:00:07. > :00:12.Good evening. Now that the cold weather is here, there are signs we

:00:13. > :00:18.could see the conditions continue for at least a good week but to

:00:19. > :00:25.varying degrees. The clue is in the position and the pattern of the

:00:26. > :00:31.Jetstream at the moment. This means that weather trends will not change

:00:32. > :00:35.from day to day. We will see high pressure building tonight, and

:00:36. > :00:44.because we are on the eastern flank of that high pressure, it is feeding

:00:45. > :00:49.the cold air to all of us. Everyone will see a frost develop, just

:00:50. > :00:53.about. A covering of snow across north-western parts of Scotland, and

:00:54. > :00:59.across in Northern Ireland and north-west England, parts of Wales,

:01:00. > :01:06.over the hilly ground we could see a covering of snow in the morning.

:01:07. > :01:09.Despite the cold start, compared to the gloomy conditions most have

:01:10. > :01:15.experienced in the past few days, a lot more sunshine around. But the

:01:16. > :01:19.showers will keep going, still wintry across northern Scotland in

:01:20. > :01:29.the morning, and the risk of some sleet, snow and hail in western

:01:30. > :01:33.England. They could affect parts of eastern England as well, but for the

:01:34. > :01:42.most part of the afternoon it is dry and sunny, but much colder than we

:01:43. > :01:47.are used to. Further north we will see some hill snow quickly turning

:01:48. > :01:54.to rain through the evening and first part of the night on Tuesday,

:01:55. > :02:01.and rain will be the main feature is it pushes its ways southwards into

:02:02. > :02:06.Wednesday. There will be some squally winds, gales elsewhere, and

:02:07. > :02:12.cold air will surge its ways southwards behind the cold front.

:02:13. > :02:17.Later these showers turn wintry once again. This low pressure moves down

:02:18. > :02:23.through the North Sea, the wind switching to the north-east. The

:02:24. > :02:29.winds remain quite strong and chilly, so the showers could still

:02:30. > :02:30.be wintry in nature. Not really bringing a huge amount
