:00:07. > :00:12.As we have seen today, the weather can be a thing of real beauty, but

:00:13. > :00:17.also a real menace. Lovely shot taken this afternoon in Berkshire,

:00:18. > :00:22.the sun lighting up the hillsides, with dense fog. And that fog is

:00:23. > :00:29.dangerous. It is becoming up right now, with warnings out from the Met

:00:30. > :00:33.Office. -- it is thickening right now. Not a pretty sight across

:00:34. > :00:40.England, East Wales tomorrow morning. Dense patches of freezing

:00:41. > :00:45.fog. Nor for all. Slippery surfaces. Take it easy on the roads. In the

:00:46. > :00:49.far north of England, and Scotland and Northern Ireland, not so chilly.

:00:50. > :00:53.And some drizzly rain across the Western Highlands and the islands.

:00:54. > :00:57.These continued through the day on a brisk wind. Elsewhere, the winds

:00:58. > :01:01.will be liked and that is the problem, because there was no wind

:01:02. > :01:04.to shift that fog. Where do you have got fog, it could stick around for

:01:05. > :01:14.much of that of. In some spots, it should not feel too bad. Chillier

:01:15. > :01:18.further south. As we have seen today, where that fog lingers, for

:01:19. > :01:22.example across central and eastern areas, we will struggle to get above

:01:23. > :01:27.freezing all day long. That fog will become widespread again tomorrow

:01:28. > :01:30.evening, particularly across southern and eastern areas. By

:01:31. > :01:36.Friday evening, it will lift up into the hills, so the lower levels will

:01:37. > :01:43.not be so foggy. The rain will turn more persistent in Scotland, but a

:01:44. > :01:46.mild wind. Temperatures will be in double figures across Scotland and

:01:47. > :01:51.Northern Ireland, very mild in some places. But still chilly in the

:01:52. > :01:54.south and east. By New Year's Eve, it will be milder for all of us, but

:01:55. > :01:58.the rain will turn heavier and more persistent across north-western

:01:59. > :02:01.areas and it will start to head southwards and eastwards. That rain

:02:02. > :02:08.will sweep down, followed yet again by colder weather for the new year.

:02:09. > :02:21.You must become the thing you fear the most.

:02:22. > :02:35.You're really rather beautiful, aren't you?

:02:36. > :02:39.We're going to have endless fun, Mr Holmes.
