:00:16. > :00:20.More disruptive snow this evening, but it is turning back to rain. It

:00:20. > :00:23.is turning things I see because the rain is falling on frozen surfaces

:00:23. > :00:27.and your local radio station will have more detail on many roads

:00:27. > :00:31.affected. As if the snow and ice were not enough, severe gales are

:00:31. > :00:35.battering the north of Scotland, so potential damage and blowing the

:00:35. > :00:39.snow around, but to reiterate, very icy, and that is a big concern

:00:39. > :00:43.through the rest of the evening, as well as the fact we will have a lot

:00:43. > :00:47.of rain. It is already with us in western areas, on saturated ground,

:00:47. > :00:52.and with a rapid thaw in we could have localised flooding and there

:00:52. > :00:58.is a lot of surface water and spray. Chilly enough in eastern areas for

:00:58. > :01:01.place in the morning. Some fairly unpleasant conditions with the rain

:01:01. > :01:04.and hill fog across central and southern England, and the South,

:01:04. > :01:08.East Anglia and the Midlands. It looks pretty grim first thing in

:01:08. > :01:12.the morning will the rain around. Bear with me for the good news. It

:01:12. > :01:15.will be brightening up further north. It will be cold, and the

:01:15. > :01:20.risk of our case follows the night's rain across the East of

:01:20. > :01:23.Scotland -- the risk of ice. Some showers are coming back in on the

:01:23. > :01:26.north-west, but there will be sunshine between the showers in

:01:26. > :01:31.Northern Ireland, South West Scotland and into the West of

:01:31. > :01:35.England and Wales as well. One or two showers around across the

:01:35. > :01:38.south-west, but a much brighter start to the day and already

:01:38. > :01:42.temperatures at seven or eight degrees. By around lunchtime, the

:01:42. > :01:46.rain will be ushered into the North Sea, clearing Kent, Norfolk,

:01:46. > :01:50.Suffolk and the northern isles to reveal brighter skies than today.

:01:50. > :01:53.Some sunshine at long last. Showers in the north-west, and it will be

:01:53. > :01:58.quite wet, but look at the temperatures. Feeling much milder

:01:58. > :02:01.than today. It has been bitter in the east, and the reason for the

:02:01. > :02:08.change in fortune is the ridge of high pressure pushing the weather

:02:08. > :02:11.systems away. It looks to stay in to Friday. A chilly start, and

:02:12. > :02:14.potentially some fog, but it does look like a reasonably dry and

:02:15. > :02:18.bright day with a few showers in the north and west and will

:02:18. > :02:22.hopefully hold firm for most of the weekend. Many of us should have a
