

0:03:42 > 0:03:47Universities Wales, said many institutions already have pay rates

0:03:47 > 0:03:50that matched the voluntary living wage, even if they weren't

0:03:50 > 0:03:53accredited living wage employers.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Last week, threats to jobs emerged

0:03:55 > 0:03:58at University of Wales Trinity St David

0:03:58 > 0:04:02and at the University of South Wales, a sign that universities

0:04:02 > 0:04:05aren't feeling flush.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08The ban on smoking in enclosed public places in Wales,

0:04:08 > 0:04:10which was introduced ten years ago,

0:04:10 > 0:04:13has seen almost 100,000 fewer smokers here.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16That's according to figures released by the Welsh Government.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19It also shows that 19% of adults are smokers,

0:04:19 > 0:04:23compared to 24% in 2007.

0:04:23 > 0:04:28The one group which has seen a rise are the unemployed.
