:00:00. > :00:09.A very merry evening to you. I'm sure it is quite merry for some of
:00:10. > :00:13.us by now. First things first, let's see where Santa is. We've been
:00:14. > :00:18.tracking Santa with our weather radar. He's encountering a head wind
:00:19. > :00:23.here, south of the North Pole. I can confirm, he's on his way. Presents
:00:24. > :00:27.for some of us, I'm sure, on the way too. The weather is on the festive
:00:28. > :00:32.side across Scotland. We have snow showers. Even iciness on the roads.
:00:33. > :00:37.But for many of us, it's a clear night. Fair weather for Santa. We
:00:38. > :00:41.have rain nudging into the south-west of England by the time we
:00:42. > :00:45.get to early on Christmas Day morning. This weather system here is
:00:46. > :00:49.going to bring mild and wet conditions to the southern half of
:00:50. > :00:52.the UK. It's going to be a very mild Christmas Day. But not for
:00:53. > :00:56.everybody. Let's look at the morning, this is 10am, perhaps you
:00:57. > :01:01.might be going out for a stroll. It's not a pretty picture across the
:01:02. > :01:05.south-west of England. 13 degrees. It's raining, rain across central,
:01:06. > :01:09.southern England. At this stage, more crisp, across northern parts of
:01:10. > :01:12.the country. From the Midlands northwards and across Scotland a
:01:13. > :01:16.touch of frost with one or two flakes of snow. For some of us
:01:17. > :01:20.across the Highlands it is going to be just about a white Christmas.
:01:21. > :01:24.Through the course of Christmas Day, this band of wet weather's going to
:01:25. > :01:27.move further north. Eventually it will engulf Wales, moving into
:01:28. > :01:30.northern England and by the evening hours, it is going to reach southern
:01:31. > :01:33.parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Actually across the
:01:34. > :01:38.southern Uplands of Scotland over the hills we could see snow. Cold
:01:39. > :01:42.weather rain falls tomorrow afternoon. To the south it is a very
:01:43. > :01:47.mild Christmas, around 14 degrees Celsius. On a more serious note, we
:01:48. > :01:52.have an amber warning from the Met Office for heavy rain. It's
:01:53. > :01:55.approaching the UK during the course of Boxing Day, making a bee line for
:01:56. > :02:00.north-western parts of the British Isles. Certainly Cumbria. That's
:02:01. > :02:06.where the warning is in force. The rain could cause problems here.
:02:07. > :02:11.Impacts here from flooding. To the south, it's going to be dry and
:02:12. > :02:14.exceptionally mild, 15 degrees. Colder in Scotland, six or seven. By
:02:15. > :02:19.the time we get to Sunday, southerly winds push some of that mild air all
:02:20. > :02:22.the way further north. Temperatures rising across Scotland up to around
:02:23. > :02:28.about 10 degrees Celsius. That's about it. You're up to date with the
:02:29. > :02:30.weather. There's one more thing to say, I hope you have a
