:00:00. > :00:00.gradually improve through Friday and the weekend isn't looking bad.

:00:00. > :00:13.Heavy rain, snow and ice are all in the forecast once again. It was

:00:14. > :00:17.quite a wintry scene today, especially in Scotland. Some very

:00:18. > :00:21.cold looking winter skies here, and we had some snow falling at times in

:00:22. > :00:24.West Lothian. For a while earlier today, there were quite a few

:00:25. > :00:29.showers running through central Scotland, all in that cold air.

:00:30. > :00:35.Right now, we have two areas of cloud, one in northern Scotland and

:00:36. > :00:39.this deepening area bringing heavy rain into south-west England and

:00:40. > :00:44.Wales overnight, with snow over the hills. That wetter weather will move

:00:45. > :00:49.into the cold, icy weather in Scotland, so we could see snow over

:00:50. > :00:54.the hills in Scotland. Eastern parts of England will be dry, clear and

:00:55. > :00:58.chilly. The lowest temperatures will become Scotland, especially where we

:00:59. > :01:04.have that covering of snow. Quite icy conditions overnight and into

:01:05. > :01:08.the morning. Further south, if we get some snow moving into southern

:01:09. > :01:15.Scotland, there is more snow to come over the northern Pennines and into

:01:16. > :01:21.the Cumbrian fen -- files. We could still have heavy rain across parts

:01:22. > :01:24.of Wales. Driving towards the M4 and M5 and the West Country, some of the

:01:25. > :01:28.parts of eastern England are still dry. There is a keen wind picking up

:01:29. > :01:33.ahead of that wet weather. We are going to find the snow across the

:01:34. > :01:37.far north of England and southern Scotland petering out, but we have

:01:38. > :01:40.this heavy rain which is slowly pivoting northwards and eastwards

:01:41. > :01:44.across the UK. If you are stuck under that, it will not be a nice

:01:45. > :01:48.day. We should get some sunshine eventually across southern England

:01:49. > :01:53.and Wales, but that could introduce some heavy showers. Cold, but

:01:54. > :01:59.generally I for central and northern Scotland. More rain to come on

:02:00. > :02:02.Thursday. By this stage, it is not really rain. Strong winds will push

:02:03. > :02:05.that wetter weather towards Wales and the south-west. It will

:02:06. > :02:09.eventually introduce some sunshine, but it will feel cold for England

:02:10. > :02:14.and Wales in the wind. Less windy, but quite sunny for Scotland and

:02:15. > :02:17.Northern Ireland. Here, we are under this much promised area of high

:02:18. > :02:24.pressure, and that will build down across the UK. Improvements will be

:02:25. > :02:28.a bit slow. There will still be a keen wind into the weekend. But with

:02:29. > :02:29.light winds and clear skies, we can expect some cold
