:00:00. > :00:08.Good evening. It's been a dry and bright day across most parts of the

:00:09. > :00:13.country today. Despite the chilly feel to the weather, there has been

:00:14. > :00:22.some sunshine. Clear skies as the sun set in east Essex. With those

:00:23. > :00:24.clear skies around, temperatures are plummeting, particularly across

:00:25. > :00:28.southern parts. Here we see the coldest temperatures. We could see

:00:29. > :00:32.icy stretches on untreated surfaces, pavements and roads first thing

:00:33. > :00:36.Tuesday morning. Not quite as cold towards the North West. Cloud moving

:00:37. > :00:41.in here through the overnight period. Lows to minus six or minus

:00:42. > :00:45.seven degrees in one or two spots. A cold start to Tuesday. If you have

:00:46. > :00:49.the commute back to work, it is looking milder towards the North

:00:50. > :00:53.West. We have rain for northern and western Scotland. Quite windy here

:00:54. > :00:56.too. Perhaps a few splashes of rain across Northern Ireland and the

:00:57. > :01:00.North West of England. A lot of dry weather. Mainly to the east of the

:01:01. > :01:04.Pennines, clearer spells. A cold start here. Further south, across

:01:05. > :01:10.England and Wales, we will see the clear skies. A sharp frost first

:01:11. > :01:14.thing Tuesday morning. A sharp frost first thing, slippery conditions. We

:01:15. > :01:18.could see mist and freezing fog too. Through the course of the day, most

:01:19. > :01:21.places stay dry. The best of the sunshine will be for southern and

:01:22. > :01:26.Eastern parts of the country. Further North West we have more of

:01:27. > :01:29.the cloud piling in. So a bit milder under the cloud, eight or nine

:01:30. > :01:33.degrees or so. Slightly colder further south, but a bit more

:01:34. > :01:36.sunshine to compensate for it. High pressure is the main driving force

:01:37. > :01:39.of our weather, into the middle of the week. We will see the cold front

:01:40. > :01:42.working south as we head through into Wednesday. It's a fairly weak

:01:43. > :01:47.affair. Perhaps a little bit of light rain. Most places staying dry.

:01:48. > :01:52.It opens the doors to colder air again moving in from a northerly

:01:53. > :01:55.direction. That northerly airflow will affect Eastern England and

:01:56. > :02:00.Eastern Scotland too, feeling cool in that breeze. But dry and bright.

:02:01. > :02:04.Just a small chance a few scattered showers around the coast. Further

:02:05. > :02:09.west cloud thin and break later in the day. A good deal of dry weather.

:02:10. > :02:13.Again rather cool with temperatures between four to nine degrees. With

:02:14. > :02:17.high pressure holding on into Thursday, another cold but largely

:02:18. > :02:23.dry and bright day. It looks like we'll see more cloud, milder weather

:02:24. > :02:27.and frapz rain by the -- perhaps rain by Friday.
