:00:13. > :00:21.Good evening. Wow - what a day of contrasts across the country. It is

:00:21. > :00:25.the hottest August day since 2 003, with 34.2 Celsius across Heathrow.

:00:25. > :00:31.Across Lerwick 14 Celsius. The reason is this cloud over Scotland

:00:31. > :00:36.and Northern Ireland. It produced persistent rain. Further south

:00:36. > :00:39.hardly a cloud in the sky. The rain was fairly persistent across

:00:39. > :00:42.Northern Ireland and Scotland. You can see it is easing its way further

:00:42. > :00:46.north. It will park itself in the extreme north of Scotland through

:00:46. > :00:49.the night. The cloud will build. A few showers through central and

:00:49. > :00:53.southern areas and across west-facing coasts of England and

:00:53. > :00:57.Wales. Turning misty through the night too. I suspect the talking

:00:57. > :01:02.point tomorrow morning will be the feel of the night. It will be hu

:01:02. > :01:07.mid-. Those temperatures not falling far at all.

:01:07. > :01:12.It is difficult, I am afraid for sleeping in. We will start to see

:01:12. > :01:17.that heat easing from that south-east corner. Perhaps lingering

:01:17. > :01:21.across East Anglia and the extreme Kent coast tomorrow. Fresher air

:01:21. > :01:25.takes over and a different start to our day as well. More cloud around.

:01:25. > :01:32.Potential for showers to drift up through the Channel. Some thundery

:01:32. > :01:35.as well. That marks a contrast. Look at the temperatures. Some sunny

:01:35. > :01:39.spells. A relatively quiet day across Wales and the north of

:01:39. > :01:42.England. We will have a few showers T rem napts of yesterday's rain

:01:42. > :01:46.sitting to the far north of Scotland. Scotland and Northern

:01:46. > :01:50.Ireland, a better day for you, particularly in comparison to today.

:01:50. > :01:54.Yes, sunny spells and scattered showers. It will be pleasant. That

:01:54. > :01:59.will be the story really for the rest of the country. Sunny spells

:01:59. > :02:04.and scattered showers. Some into the south-west, and maybe into the

:02:04. > :02:12.south-escalator in the day. Pleasant enough for Scotland - 21-22

:02:12. > :02:16.For the start of the weekend, low pressure sits up into the far

:02:16. > :02:19.north-west of Scotland. Gales here are likely. Sunny spells and

:02:19. > :02:22.scattered showers are likely elsewhere.
