0:00:00 > 0:00:01Sunday which is Christmas Eve and Monday which is Christmas day,

0:00:05 > 0:00:07staying on the mild side. From all of the London team I wish you a

0:00:07 > 0:00:10happy Christmas and here is Darren Bett with the national weather.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13After Christmas it looks like the weather pattern will change but up

0:00:13 > 0:00:16until then for people travelling to many problems on the way, not really

0:00:16 > 0:00:19any cold air, a lot of cloud once again, the wind picking up in the

0:00:19 > 0:00:24next few days and we will see a bit more rain coming into northern areas

0:00:24 > 0:00:29too. The rain comes on the weather front, yet to really arrive in

0:00:29 > 0:00:31Scotland and Northern Ireland, high-pressure dominating for most of

0:00:31 > 0:00:33us, around the top of the area of low pressure we are drawing in

0:00:33 > 0:00:39Atlantic winds which still come with lots of cloud. It is quite low

0:00:39 > 0:00:42cloud, misty with hill fog around too although the winds will pick up

0:00:42 > 0:00:46across the northern half of the UK with rain coming into the far north

0:00:46 > 0:00:49of Scotland. Chilly for eastern Scotland with the cloud then but

0:00:49 > 0:00:53otherwise a very mild night and temperatures eight or 9 degrees.

0:00:53 > 0:00:57Saturday starts cloudy for many of us it may stay that way as well. We

0:00:57 > 0:01:01could see sunshine here and there, particularly in northern areas with

0:01:01 > 0:01:04stronger winds breaking of the cloud ahead of the rain that's moving

0:01:04 > 0:01:08southwards. Across southern areas of the UK the winds will be lighter, we

0:01:08 > 0:01:13still have this misty dank weather over the hills in the west. May be

0:01:13 > 0:01:17some brightness, sunshine across the Midlands, East Wales, more likely in

0:01:17 > 0:01:22the north-east of England. Gusty winds here. Some sunshine in

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Northern Ireland, Southern and particularly eastern Scotland ahead

0:01:24 > 0:01:27of the rain moving southwards with heavy rain in the north west of

0:01:27 > 0:01:32Scotland during the afternoon. In the evening the band of rain

0:01:32 > 0:01:35continues moving south, perhaps into Cumbria, Northern Ireland, and then

0:01:35 > 0:01:39having moved south it moves northwards again into much of

0:01:39 > 0:01:44Scotland. Elsewhere, generally dry, cloudy and mild overnight, lows of

0:01:44 > 0:01:47nine or 10 degrees. As we head into Christmas Eve it is a familiar,

0:01:47 > 0:01:52cloudy, mild and probably windier story for England and Wales. The

0:01:52 > 0:01:55winds are easing as the rain moves southwards from Scotland into

0:01:55 > 0:01:59Northern Ireland, is an wet weather in the west of Scotland and Cumbria

0:01:59 > 0:02:04it made writing in the touch behind that rain in the north of Scotland,

0:02:04 > 0:02:08otherwise mild and cloudy. What about Christmas day? We have

0:02:08 > 0:02:12stronger winds for England and Wales, mild winds, ahead of the rain

0:02:12 > 0:02:15which is starting to move its way more south-eastwards, allowing some

0:02:15 > 0:02:19slightly chilly air for Scotland and Northern Ireland, perhaps a bit of

0:02:19 > 0:02:23snow over the Scottish mountains. But it's not really back cold the

0:02:23 > 0:02:27air behind the weather front taking rain eastwards overnight. For money

0:02:27 > 0:02:28on Boxing Day will be a
