:00:00. > 3:59:59Into Friday, things get quieter with some sunshine around and light

:00:00. > :00:00.winds. For more some sunshine around and light

:00:00. > :00:00.winds. For more on Doris and its impact, here is the national

:00:00. > :00:12.weather. Good evening, a rough patch weather

:00:13. > :00:17.on the way. Time to fasten your seat belt. A high wind warning from the

:00:18. > :00:21.Met office, an amber one, so pretty severe. Let's see where Storm Doris

:00:22. > :00:25.is right now, only just developing to the west of the UK, in its early

:00:26. > :00:30.stages which is not good because it will be at its peak when it crosses

:00:31. > :00:35.the UK. You can see this hook of cloud which is where the twisting is

:00:36. > :00:38.starting to happen, which is where the big mid-latitude cyclone is

:00:39. > :00:41.starting to develop and it will slam into the centre of the UK during the

:00:42. > :00:45.morning and move across the country through the morning and into the

:00:46. > :00:49.afternoon. Two rounds from this storm, we will see some snow across

:00:50. > :00:52.southern and central parts of Scotland first tonight and into the

:00:53. > :00:57.early hours of Thursday morning. Let's look at the snow, also an

:00:58. > :01:00.amber warning from the Met office, the Southern uplands, the borders,

:01:01. > :01:04.including Edinburgh, there could be a fair bit of snow falling by early

:01:05. > :01:08.morning and we could see scenes like this across some parts of Scotland

:01:09. > :01:13.which will prove disruptive. And then come the winds. It is still

:01:14. > :01:16.developing at this stage, still developing, and then bang, it moves

:01:17. > :01:22.into north-western parts of the UK, a real hammering across

:01:23. > :01:24.north-western parts of Wales, into Liverpool Bay, Liverpool itself,

:01:25. > :01:27.Manchester, and this orange area, the amber warning from the Met

:01:28. > :01:32.office is where the worst of the wind will be with gusts of up to 80

:01:33. > :01:36.mph possible, and windy to the north and south of it. These kind of

:01:37. > :01:39.values, we get that every winter but usually to the North West of

:01:40. > :01:43.Scotland, on the coast and they don't often go inland and when they

:01:44. > :01:48.do go inland, they often cause problems like this. Take it steady

:01:49. > :01:52.and take care tomorrow. The good news is, the worst of the wind

:01:53. > :01:56.probably won't last for very long, a few hours and by the time we get to

:01:57. > :02:00.Thursday afternoon, it is Lincolnshire, East Anglia, still a

:02:01. > :02:03.good bloke further south and then by the time we get to about midnight,

:02:04. > :02:10.and into Friday, the winds are finally starting to die down. Much

:02:11. > :02:13.calmer on Friday with just a bit of breeze out of the south-west. Some

:02:14. > :02:17.rain getting to Scotland and Northern Ireland. Not too early to

:02:18. > :02:22.mention the weekend. It is looking pretty mixed. Some rain, a bit of

:02:23. > :02:27.sunshine at times as well. Once again, Storm Doris tomorrow and even

:02:28. > :02:28.if the sun comes out briefly, whatever you
