0:00:01 > 0:00:03process, more so we realise it by Sunday, but it comes with lots of

0:00:03 > 0:00:04cloud. What's happening across the rest

0:00:04 > 0:00:10cloud. What's happening across the rest of the UK? Here's Phil Avery.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13Meteorologists start their winter on the 1st of December, a shame nobody

0:00:13 > 0:00:17told the weather because it is ahead of the game. As you will have

0:00:17 > 0:00:20experienced across many eastern parts over the past few days, snow

0:00:20 > 0:00:27to very low levels, as you see here. The other face of winter out West

0:00:27 > 0:00:32are just a frosty start of the day, but gloriously sunny days. We have

0:00:32 > 0:00:36the west and east demarcation. We've had it over the past few hours. That

0:00:36 > 0:00:40was the rain and snow radar. This is what we expect to come into the

0:00:40 > 0:00:43small hours of Friday. Still quite a peppering of showers across many

0:00:43 > 0:00:47eastern parts. Further west, the skies stay clear and as a

0:00:47 > 0:00:50consequence away from the towns and cities there will be pockets of

0:00:50 > 0:00:55frost to start the new day. But it's towards the east that will have the

0:00:55 > 0:01:00greatest concerns in the first part of Friday. Where you have had the

0:01:00 > 0:01:03showers overnight and the temperatures have dipped away, ice

0:01:03 > 0:01:07on untreated surfaces could be a real issue. It won't take very long

0:01:07 > 0:01:11into the day before that becomes less of an issue in that neck of the

0:01:11 > 0:01:14woods and we see the first signs of a change across the north-western

0:01:14 > 0:01:18quarter of Scotland. Away from that neck of the woods, widely across

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Scotland, the eastern side of Northern Ireland, Central and

0:01:21 > 0:01:24western parts of England and Wales, it will be that bright, crisp,

0:01:24 > 0:01:28frosty sort of start of the day. Further east, you will still have a

0:01:28 > 0:01:32supply of showers. The thing you will notice is I'm showing you may

0:01:32 > 0:01:36be a degree or two higher on the temperatures than was the case this

0:01:36 > 0:01:38morning and that will be important, because it converts many more of

0:01:38 > 0:01:44those showers into something wintry, as in the case of the last couple of

0:01:44 > 0:01:47days, to something more watery. There will be not as many in the

0:01:47 > 0:01:51afternoon. Always the best of the sunshine further towards the West.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54Further north, the crowd filling in all the while temperatures beginning

0:01:54 > 0:01:58to prop up by a degree or two, but there will be arraigned -- there

0:01:58 > 0:02:04will be rain in the mix. We continue the process of bringing relatively

0:02:04 > 0:02:07mild air in from the Atlantic, rather than the screaming northerly

0:02:07 > 0:02:10that some of you have enjoyed over the past couple of days, and that

0:02:10 > 0:02:14gives the possibility of the cold air to be nudged aside into the

0:02:14 > 0:02:20continent and here comes that flow of milder air during the course of

0:02:20 > 0:02:24the weekend. So no crisp start for Saturday. We suspect a lot of cloud

0:02:24 > 0:02:28around, bits and pieces of rain, but those temperatures beginning to

0:02:28 > 0:02:28ratchet up by
