:00:00. > :00:00.weekend as well. For more on that snow situation, over to Jay Wynne

:00:00. > :00:15.now. Quite a lot going on over the next

:00:16. > :00:20.few days. The strong north-westerly wind will drag some really cold

:00:21. > :00:23.Arctic air across our shores full stop that will be with us for the

:00:24. > :00:28.next few days. And there will be some wintry weather and it will be a

:00:29. > :00:31.cold end to the week. In the short-term, the strong winds pushing

:00:32. > :00:37.the rain away from Scotland. The winds really picking up in the north

:00:38. > :00:39.and west with frequent showers following into Scotland and Northern

:00:40. > :00:46.Ireland, some of them wintry over the higher ground. It will be

:00:47. > :00:51.particularly cold in the wind, which will be a key feature of things

:00:52. > :00:55.tomorrow. Travel disruption is certainly possible across the

:00:56. > :01:00.northern half of the UK, with winds up to 70mph, possibly even more in a

:01:01. > :01:03.few places. A few showers in Northern Ireland in the morning,

:01:04. > :01:08.with blustery conditions here as well as in northern England,

:01:09. > :01:14.especially east of the Pennines. A few breaks in the cloud. Blustery

:01:15. > :01:21.conditions will head to the chilly feel. The strongest winds around the

:01:22. > :01:27.coasts of the south and west. Most of the showers will be to the

:01:28. > :01:34.northern half of the UK. Temperatures really rising much

:01:35. > :01:38.during the day. Again, feeling cold in the wind, which continues to blow

:01:39. > :01:42.quite strong through Wednesday evening and into the small hours of

:01:43. > :01:47.Thursday. Snow getting down to some lower levels in Scotland. In the

:01:48. > :01:56.northern half of the UK, uh-oh on Thursday, we are likely to see some

:01:57. > :01:59.frost and icy patches. This system in the north of the UK could well

:02:00. > :02:07.bring some fairly significant snow to the northern half of Scotland,

:02:08. > :02:11.particularly over higher ground. There will be snow and rain showers

:02:12. > :02:15.in Northern Ireland and parts of northern England. Further south,

:02:16. > :02:18.some snow for a time across the south-west of England and the Brecon

:02:19. > :02:24.Beacons. Later on in the day, some of that snow could begin to settle

:02:25. > :02:26.over the Downs. It will be feeling cold, particularly in the wind.
