0:00:02 > 0:00:04towards the weekend with a return to overnight frosts. I will leave you

0:00:04 > 0:00:08now with the national forecast. Hello. Good evening. As we speak,

0:00:08 > 0:00:13some of you are seeing rain rather than snow. The headline maker

0:00:13 > 0:00:20earlier in the day was just how cold it was. It was a bone-chillingly

0:00:20 > 0:00:25cold start. Now things have changed and much of what you see here is

0:00:25 > 0:00:30rain rather than snow. The snow confined to the highest ground. We

0:00:30 > 0:00:35are not quite done with our winter's tale yet. As this weather moves to

0:00:35 > 0:00:40the North Sea, behind it the temperatures will dip away markedly

0:00:40 > 0:00:46again. That's why The Met Office have a widespread and wide-reaching

0:00:46 > 0:00:51yellow warning for ice. Not going to be too clever about it, but anywhere

0:00:51 > 0:00:55north of the M4, with the exception of the west of Scotland and Northern

0:00:55 > 0:00:59Ireland, will have that risk of ice even up to the north eastern quarter

0:00:59 > 0:01:02of Scotland where that temperature regime. Not a problem further west.

0:01:02 > 0:01:07One of those starts to the day I am afraid. Wet and windy, hill snow

0:01:07 > 0:01:10around again. Similar prospects to Northern Ireland and widely across

0:01:10 > 0:01:15the western side of England and into Wales. A damp start to the day. Some

0:01:15 > 0:01:19of that rain falling into this regime, two degrees only, that's why

0:01:19 > 0:01:24we have the concerns about the ice. You are not out of the woods further

0:01:24 > 0:01:30east. The ground will already be wet there and it gets wetter as this

0:01:30 > 0:01:34band of weather moves further towards the east. Some gusty winds

0:01:34 > 0:01:38around those showers as well. Then things turn brighter later in the

0:01:38 > 0:01:41afternoon for some, particularly northern and western parts. It's

0:01:41 > 0:01:46going to be a milder feeling day for many than was the case today.

0:01:46 > 0:01:51Through the rush hour, just notice what happens. Other belts of weather

0:01:51 > 0:01:55move from west to east. There could be some disruptive lying snow here

0:01:55 > 0:01:58in time for the rush hour on Wednesday evening. Then look at

0:01:58 > 0:02:02this, Thursday morning what's going on here? Northern Ireland, up into

0:02:02 > 0:02:06Scotland. Northern parts of England. More significant snow for perhaps to

0:02:06 > 0:02:13low levels on a blustery sort of day and no longer the eight, nine ten,

0:02:13 > 0:02:18we are already much cooler at this point. From there on, it gets cooler

0:02:18 > 0:02:24too. We bend those isobars around so the breezes run from north to west

0:02:24 > 0:02:28across the British Isles on Friday. That opens the door
