:00:08. > :00:11.Some lovely sunshine at times this weekend, but I fear the weather

:00:11. > :00:15.will be making the headlines for less positive reasons, as we will

:00:15. > :00:20.see in a moment. Cloud is cascading in of the Atlantic, which will

:00:20. > :00:23.eventually bring a lot of rain to the north-west. Ahead of that, the

:00:23. > :00:27.skies have been clear for a time this evening. Temperatures have

:00:27. > :00:33.been falling away, and right now there are close to freezing in a

:00:33. > :00:40.few spots. But for the rest of the country, temperatures will rise as

:00:40. > :00:45.the cloud increases. In western parts of Scotland, some heavy rain.

:00:45. > :00:48.Further south, it stays dry, with clear skies, meaning a reasonable

:00:48. > :00:55.start to the day for much of southern England. Breezy, but

:00:55. > :01:01.nothing excessive across the south. A lot of cloud for Wales, north-

:01:01. > :01:06.west England. The Cumbrian fells are seeing some rain. There is an

:01:06. > :01:08.East-West split in Scotland. Heavy rain in western Scotland and

:01:08. > :01:14.dampness in Northern Ireland. It just keeps raining across a good

:01:14. > :01:18.part of western Scotland. That is of some concern, as there may be

:01:18. > :01:27.some flooding here. The East of Scotland is still relatively dry.

:01:27. > :01:32.Further south, and try again, with some sunshine. It is mild, but

:01:32. > :01:36.tempered by the strength of the wind. We are concerned about this.

:01:36. > :01:40.We have an amber warning in force. These winds could get very gusty

:01:40. > :01:48.and cause disruption not just over the high ground, but they will be

:01:48. > :01:54.dancing down of the Pennines, for example, into north-east England.

:01:54. > :01:58.The A1 could be badly affected, buffeted by serious crosswinds, so

:01:58. > :02:03.be aware of that if you are on the move. Many northern areas will have

:02:03. > :02:06.a very windy end to the day and very wet as well. Gradually, the

:02:06. > :02:12.worst of the rain will sink southeastwards and die away. The

:02:12. > :02:17.strong winds hang on on Sunday in the North-East. Sunday will be a

:02:17. > :02:22.sparkling day for many of us. Lots of sunshine, most places dry.
