:00:08. > :00:15.Good evening. Not many would argue that January hasn't been dry, but

:00:16. > :00:19.today, many of us had our first significant rain for some time,

:00:20. > :00:22.because the transition is on from cold, Continental dry air to milder

:00:23. > :00:27.Atlantic air, but the transition is a slow one. So we have had ice

:00:28. > :00:31.today, and freezing fog, in northern England. We had a little sunshine as

:00:32. > :00:38.well in Norfolk, but we still have the cold air around and about in the

:00:39. > :00:41.north. All this rain you can see, which is giving is a wet day in some

:00:42. > :00:45.areas, 10-15 millimetres of rain has fallen, as it comes north there

:00:46. > :00:49.could be some winter it issues. Snow already falling over Scotland,

:00:50. > :00:54.possibly over northern England, possibly some sleet over lower areas

:00:55. > :00:58.and fog. Not particularly nice, and some icy conditions to contend with

:00:59. > :01:02.late in the night across Northern Ireland, as the rain clears away.

:01:03. > :01:07.Again, a word of warning there could be some ice around in the morning if

:01:08. > :01:10.you are heading out, in fact this evening and overnight. It's a great

:01:11. > :01:15.start to Saturday. Quite a lot of cloud and rain. Heavy for a time,

:01:16. > :01:19.still some winteriness in the north. A gradual brightening up from the

:01:20. > :01:22.West through the afternoon. Not without more showers, so it's more

:01:23. > :01:25.unsettled picture. Those showers could be heavy with hail and

:01:26. > :01:41.thunder. There could be good spells of sunshine in between. Not

:01:42. > :01:45.exactly one, 7-8. A gradual warming trend. Quite great and damp in

:01:46. > :01:47.eastern areas, the main rain clearing but drizzling is around.

:01:48. > :01:49.Winteriness in the hills. The rain hanging on in the north and wintry

:01:50. > :01:52.showers following on. Tomorrow night we could have some freezing fog, and

:01:53. > :01:54.ice on Sunday. That's the morning. The big question is the rainfall to

:01:55. > :01:59.the south. The computer models have been fairly consistent, indicating a

:02:00. > :02:05.mostly dry day for sunshine -- Friday for Scotland with ice and fog

:02:06. > :02:08.in the morning, Northern Ireland will the wet and windy weather, that

:02:09. > :02:12.rain will creak eastwards through the day. A lot of cloud arriving

:02:13. > :02:17.across many parts of England and Wales as we go through the day. Some

:02:18. > :02:22.heavy bursts and strong winds to go with it as well. Still a little

:02:23. > :02:28.uncertainty, do stay chewed to the forecast if you have plans. Come

:02:29. > :02:29.Monday, will the weather system moving away and then
