0:00:00 > 0:00:01I have to tell you that things are going to get much cooler over the

0:00:01 > 0:00:02next few days and by the start

0:00:03 > 0:00:06next few days and by the start of next week will be well down in

0:00:06 > 0:00:06single figures.

0:00:11 > 0:00:16Good evening. A lot of talk about an impending big freeze at the moment,

0:00:16 > 0:00:20but it is still too early to say exactly how cold it is going to get.

0:00:20 > 0:00:24In the short term, the weather is going to be behaving itself and not

0:00:24 > 0:00:28be that cold, but there are big changes going on in the atmosphere

0:00:28 > 0:00:33right now. See these areas of low pressure out in the Atlantic?

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Normally they come their way across our shores but now everything seems

0:00:35 > 0:00:43to be stalling in the atmosphere and the atmosphere is almost

0:00:45 > 0:00:46the atmosphere is almost going into reverse mode. Over the next few

0:00:46 > 0:00:48days, we start to see these north-easterly to easterly winds

0:00:48 > 0:00:51developing and once this cold easterly sets in, it is going to be

0:00:51 > 0:00:54here for a long, long long time, possibly well into March. Still too

0:00:54 > 0:00:58early to save the shore. In the short term, I said the weather is

0:00:58 > 0:01:02not looking bad. It is not going to be gin clear, it will be very

0:01:02 > 0:01:06difficult to predict how much cloud and sunshine we are going to get and

0:01:06 > 0:01:11you can see on Wednesday, not all that cold but details on sunshine

0:01:11 > 0:01:15amounts you can always get in the regional weather forecast, but

0:01:15 > 0:01:18broadly speaking, looking settled and bright across the UK. This is

0:01:18 > 0:01:23the forecast into Thursday morning, starting to get colder, not

0:01:23 > 0:01:26desperately cold but certainly a widespread frost outside of town but

0:01:26 > 0:01:30look at the forecast for Thursday across Europe. Still in the milder

0:01:30 > 0:01:37air, the easterly setting in, Warsaw at -1, -10 during the day in Moscow

0:01:37 > 0:01:40so that Siberian air will be reaching parts of eastern Europe,

0:01:40 > 0:01:45but as far as we are concerned, still relatively mild on Thursday,

0:01:45 > 0:01:52temperatures up to five, six, seven. Already a bit colder in Norwich,

0:01:52 > 0:01:56around four Celsius. This is Friday, again a relatively bright day, a bit

0:01:56 > 0:01:59of mist and fog in the morning but the strong easterly is setting in

0:01:59 > 0:02:04and the southerly is just can't get in, the whole atmosphere is shifting

0:02:04 > 0:02:08from east towards the west and actually, the weather is going to

0:02:08 > 0:02:17stabilise itself a little we go into the

0:02:17 > 0:02:19the weekend, not an awful lot of change. It will stay bright, the

0:02:19 > 0:02:21temperatures will hover around and possibly even lower than that, by

0:02:21 > 0:02:25Sunday, two or three Celsius and towards the end of the week, we can

0:02:25 > 0:02:27next week, these cold Siberian winds setting in, whether the cold air

0:02:27 > 0:02:30will go directly over us all slightly towards the south of us,

0:02:30 > 0:02:31that
