:00:00. > :00:00.week, some sunshine, maybe the odd shower, but high pressure building

:00:00. > :00:00.in for shower, but high pressure building

:00:00. > :00:08.in for the weekend. Darren Bett has the national forecast.

:00:09. > :00:15.Today the heat was focused on the south-east of England, tomorrow this

:00:16. > :00:19.will be the focus of some rain. This was today in Kent, where we actually

:00:20. > :00:25.saw the highest temperatures, not far away from Maidstone, 29 degrees.

:00:26. > :00:30.We had 26 up in Chelmsford. Tomorrow we're going to struggle to make 15

:00:31. > :00:39.or 16 degrees, a significant change from the last couple of days. It is

:00:40. > :00:43.a two pronged rain attack, cloud from the near continent producing

:00:44. > :00:46.showers, this will thicken up, rain developing in the south-west

:00:47. > :00:50.approach is heading towards Wales, the Midlands and eventually the

:00:51. > :00:53.south-west of England. At the same time, the showers in the channel

:00:54. > :00:57.will develop more widely in the south-east. Further north, clear

:00:58. > :01:02.skies, chilly overnight tonight, but for much of England and Wales, much

:01:03. > :01:05.milder. Temperatures will not rise very much at all tomorrow, starting

:01:06. > :01:10.with wet weather across the south-west of England, rain in

:01:11. > :01:13.Wales, South and south-east looks more likely, wet weather across the

:01:14. > :01:17.Midlands, heavy bursts for East Anglia and the south-east of

:01:18. > :01:24.England. Try and brighter across North Wales and northern England,

:01:25. > :01:26.but a shield of cloud here. Sunshine for Northern Ireland and northern

:01:27. > :01:31.Scotland, showers in the north-west. Not as windy in Scotland as it was

:01:32. > :01:34.today, but further showers developing in the afternoon across

:01:35. > :01:38.Northern Ireland. By then, the rain should have cleared from Wales,

:01:39. > :01:42.leaving one or two showers. Slow improvements for the south of

:01:43. > :01:48.England, rain continues in the south-east, perhaps Lincolnshire and

:01:49. > :01:51.the East Midlands too. 16-17 degrees is typical, may struggle to reach

:01:52. > :01:55.that in the south-east, where it will be a miserable day. Wetter

:01:56. > :01:59.weather around this area of low pressure will tend to sneak away

:02:00. > :02:02.overnight, pushing up towards Scandinavia, so the wetter weather

:02:03. > :02:07.should have cleared away by Thursday morning, out into the North Sea. It

:02:08. > :02:10.will leave behind some brighter skies, sunshine, a scattering of

:02:11. > :02:15.showers, mainly out towards the West, quite slow-moving, hit and

:02:16. > :02:20.miss but rather heavy. At this stage, it looks like it will be try

:02:21. > :02:23.and warmer towards the south-east. By Friday, those showers will

:02:24. > :02:29.migrate towards south-eastern parts of the UK, as the north-west becomes

:02:30. > :02:31.dry, thanks to an area of high pressure building across the UK on
