0:00:00 > 0:00:01Bett for the outlook over the coming days.

0:00:07 > 0:00:12Hello. Much colder weather on the way for all of us, but today was a

0:00:12 > 0:00:12very mild

0:00:12 > 0:00:15very mild day for much of England and Wales, temperatures as high as

0:00:15 > 0:00:1915 degrees in quite a few places, helped by southerly winds and hear

0:00:19 > 0:00:24some sunshine, but very different water further north in Cumbria,

0:00:24 > 0:00:27Ambleside. This is floodwater as a result of something like 100

0:00:27 > 0:00:31millimetres of rain falling over the high ground. You can see how big

0:00:31 > 0:00:34rain was focused on north-west England and North west Wales where

0:00:34 > 0:00:38it has been very wet. Further south in the ring is gathering, it's quite

0:00:38 > 0:00:43lumpy and accompanied by one or two rumbles of thunder across southern

0:00:43 > 0:00:46England and squally winds, sweeping eastwards overnight. Eventually it

0:00:46 > 0:00:51becomes a bit quieter in Wales and the south-west, the rain clearing

0:00:51 > 0:00:56away from Northern End then. The wind is highlight further north and

0:00:56 > 0:01:00we have cold air. It's not just rain but we will find snow developing as

0:01:00 > 0:01:03well, mainly across northern Scotland, nothing unusual about that

0:01:03 > 0:01:07particularly at this time of year. Could be some travel disruption,

0:01:07 > 0:01:11even snow at lower levels, some heavier falls, ten centimetres plus

0:01:11 > 0:01:16over Highlands and Grampian, but it looks like the snow should be north

0:01:16 > 0:01:18of the central lowlands. Maybe some winteriness in the frequent showers

0:01:18 > 0:01:22coming in over the hills across Northern Ireland, some wet weather

0:01:22 > 0:01:26sweeping back over the Irish Sea towards western England. Still gusty

0:01:26 > 0:01:29winds first thing across the extreme south-east of England and East

0:01:29 > 0:01:32Anglia, and the wind turns more westerly, the cloud breaks up and

0:01:32 > 0:01:35there will be sunshine across the southern half of the UK, not too

0:01:35 > 0:01:39many showers and not as windy as today. Further north we will have

0:01:39 > 0:01:43stronger winds developing, and somewhat weather followed by lots of

0:01:43 > 0:01:47showers and some sunshine, perhaps some winteriness in the showers,

0:01:47 > 0:01:55Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England, mainly will feel

0:01:55 > 0:01:57cold here, temperatures further south will be lower than today,

0:01:57 > 0:02:00still scraping double figures. But as the wind drops overnight it will

0:02:00 > 0:02:03turn cold in the countryside, North Wales north-eastwards, there may be

0:02:03 > 0:02:08a touch of frost. Not as windy again on Friday, light winds for many

0:02:08 > 0:02:10except northern Scotland, more wintry showers for Scotland,

0:02:10 > 0:02:14Northern Ireland, perhaps the north-west of England, more likely

0:02:14 > 0:02:17to get rain showers further south, there will be a few of those and a

0:02:17 > 0:02:21bit more cloud, so temperatures will be lower, eight or 9 degrees, only

0:02:21 > 0:02:26four or five for Glasgow and for Newcastle. Into the weekend, we keep

0:02:26 > 0:02:29this north to north-westerly wind going, it will be
