:00:00. > :00:00.with Thomas Shelter. be much milder. I will leave you

:00:00. > :00:13.with Thomas Shelter. Good evening. It was quite a day for

:00:14. > :00:18.some of us. We get these sort of storms every couple of years also.

:00:19. > :00:24.Difficult to give an exact number, but it was certainly a nasty one.

:00:25. > :00:29.It's now moving into Holland, Germany, south of Denmark, and it

:00:30. > :00:33.continues to blow itself out. The winds around coasts were not

:00:34. > :00:39.particularly spectacular, but the inland winds were unusual, 62 mph in

:00:40. > :00:45.London. A trail of damage across the UK with trees falling down, mainly

:00:46. > :00:48.trees, but also other spectacular pictures, frightening but

:00:49. > :00:53.spectacular. That East Sussex with crashing waves. And another amazing

:00:54. > :00:56.picture from Durham, with the north-east feeling the effects. In

:00:57. > :01:01.some picture postcard scenes in Scotland. There were two elements to

:01:02. > :01:07.this storm, snow in the north and also the winds. Let's see what we've

:01:08. > :01:13.got tonight. Some icy patches developing in areas. These guys have

:01:14. > :01:17.played and the wind has died down and temperatures will dip away to

:01:18. > :01:23.freezing across parts of Scotland. -- the skies have cleared. A nice

:01:24. > :01:28.start, quite crisp in some areas, and the wind is light, the sun is

:01:29. > :01:33.out, so overall a beautiful start to the day for most of us. It will be

:01:34. > :01:36.colder in northern areas, northern England, Scotland and Northern

:01:37. > :01:39.Ireland, with some frost and one or two wintry showers. On balance,

:01:40. > :01:48.we'll take anything after that stormy day. And then Friday itself,

:01:49. > :01:52.I think, it's looking a bit jerky, but he is a look at Friday

:01:53. > :01:57.afternoon. The rain is getting into western parts of the UK, so perhaps

:01:58. > :02:01.going downhill, but for most of us the weather is going to stay dry. On

:02:02. > :02:07.Saturday, quite a few isobars around. It's not completely calming

:02:08. > :02:12.down in the wake of Storm Doris. We will see spells of rain and wind,

:02:13. > :02:17.but this time on Saturday it will just be regular winds around the

:02:18. > :02:22.coasts and rain. At the rain will be heavy, and quite a lot to come this

:02:23. > :02:25.weekend across some of these particularly Northwestern and

:02:26. > :02:27.western areas, especially the north-west, western Scotland. The

:02:28. > :02:37.further east and south you So, like, you get sponsored to swap

:02:38. > :02:40.clothes with somebody for a day. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

:02:41. > :02:42.OK, I don't get that. So, maybe... I don't get that.

:02:43. > :02:46...you wear your mother's clothes? I don't get it. What does she wear?

:02:47. > :02:50.No, no, she wears someone else's.
