:00:14. > :00:18.If you are hoping for something a bit drier and brighter and warmer,

:00:18. > :00:24.then next week's weather charts bring reason for optimism. Before

:00:24. > :00:28.then, however, we do have a transitional weekend to get through.

:00:28. > :00:32.These weather fronts continuing to bring rain across the central area

:00:32. > :00:37.of the country tonight. In the south, generally a dry night.

:00:37. > :00:41.Further north, dry and with clear skies across Scotland, turning

:00:41. > :00:45.quite cold. In rural areas we could see a touch of frost. A chilly

:00:45. > :00:49.start to the weekend but there will be sunny spells across a good part

:00:49. > :00:52.of Scotland. Grey across the far south of Scotland and much of

:00:52. > :00:56.Northern Ireland, still pretty dull with outbreaks of rain across

:00:56. > :01:01.northern England, another cold day on the North Sea coast. Dizzily in

:01:01. > :01:05.the Midlands and parts of North Wales. Brighter skies further south,

:01:05. > :01:08.temperatures creeping into the teens at 9am. It will be a bit

:01:08. > :01:13.chilly for the start of the Olympic torch relay, but I'm optimistic

:01:13. > :01:17.there will be some sunny spells. As the torch winds its way further

:01:17. > :01:21.eastwards, the cloud will develop and there is the likelihood of one

:01:21. > :01:25.Lord two showers across Devon and Cornwall during the afternoon. By

:01:25. > :01:29.the time we get to the evening, there is the possibility of a

:01:29. > :01:34.shower but I'm hoping it will be dry in Plymouth, temperatures

:01:34. > :01:38.around 11 or 12. Sunny spells through the day in the south-east

:01:38. > :01:43.corner and Scotland. The rain will peter out slowly across the central

:01:43. > :01:47.areas. But always staying Gray on the North Sea coasts, and with the

:01:47. > :01:52.wind coming in off the sea it is going to feel cold. In the south,

:01:52. > :01:56.however, with a bit of sunshine we could reach 18, 19 or close to 20

:01:56. > :02:00.Celsius to the west of London. A bright day at Lord's, chance of

:02:00. > :02:03.some sunny spells. They should be a full day's play but on Sunday I

:02:03. > :02:07.can't promise that as the breeze picks up and we could see outbreaks

:02:07. > :02:11.of rain. That is from this area of low pressure which is arching

:02:11. > :02:15.towards East Anglia and the south- east. A bit of a breeze with cloud

:02:15. > :02:19.and outbreaks of rain coming and going across many Central, eastern

:02:20. > :02:24.and southern counties of England. Elsewhere, it's looking fine and
