:00:00. > :00:00.of some showers and at Wilton cooler from the north. The national picture

:00:00. > :00:00.comes from Philip Avery. from the north. The national picture

:00:00. > :00:16.comes from Philip Avery. Unusually, I can say good morning.

:00:17. > :00:18.Wednesday has been noticeable for a number of reasons. From a

:00:19. > :00:24.meteorological point of view, it was the warmest day of the year for

:00:25. > :00:27.Wales and Northern Ireland. Nothing like it across the East of Scotland,

:00:28. > :00:31.where the temperature was locked firmly into the mid-teens thanks to

:00:32. > :00:36.the presence of the low cloud and fog. It is there again as it has

:00:37. > :00:40.been, making inroads through the Clyde Valley is, to the Tyne Valley

:00:41. > :00:47.and areas east of the Pennines. Another very close night, 17, 1 or

:00:48. > :00:51.19, something of that order. It will take some time on Thursday morning

:00:52. > :00:53.but we will see some of this low cloud creeping towards the eastern

:00:54. > :00:59.shores and into the north-east of England. Around the eastern shores

:01:00. > :01:03.of Scotland and the Northern Isles, it will stick. At the opposite end

:01:04. > :01:07.of the country, things may come together. Some moisture, breezes

:01:08. > :01:10.coming together and some heat, it could produce some violent and

:01:11. > :01:15.thundery showers. The risk of thunderstorms comes as far east as

:01:16. > :01:20.the Hampshire border. For many of you, look at it, the heat keeps

:01:21. > :01:24.pouring through. For some, it might be a fraction warmer than Wednesday.

:01:25. > :01:29.Stand fast, the eastern side of Scotland. As I say, open to the

:01:30. > :01:33.Northern Isles, it will be closer to the teams. You may start with a

:01:34. > :01:40.cooling dip, but after that it's pretty warm working Glasgow. The

:01:41. > :01:45.triathletes take centre stage. Coverage right across the BBC. After

:01:46. > :01:49.another close night, into Friday. Similar fare, variations on the

:01:50. > :01:53.theme. Showers again across southern counties. There will be there across

:01:54. > :01:57.western sides of Scotland as the heat, again, really takes centre

:01:58. > :02:00.stage. Come the weekend, something slightly different in the menu. We

:02:01. > :02:04.have this area of low pressure throwing this weather front down

:02:05. > :02:10.across the British Isles. Then, the efflux around, high pressure from

:02:11. > :02:17.the north and north-west. -- it flicks around. Another very warm day

:02:18. > :02:20.and a dry day as well. There is the weather front bringing the rain to

:02:21. > :02:23.the western and central parts of Scotland. It is tumbling on a

:02:24. > :02:26.diagonal from the West of Scotland to the south-east of England. A

:02:27. > :02:29.showery burst, more than anything else. Notice how
