:00:00. > :00:00.and Thursday as well. A bit of rain around on Friday. And with lore on

:00:00. > :00:00.around on Friday. And with more on all of that, of course, here is

:00:00. > :00:00.Alex. Good evening. There's no sign of

:00:07. > :00:12.things warming up any time soon. It things warming up any time soon It

:00:13. > :00:17.will stay on the fresh side, despite there being some decent spells of

:00:18. > :00:22.August sunshine. A sprinkling of showers. Always on the cool day, by

:00:23. > :00:29.day and particularly by night. Why is it so chilly? We are stuck

:00:30. > :00:34.between an area of high and an area of high pressure over Scandinavia.

:00:35. > :00:38.The winds swirl around the low. We have northerly winds, bringing this

:00:39. > :00:42.chilly air and this cold pool is set to sit across the UK for the rest of

:00:43. > :00:45.this working week. With the winds coming from the north, it means

:00:46. > :00:49.northern Scotland will continue with showers. The showers are fading in

:00:50. > :00:53.the east. More heavy ones returning to the west for Northern Ireland

:00:54. > :00:56.later in the night for Wales and north-west England. Double figures

:00:57. > :01:01.just about in towns and cities across the south. In rural areas

:01:02. > :01:04.across northern Britain as low as three or four Celsius in the

:01:05. > :01:08.morning. Heavy showers over north-west England. Parts of Wales

:01:09. > :01:12.and the Midlands. As that area drifts south, it tends to break up.

:01:13. > :01:16.We are left with a scattering of showers for the afternoon. The winds

:01:17. > :01:19.come from the north though. Across northern Scotland, a mixture of sun

:01:20. > :01:24.and showers throughout the day. With shelter, not too many showers

:01:25. > :01:31.through the central belt. Southern Scotland dry and fine. One or two

:01:32. > :01:35.scattered showers to the east of the Pennines. Further south, yes some

:01:36. > :01:40.showers. There'll be some sunshine. Look at the temperatures. We may not

:01:41. > :01:44.reach 20 Celsius tomorrow for the first time since early June.

:01:45. > :01:49.Temperatures will drop tomorrow night. The showers will fade. The

:01:50. > :01:54.winds will die down. With lengthy clear spells, well we will see

:01:55. > :01:58.temperatures widely down to single figures. In the countryside, as we

:01:59. > :02:03.go into Wednesday, they will be down to three to five Celsius. Pretty

:02:04. > :02:08.chilly for the time of year. There'll be some sunshine though on

:02:09. > :02:10.Wednesday morning. And again, just a sprinkling of showers developing

:02:11. > :02:15.through the day. Many areas will stay dry and bright. Temperatures

:02:16. > :02:19.still struggling along in the teens. Persistent rain in the north-west

:02:20. > :02:24.later on. That is from another area of low pressure, which moves

:02:25. > :02:28.southwards. Where this weather front lies, it will pep up the showers a

:02:29. > :02:29.bit during Thursday and Friday. There
