0:00:01 > 0:00:04heavy rain on Monday. A lot to play for.

0:00:08 > 0:00:14Good evening. Howling gales in the north of the UK today n Shetland, 93

0:00:14 > 0:00:19miles per hour. But we get winds like that across northern parts of

0:00:19 > 0:00:23the UK so tough in the north. Other parts of the country are in for some

0:00:23 > 0:00:28snow now over the next few days. Certainly tonight and into tomorrow,

0:00:28 > 0:00:32this is Storm Caroline barrelling out into the Norwegian sea and

0:00:32 > 0:00:35behind it on the back side of the storm we have winds out of the

0:00:35 > 0:00:39north. This is currently the radar showing the snow showers. You can

0:00:39 > 0:00:42see in the north of Scotland, Northern Ireland and also getting

0:00:42 > 0:00:45into the north-west of England and one or two in northern wae.s the

0:00:45 > 0:00:50problem will be the snow and also the ice. -- northern Wales. That's

0:00:50 > 0:00:53through the course of the night and into tomorrow. Some of us may have

0:00:53 > 0:00:57trouble. Stay tuned to the weather forecast. We could see significant

0:00:57 > 0:01:00snow across the hills and Scotland, Northern Ireland. Generally many

0:01:00 > 0:01:04western areas and across the hills it could be very, very trickin deed,

0:01:04 > 0:01:08even blizzards blowing with strong winds. It'll still be a very windy

0:01:08 > 0:01:12day on Friday across the north of the country. Let's start in the

0:01:12 > 0:01:16north, where the snow showers are. Remember these are snow showers, so

0:01:16 > 0:01:21hit and miss. One snow shower might be 20 miles across, carried by the

0:01:21 > 0:01:26wind. So for a short time it could be heavy, then sunshine comes out.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30If you get a snow shower after snow shower after snow shower, following

0:01:30 > 0:01:34in the same place by the end of the day in that same place you could see

0:01:34 > 0:01:38a bit of snow t could be quite deep but for many of us, we'll not see an

0:01:38 > 0:01:41awful lot of snow. Southern and eastern areas will not get snow at

0:01:41 > 0:01:45all. It'll be cold and sunny. At most, how much snow might we get

0:01:45 > 0:01:51from the snow showers? Maybe five or Sentamu metres across Wales, parts

0:01:51 > 0:01:57of the Midlands, up to 20 across parts of Scotland. One degree on the

0:01:57 > 0:01:59thermometer in Newcastle with the strong wind blowing out of the

0:01:59 > 0:02:05north, north-west. It'll feel line minus-5. A chilly start on Saturday

0:02:05 > 0:02:10with ice a problem in some areas. Look at the temperatures, they are

0:02:10 > 0:02:13around one degree in Newcastle, touching five in the south. Those

0:02:13 > 0:02:18snow showers will be less frequent. Now, Sunday, still cold air on top

0:02:18 > 0:02:21of the UK, in the Midlands around zeer yoe. A weather front coming

0:02:21 > 0:02:26through. Look at the temperature contrast. This is where we are

0:02:26 > 0:02:29looking at potentially disruptive snow, how much, could
