:00:00. > :00:00.off one or two sharp showers. Saturday starts on a damp note, but

:00:00. > :00:00.the weekend is not bad. Saturday starts on a damp note, but

:00:00. > :00:12.the weekend is not bad. It looks like summer has disappeared

:00:13. > :00:17.for the time being. Already, some parts of the country have had a

:00:18. > :00:19.month's worth of rain this week. Today, the wettest weather was

:00:20. > :00:26.further north across in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. About an

:00:27. > :00:29.inch of rain in some places. This picture was taken by a weather

:00:30. > :00:34.watcher at Headingley in Leeds. Where would you rather be, in the

:00:35. > :00:37.cloud and rain or in the sunshine? There was some sunshine today in the

:00:38. > :00:43.north-west of Scotland, the Isle of Skye. But the rain is moving

:00:44. > :00:48.northwards. There is the rain over the last few hours. It was a much

:00:49. > :00:51.drier day than yesterday across East Anglia and the south-east. We still

:00:52. > :00:56.have an area of rain plaguing the south-west and patchy rain for Wales

:00:57. > :01:00.and Northern Ireland. But the heavy rain is pushing towards Scotland.

:01:01. > :01:03.Still dry in the north-west of Scotland and largely dry from

:01:04. > :01:07.Northern Ireland. We had disappointing temperatures today,

:01:08. > :01:12.and temperatures will not format overnight because of the cloud. In

:01:13. > :01:15.rush we still have rain in Devon and Cornwall. But for much of the

:01:16. > :01:19.Midlands, East Anglia and the south-east, the day starts dry. We

:01:20. > :01:26.have patchy rain for Wales and Northern Ireland. It will be pretty

:01:27. > :01:29.wet in the morning across north-east England and south-east Scotland.

:01:30. > :01:34.Rain begins to arrive in eastern parts of Northern Ireland and pushed

:01:35. > :01:38.further north into Scotland. So a change of fortunes for Thursday. It

:01:39. > :01:43.will turn wet and windy across most of Scotland, rain pushing further

:01:44. > :01:46.into Northern Ireland. We still have patchy, like rain from northern

:01:47. > :01:50.England and a few showers further south and probably a lot of clout.

:01:51. > :01:55.But if the sun comes out in the south-east, it will warm up and

:01:56. > :01:58.could give us some heavy showers. A miserable day under the cloud, wind

:01:59. > :02:04.and rain from many northern parts of the UK. On Friday, still quite windy

:02:05. > :02:11.from northern and western areas. It is turning lighter for a while.

:02:12. > :02:16.Ahead of that, we may get sunshine in the south-east. Quite warm here,

:02:17. > :02:21.but that could be heavy showers. The weather front takes the rain

:02:22. > :02:24.southeastwards on Friday. Then our weather this weekend spills in from

:02:25. > :02:29.the Atlantic, the weather fronts much weaker than we have seen

:02:30. > :02:30.recently. So the prospects look better for this weekend.
