0:00:00 > 0:00:10I'll now hand you over to Susan Powell for the national forecast.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14Good evening. The weather is set to serve up some stormy times in the

0:00:14 > 0:00:21week ahead. Windy through much of the week, sometimes even up to gale

0:00:21 > 0:00:24force or a severe gale force before the week is out. And some rather

0:00:24 > 0:00:28heavy rain. Having said that it is fairly quiet outside this evening.

0:00:28 > 0:00:32The showers will be easing over the coming hours and we could see a

0:00:32 > 0:00:37frost developing with clear skies by the end of the night, so bear that

0:00:37 > 0:00:42in mind if you're heading off to work early tomorrow. But fine and

0:00:42 > 0:00:45chilly weather is short lived, because already coming in from the

0:00:45 > 0:00:49west by the rush-hour will be the next weather system, lifting the

0:00:49 > 0:00:53temperatures across Northern Ireland and bringing in some wet and windy

0:00:53 > 0:00:58conditions. Eastern Scotland should have a frosty, clear start and down

0:00:58 > 0:01:01into the Midlands, East Anglia and the south-east of England, a dry

0:01:01 > 0:01:05start to Tuesday. But already in the west, there is the weather front

0:01:05 > 0:01:10picking up the winds. On the plus side, this weather front will move

0:01:10 > 0:01:13across fairly quickly, so if you start with the rain, the chances are

0:01:13 > 0:01:17that by lunchtime it will have gone by. As the front crosses northern

0:01:17 > 0:01:21England and Scotland it could wring some wintry weather to the hills and

0:01:21 > 0:01:26mountains of. It looks like it will go off into the North Sea by the

0:01:26 > 0:01:29afternoon, leaving a bit of a breather in the weather for most.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33But that will be short lived. This bright area behind me is an

0:01:33 > 0:01:36indicator of what is to come next, and that's a deep area of low

0:01:36 > 0:01:43pressure set to come in from the Atlantic, a vicious little system,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46widespread gales overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, severe gales for a

0:01:46 > 0:01:53time. It will be moving off into the North Sea but behind it we're left

0:01:53 > 0:01:56with quite strong winds and again at the risk of gales and some fairly

0:01:56 > 0:02:02nasty showers. Some heavy downpours of rain, hail and thunder. The winds

0:02:02 > 0:02:06very squally at times. And that sets us up for the remainder of the week,

0:02:06 > 0:02:10with another area of low pressure queueing up to come in from the

0:02:10 > 0:02:15Atlantic. A little bit of a breather again in the early part of Thursday,

0:02:15 > 0:02:19a chilly start for some. But here is the next load of wet and windy

0:02:19 > 0:02:25weather coming in to the British Isles for Friday. Widespread gales

0:02:25 > 0:02:29and as promised some heavy spells of rain. And then to finish
