:00:07. > :00:12.Good evening. Spare a thought for the forecasters who were trying to

:00:13. > :00:16.pin down those storms which brought so many problems to south-east

:00:17. > :00:21.England this morning. You can see the way this line developed, causing

:00:22. > :00:26.havoc from Brighton to the western fringes of London. That line is

:00:27. > :00:30.about about five to ten miles wide. Either side of it, really no problem

:00:31. > :00:34.at all. It is really difficult science trying to get that

:00:35. > :00:37.absolutely right. More straightforward through

:00:38. > :00:42.tonight. Yes, there is some rain around.

:00:43. > :00:47.One band ainto Northern Ireland -- one band into Northern Ireland.

:00:48. > :00:51.Outbreaks across south-eastern counties. They will tend to be

:00:52. > :00:56.mostly light and patchy. Nothing like we saw through the early part

:00:57. > :01:02.of today. Head further west and we have this

:01:03. > :01:04.area of clearer skies. Sunny to start the day across much of

:01:05. > :01:08.south-west England, through the Midlands, Wales and the north-east

:01:09. > :01:12.of England. For the north-west, particularly Cumbria, the cloud will

:01:13. > :01:15.thicken up. That's the story across Scotland as

:01:16. > :01:19.well. The rain starting to break up across Northern Ireland and

:01:20. > :01:23.north-west Scotland, turning more into showers, with brighter spells,

:01:24. > :01:27.hopefully between. That rain in the south-west will take a time to

:01:28. > :01:30.clear. This area of clearer skies will push southwards and eastwards,

:01:31. > :01:35.so the sun breaks through in southern areas. The cloud moves in

:01:36. > :01:40.across the north Midlands and Wales during the afternoon. The cloud and

:01:41. > :01:45.the breeze make for a cooler day for the athletes in Glasgow. 17 Celsius,

:01:46. > :01:50.the high. A largely dry story. Just the odd light shower going through

:01:51. > :01:55.on the breeze. 17-20 Celsius across the northern half. Warmer further

:01:56. > :01:59.south. We could hit 27 Celsius in the London area. Ahead of this

:02:00. > :02:04.weather front, once this pushes through, it introduces slightly

:02:05. > :02:08.cooler fresher air. Low pressure developing to the north. More

:02:09. > :02:12.isobars on the chart. A breezier day across the northern half of the UK

:02:13. > :02:18.on Wednesday. Temperatures close to the seasonal averagech perhaps

:02:19. > :02:22.slightly above -- average. Perhaps slightly above.

:02:23. > :02:27.All the signs are that low pressure will start to take over as we go

:02:28. > :02:29.into the second half of the week. High pressure and fine weather
